Back the Cupid Head Quarters we all CHQ for short :
"There is number of potentials in this town called Middlemist it's a small town nothing fancy your home town I presume. You and your brother are going to go this high school these girl that learns there. You are going to keep an eye on her. She maybe out only hope against our enemy Amor." Our Commander Mrs Gerrith saod to me in a commanding voice as she gave a page with the details of the place and the girl we were meant to find.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Leydon Damins I am a Cupid yes we are an organisation that was created by Cupid and Venus after his brother Amor killed their father and threatened to tear apart the world with the emotion mankind so desperately needs, love.
Cupid then created an army of his own. Worriors not chosen by royalty nor strength but courage at birth. He's descendents the cholden of Xenon carried more more than those not of his blood. I was the last worrior of Xenon. Our tasked differed from mind capabilities to strength.
Those with stronger minds designed the weapons and cupid arrows and some located the potential love birds we just called the potentials. Those with strength would shoot the arrows and seek the potential. Warriors were mostly born from the blood of Mars the god of war. And were the protectors of Xenon and HQ and other cupids. Jobs changed from time to time as depending on the load.
We have wings and no we not fairies or like elves we are like ordinary humans only with extraordinary powers. Everyone us has an element they have to master. Earth; water; fire, air and nature. For worrier with Earth there's metal. With fire there's electricity. With air there's telepathy. Water comes body fluids and lastly nature with animals both land and sea.
I was water element and also mastered mind reading and control. My brother was a nature element. He mastered emotion control. How we mastered powers never seen before no one knows. But they came in handy.
Ok so we arrived in Middlemist Valley our home town. Yes we grew up here. We we're born in Xenon but most of us not raised there. We live among humans. We were raised here. We moved to our old home. Our parents were happy to be back here.
"Boys you have school tomorrow so get some rest ok" my mother shouted from downstairs. It had be a long day. "Ok mom" me and Leydon said in unison. I looked at the picture and couldn't help but be mesmerized by the girl in it.
'Leasy Dawn Brown. Aged 17, Caramel skin ginja hair. Senior year and wasn't on the potentials list yet. ' You can ask her out tomorrow. You don't have to keep looking at the picture." My brother said while laughing hard as he walked into my room . " There's something about her." Was all I said as I placed the information page in my safe folder and got on my bed." Night brother" was all Leydon said as he walked out of my room.
I woke up from the sound of my alarm and got ready for school. For us school was different from human school ours more advanced. In order to just make less of a issue on what we are the commander had registered me and my brother as international students.
Today is my first day at a human highschool. Did the usual, get cleaned up dressed and had breakfast. "Mom do I really have to go there last time I was in a human school was when I was in fouth grade. And it was not exciting at all" Leydon whines.
We went to a human school in grade four and half of faith grade because there was an attract in Xenon and obviously little cupids had to taken away for safety. And if u guessed that we lived in this house then you are correct.
"It won't be that bad Don. Quit being a baby." I mocked while messing his hair. "Easy for you to say you didn't have much to loose back at HQ and this is practically your job some how." I looked and made his milk spil from his cereal with my water power.
"Hey" He groaned. "Its not my job rather yours actually I'm just there to protect your helpless self. Speaking of which. I placed a clean shirt for you on your bed you're welcome" I said with a laugh. Like all twins me and my brother had our differences. Besides similar features we had little in common, but understood each other well.
"Well played Lee. Well played."he said while clapping his hand. He went to his room and got changed. And went for the t.v., my mom hated t.v. before school starts. Something about bieng late or less motivation i cant remember. " Boys please don't be late on a first day. And turn the Tv off you know the rules boys." My mother yelled from somewhere in the house, she must have heard the sounds of the programme and because cupids have really good hearing. "Yes ma'am " I replie her dragging my little brother from his comfort zone.
"Lets get going I'm driving". I said as I grabbed my keys from the kitchen counter top."Bye parents" we said as we left the house." Hope you pass by a drive thru you spilled my cereal remember." He narrowed his eyes at me. I was mentally complaining and whining but mostly debating whether to do so or not i could just make an excuse Yes. "You do know I can I hear your thoughts right? Must we go though this every time. Be nice big brother and I will not tell mom ok " he made his evil laugh and Yes was annoyed this was to be a very long day.
