Shock was a little word to what I felt, Andrew's here? To save me? Is he really here?
"Hello? Cora come fast, the tickets are ready and you don't have to waste your time in packing, we'll manage it later, come fast now" he said and ended the call. But how did he even find this place? I was still in shock, but I had to hurry, I looked around the room to find an escape, I tried to open the window but it was locked. My heart was beating so fast in my chest as adrenalin pumped through me. It's now or never Cora, I couldn't even break it because the glass was just too strong. I sighed in agony and decided to unlock it, why didn't I think of this before? Stupid me. I pulled a bobby pin out of my hair and tried to unlock it, I tried but it won't open, after a few unsuccessful tries, I decided to move back. This is my foolishness, how can I escape these superpowerful souls? And I'm such a crazy bitch that I dragged Andrew into this. I shouldn't have done this, it's all my fault. I collapsed on the bed, flat on my back as I stared at the ceiling.
"What have you done Cordelia?" I asked myself.
I wasn't worried about myself, I know that dad and Avery would protect me, I was scared for Andrew, he doesn't know any of this, he doesn't know that he's here to take the daughter of The Commander of the black souls. He doesn't know what he's messing with and I don't know either, what do I do now? I looked at the window hopefully, as if it would click open on its own. I groaned defeatedly, why can't my life be normal? I want to be a normal human and not any supernatural creature, I know it sounds thrilling but it isn't. I decided to give it a one last shot, I dragged my body out of the bed and inserted the pin in the keyhole, as expected, it didn't work. As I was about to take the pin out there was a sound of click, my eyes widened, can this really be happening? I pulled the pin out and tried to pull open the window and to my surprise it actually did! I walked back to the bedroom door and locked it, then walked towards the window, I was on the first floor. This is it Cora, it's do or die, and you'll have to do it! I cheered myself and took a deep breath. I held the frame of the window and sat on it, the cool air passed through me making me shiver a bit. I looked down, my feet hanging off the window, I took a deep breath.
"You can do this" I whispered to myself as I licked my cold dry lips and jumped off the window, to my surprise, I landed safely on my feet. A low chuckle escaped my lips as I felt proud of myself, but this isn't the time to feel proud, I was in the middle of the forest, where do I go? I took my phone out of my pocket and typed the location on the Google maps, Homeland airport, 15 minutes by walk and I'm going to run. I started running along the way showed by the map, I didn't even stop for a second to take breath, after a lot of running, I found a clearing,then to my relief I saw the airport, a smile broke on my face as I ran towards it, I spotted Andrew standing there looking around stressfully, when his eyes stopped on me a sense of relief passed on his face, I ran into his arms and he wrapped his arms around me, a flood of relief passed through me as I closed my eyes and felt the moment. This felt so surreal, I broke the hug and looked in his warm hazel eyes, a smile was playing on his lips as he searched for something in my face.
"Let's go Andrew, I don't wanna stay here" I said truthfully,
"Let's go" he said, he moved back and his eyes landed on my feet. He frowned, I looked down and realised that I didn't have any shoes on.
"Here, have my shoes" he said as he took his shoes off.
"No! I'm good" I said
"Oh come on now! Wear them, we need to go" he said
We need to go, I can't waste my time on these things, I need to leave before dad or Avery finds me. I quickly put on the shoes which were really loose, I didn't know how to tie lays, Andrew bent down and tied the lace tightly. I smiled at him, he caught my hand in his and we jogged towards the check-in counter, followed by security and then finally we boarded the plane.
When the plane took off, I looked down at the homeland, it looked so beautiful from the sky, like a fairytale land,but not every fairytale has a happy ending and even if it does, then I don't want it. My eyes started drooping and soon, I fell asleep.
"Cora? Cora wake up, we're here"
I opened my eyes and saw everyone getting off the plane. Soon, I was sitting in a taxi with Andrew by my side.
"Cordelia" he said and I knew he was serious, he would only use my full name when he's upset.
"Yes?" I asked sheepishly
"When we get back home, I need a very long explanation on those supernatural people"
My eyes widened, how does he know about black souls?!
"How do you know?" I asked
"The guy killed another guy by looking in the eye! What more do you want me to say?!"
"Oh!" was all I could say, I didn't know more about them, but I can't keep anything from him, so I'll tell him everything.
"I'll tell you whatever I know"
He gave me a curt nod and looked ahead, I tilted my head on the window, how would I explain it to him? Will he believe me? Or leave me?
