I had watched her face carefully during her speech and I realized she was pissed. Pissed that the guy had killed her father and now was ruining her life. She was also pissed though, because I had shot the him and the bastard hadn't died. There was nothing else I could do. She wouldn't change her mind.
So I sucked it up and accepted the situation. "Fine, I'll let you attend school." I said.
Annie's eyes lit up like fireworks on the fourth of July. I held up a hand again.
" After, I assure that everything in school is all set."
Annie rolled her eyes. "What are you gonna do? Make sure all the teachers go easy on me and no one says shit about me?"
She looked at my face and swore. "Shit! You do realize it could be annoying to other people in my class that I'm getting special treatment right? I'm sure there are students that have lost loved ones and it wasn't easy for them. Even you lost your dad and it wasn't easy for you."
I shrugged. "I didn't have someone who loved me as much as I love you." I replied.
Annie slapped a hand over her eyes and groaned. I chuckled.
"Wow, what a nice surprise knowing you love me too." I said.
Annie slapped me on the arm. "Shut up. We both know that I love you and there's no changing that."
It was true. I think that Annie started loving me even before she knew it like I had. She gave me a wide eyed look.
"So this means I really get to go to school again?" She asked.
I nodded. She squealed and flung her arms around me. Then she slid on to my lap and gave me a long deep kiss. We heard a throat being cleared and Annie slid off my lap. Mrs. Black stood in the doorway.
"I'm not interrupting anything am I?" She asked.
Annie's mom was really cool about us dating. Well after she gave me a very long speech. Mostly about how precious Annie was. She didn't have to mention Mr. Blacks death. It was kinda implied that Annie was having a traumatic time.
Which had been obvious to anyone who had been around Annie since his death. She also touched on the topic of keeping my pants on and zipped. That had been awkward. Annie gave her mom a small smile.
"Jace is allowing me to go back to school." She said.
Annie's mom raised her eyebrows. "Oh really? I didn't realize that was his decision." She replied.
Annie's face fell and I felt like wrapping my arms around her. I looked at Mr.s Black and decided to sign my death wish.
"Mrs. Black, I understand completely where you're coming from. Annie though is feeling a little suffocated being stuck in the house all day. I told her that I couldn't let her go back to school because I was afraid something might happen. Now that I have really thought about it. I feel that it was really help her if she went back."
Annie raised her head. "Jace even said he would make sure that the teachers knew of my condition and no one would mess with me."
Mrs. Black studied us for what seemed like ages. When she finally spoke her words not only supried Annie, but surprised me too.
"It's good that you will make sure of that Jace, but I already did all that. Annie you're all set to go back to school on Monday."
Annie whooped and ran to her mom and squeezed her really hard. I saw Mr.s Black's face soften and a small smile appeared on her lips as she gazed down at her daughter. Finally Annie stepped away from her mom and jumped into my arms. I held her tightly and Annie's mom nodded. We had an understanding.
I made Annie happy and that was important to her mom. If by and chance I hurt her in any way, her mom would probably hunt me down.
Chapter four
I breathed in the fresh air as I stepped out of Jace's car. It was a beautiful day nice and warm but not too hot. The sun was shining and the sky was a nice shade of blue.
"Not a cloud in sight." I murmured.
I felt one of Jace's arms slip around my waist.
"What was that?" He said into my hair.
I looked at him. "Nothing, I'm just really happy to be here that's all."
Jace smiled and leaned in to give me a kiss. "Well, well, well look who finally showed up to school."
I stiffened and turned to face Tania Blood.
"What do you want Tania?" I asked.
Tania flipped her bottle blonde hair over her shoulder.
"I just wanted to give my condolonces." She said.
I snorted. "That's bullshit Tania and you know it." I replied.
I turned to Jace.
"I gotta get to first. See you in English?" Jace nodded and I leaned in for that kiss.
I knew that I was flaunting that Jace was mine, but hey doing anything to piss Tania off was worth doing. I finally stepped back and started heading to first period. I felt Jaces hand slip from my waist like he was reluctant to let me go. Actually I knew he was reluctant. Tania's eyes were filled with fury.
It wasn't unknown that she had wanted Jace for her own for a long time. I don't feel sorry for her though. She's a bitch and bitches don't always get what they want. Unfortunately though, everyone in the courtyard had turned to look at me as I walked away from Jace.
I scanned the crowd for Alice and quickly found her. She was heading in my direction. When she reached me she let loose all her questions.
"So you and Jace are together offically?"
I just nodded. "That's cool, is he a good kisser?"
I almost stopped walking. I gave Alice a weird look.
"That is a question I won't be answering."
She laughed. "Oh don't worry I won't steal him from you, but Tania will."
This time I did stop walking. Alice stopped too.