The day went well. Everything seemed like our school. All that changed when we walked into a class and I saw her. Leasy Brown.
The teacher introduced us to class and told her to show us around. We were also given an assignment together.
"I guess we are in the same group... nice. "I realised that sounded sarcastic than nice. There goes good first impressions. "I'm Leasy and we are team diamond" said ignoring me and showing us the page." Cool. Girls like diamonds. Im leydon and this is lennon." Don said smoothly.
The teacher said something i wasnt really paying attention to asked "Are you guys twins". "we are not twins we have an eighteen months difference.-"I answered her I realised I wanted to say hours instead of months. "she doesn't need to know everything about us does she..." I replied her which was only meant to be in my head and sounded rude.
I was already messing up the relationship before it started. The day was not going according to plan at all. Before I could ruin he mood the bell went off. She was having thought of lying to skip school. In someway I felt guilty it was partly my fault.
She was talking to Don about the timetable or something. I could sense she didn't want to around us well me. Something a little manipulation could fix. Made her a little cheery to be around us. Chemistry was ok the young lady was more of a nerd but sweet with big glasses.I could see her talking but I wasn't paying attention this girl had captured my entire bieng.
Another assignment was given to us. "Boys do you have a group" was what snapped me out of it."Yes it's us and Leasy. I believe three is a group."Don flashed he's signature smile at her. Sometimes I envied him. The way he spoke to people made it easy for him.
I saw Leasy's annoyed expression. I knew she was too much of a sweet girl to object. Unlike in physics I kept myself quite this time. Mostly because I was lost in her beauty again. The other bell went off. Yes this day was not even close to being productive at all.
It is a good thing we had covered this of their whole curriculum the year before. Taking orders I had made the principal make Leasy our tutor. Only because I had to keep a close eye on her. I normally wouldn't go that far but this was an order form the commander. As we were about to leave I noticed her friends bailed on her and she needed transport.
"Looks like you need a ride a home" I asked afraid she's refuse. " Yea sure if you don't mind" she replied. With a sweet and innocent tone. As she got the news about tutoring she seemed not so happy but agreed anyway. The lady asked us as well and agreed, well not like we had a choice. This girl did love her education.
As I drove us home the trip was silent but not exactly awkward. She made me leave he by the corner not so far from her home. I broke my heart how she didn't trust me. Her thoughts about not trusting me burnt a whole in my soul. She didn't know that we lived two houses away and knew everything about her.
"So are you gonna call her and apologize or remainlike this and kill my vibe."Don said as he looks at me. What would I even say to her. I messed up and she already hates. It's a good thing it's Friday." I reply him with so much frustration. "We ain't doing this right now." He shook his left.
After about an hour of me drowning in regret by switching channels he came back. "I talked to your girlfriend and she invited us to a sleepover. You can apologize to her there. We have to go get snacks common" he said dragging me up.
He drove us to the mall near by. "Where did u even get her number from anyway." I finally asked him. "Im good at job son. How do you think I maintain a good record at HQ?" He smirked. Leydon was smart mind he located as well as brought together lovebirds. So I wasn't fully surprised.
"We are getting Chinese. She said her boyfriend Liam or somethin is gonna be there too."He said to me. Boyfriend my heart dropped ofcause she had a boyfriend. "I'm kidding bro she said best friend Liam" he said laughing. "Well not funny. I'll go buy her something for an apology while you wait for the food." I told him and he nodded as I left.
Took a wild hunch and got her many different types of chocolates and snacked for the sleepover. We left the mall and went to her home. We knew her parents where on a business trip and she was alone for a month. It came in here folder.
Leydon rang the bell and she opened the door. She looked beautiful in her pjs. He went I first and I was feeling a little intensity between us. After he went in I pulled her hand gently.
She looked at me. "I'm sorry for being rude today. There's just something different about you... A good different I'm not used to."I said honestly. As I scratched the back of my neck nervous if she's forgive me." I forgive you. Besides you did give me a ride home safely and came to visit me not a lot would do that." She smiled
"I know but I would honestly feel better if you accepted this" I gave her the bag of chocolates in my hand."OMG My favorite chocolates. Thank you."She screamed with happiness and hugged me tight it was a lovely moment until she pulled away and led us to the table where the other two were.
