Chapter 53 - The Current Party

"So, humans suffer from Wrath, then the elves suffer from Pride. We are better off figuring out which ones are affected by what before we deal with them. Greed has been taken care of, so that's all well and good. Chisana..."

The succubus perked up, her eyes locking on Mina. She seemed fearful, yet expectant.

"You'll be a huge part of this. Learning Dream Magic is amazing. We can deal with serious problems before it gets violent!"

The happy look on Chisana's face made her seem brighter. Lily popped in; her face serious.

"I'd like to lend you, Mai. She's strong and she knows the kingdom well. Fennis can be difficult to navigate. I will stay here, helping Miss Melody."

"That's nice of you. I lost my assistant, though it was my fault. I'm glad she's safe and alive."

Melody gave Rin a small smile, though the regret in her eyes was quite obvious. Rin nodded to her, avoiding eye contact.

'Some wounds take time... heh...'

Mina leaned against the wall, her eyes on the roof. Tilting her head, she saw the expectant faces of her comrades.

"Everyone... we may need a smaller team. The plan is to get to the Guardian's after all. Mai and Rin can be interchanged on the way back through, but the five of you... maybe a bit much. We also have... him."

Flicking his wrist, Xander acknowledged Mina's words. He seemed a little impatient, but never voiced his concerns nor denied his desires to help.

'He only wants his magic... maybe I'll give it to him. Eventually.'

"So, Asahi and Suriza. I think we may need you the most. Fubuki and Inferna, can I get the two of you to grind the dungeon? Don't do anything too big, just fight in there. It'll help."

Mina gave them a startling smile, shocking everyone in the room. Mai blinked rapidly; her eyes wide. Lily rubbed hers, shaking her head. Even Xander rolled his eyes around to clear his head.

"Why keep Lily here? Can't you send the girl back to the church?"

Xander finally spoke, his words making Mina wanna slap him.

"Erm... no? The church could be dangerous. We don't know how much they could resist without the barrier. Even Lily confirmed that she couldn't remove the Wrath, just prevent it."

Mina realized that Lily was gushing.

'He isn't concerned... he just wants fewer people around for some reason.'

"So, Fennis or Truvale. That's my biggest question. Where are we headed? Pride or Wrath?"

-

"Lady Dyna, must you constantly watch her? I know you're... obsessed, *cough* in love, but even a Goddess needs rest."

Kat was laying on her back, her usual orb floating over her. Mina was speaking on it, though the sound was off.

"Sidia, you're obsessed with fighting. Shove off."

A young girl, pale skin and heavy armor, rolled her golden eyes. She swept her golden hair back.

"I can do more than fight! I may be the Goddess of War, but even I find interest in people... besides the uh... way they fight."

"You've shown interest in my girlfriend. Don't hide it. She's got some amazing skill with her weapons and magic. Great for war. Woop-dee-doo."

"Lady Dyna... you seem irritable. Truly, sleep would be your greatest friend right now."

Letting her orb roll away, Kat stared at Sidia.

"May as well. Speak first. I can see it in your eyes. What's wrong?"

Sidia scratched her cheek.

"Uh... not exactly something wrong, just something that I'm sort of glad about. Her alignment... it matches yours. Had you been evil, that girl would be a nightmare unleashed on Arvor. Her growth is astounding and I respect her abilities, but she can be dangerous."

Sidia disappeared from the room, leaving Kat to her thoughts.

"It's a good thing... I don't plan on becoming evil. My baby gets to enjoy her life, her way. *yawn* I'll need to snuggle her when she gets to sleep herself."

Not long after she had fallen asleep, a soft light emerged in the room. When the light faded, the silver-eyed beauty stepped through. She walked towards Kat; her eyes full of love.

"You big idiot. You're not even covered up."

Mina looked around, the white room making her sigh and give up. Crawling in between Kat's arms, Mina nuzzled into her neck and smiled peacefully. To her surprise, Kat hugged her a little tighter. When she looked up, the blissful face she saw made her blush slightly.

'Is she perving out? That smile looks... kinda lewd.'

Mina pulled herself up a little, leaning close to Kat. She pulled her hair back, sliding it behind her ear before kissing Kat on the cheek.

"Hey baby. When did you get in here?"

Mina looked down at the pair of bright green eyes she had fallen for. She smiled sheepishly, then leaned down to kiss her.

"A few minutes ago. Get some sleep. I know it's my fault you're so sleepy."

Kat rolled Mina onto her back, her fang gleaming as she smiled.

"I think... I'd rather enjoy you some more. As payback."

Mina hooked her legs around Kat's, her face bright red.

"You're threatening me with a good time. I've uh... been waiting for you to take the lead. You know I'm inexperienced."

Kat blushed a little too, kissing Mina softly.

"A thousand years, yet I waited for you. For everything."

Her bright smile made Mina's heart pound heavily.
