"Tch. Don't talk like we are long time friends. I don't even know you!"
The man smiled darkly.
"But of course you know me! Guardian of the Font of Flames! Wrath's embodiment! I'm just trying to keep things friendly- Ah! My lady, you've arrived as well."
A beautiful woman glared as she entered the room. She had a small scratch on her face, the blood already drying. Her blade was at Xander's throat.
"Back away from the Guardian. Traitors should be quickly disposed of quickly, yet here I am."
Her blade grazed his neck, droplets of blood beginning to form.
"Then kill him. I don't care."
Hysteria brushed the woman and Xander off, her gaze back on the Guardian.
"Now, how am I supposed to get rid of that Wrath you're holding?"
His bright eyes gleamed as he began to approach Hysteria.
"I could do with a new bed warmer, but you seem a little cold. Maybe if I reduce my suppressant, the cute one can come out. Heh."
'Hey! Hysteria is plenty cute!'
Mina screamed from within her soul, though only Hysteria could hear her. Her ears turned a bit red, but she ignored Mina. Raising Mina's Sword Body, she took a step forward.
"Look, we are here to fix the bullshit cause by Vex. Now easy way, you give up. Hard way, I kick your ass and absorb the Font."
The Guardian seemed intrigued, though confused.
"Absorb? Ha. If it were so easy, that bitch would have-"
In an instant, the black hair turned white as the red eyes became silver. Mina had pounced in a moment of the Guardian's hesitation, her blade against his neck now.
"Call her that, one more time."
From behind her, Mina heard laughter from the female knight.
"Dumb girl, you're asking to get burned!"
As she spoke, Mina realized the area around her had begun to hest up. Below her, the Guardian was now glaring. His eyes had gotten even brighter, almost as if a flame had ignited as she got closer to him.
"That BITCH-"
His body suddenly vanished in a puff of smoke as Mina's blade pierced him. He reappeared beside the Font, a small drop of blood trickling down his neck.
"Hmm. I see, you do have the ability to harm me after all. All jokes aside, I don't plan on letting you just win without trying. Here's the deal, I don't like fighting. I'll let you fight the princess of Fennis. You win, I give you the Font. Sound fair?"
Mina rolled her eyes, looking towards Xander and the night that still had him.
"That her?"
"Of course."
"Shit. Fine. I'll fight her, but we need a more open area."
-
The odd group left the Font area, heading towards an area that seemed to be a sparring field.
["You in position, Suriza?"]
["Yes! I'll be here if you need me."]
Mina gripped her pair of blades, lightly swinging them to make sure she was ready. The princess, still wearing the gear of a knight, had a spear and a massive greatsword set aside. The two weapons seemed plain, yet Mina knew she was strong.
"Are you ready, elf?"
Mina reached up, touching her ears. Shrugging, she nodded towards her. In an instant, the princess threw her spear, although Mina barely tried to dodge it. The blade of the spear narrowly missed her arm, leaving Mina to smile as she didn't feel it get close enough. Lifting the spear, she tossed it back before dashing forward herself.
"Lousy damned elf!"
The princess used her large blade to break her own spear, quickly using the weapon to deflect Mina's continuous attacks.
'How is she moving so quickly with this weapon? The hell is she?'
Mina swiveled low, her blades nearing the princess's legs. She jumped, quickly evading the blades and reaching for Mina. To her surprise, her fingers slipped through Mina.
"Wh-what?!"
Flinging the massive blade down, it flew straight through Mina as well. As the blade crashed into the ground, Mina took that chance to drop her silver blade into her inventory, then slamming her foot into the princess's stomach. Part of the armor caved in, blasting the princess backwards. She gasped for breath, heavily confused as she tried to get back to her feet.
"J-just... what the hell are you?"
The Guardian seemed intrigued as well, as Mina's race wasn't common knowledge.
"Doesn't really matter, you've already lost. So, what now?"
The princess finally got to her feet, removing the damaged armor. Her slender body seemed undamaged, but she continued to hold her stomach as she sighed.
"You... you won't win!"
Grabbing her blade, she launched herself forward. Mina couldn't deflect the weight of the blade, so she attempted to allow the blade to pass through her up until a blazing flame erupted from it. Mina's eyes narrowed, dropping low as she slid the blades around to deflect what she could of the massive weapon. She could feel the flames beginning to scorch her hands, jumping sideways as the flame hurt her.
The princess smiled.
"Magic, huh?"
Flames began to appear on the princess's hands, swirling around and forming multiple separate orbs. They began to fire, quickly blasting at Mina.
"Dammit."
Mina quickly dodged numerous orbs, even using her bracers to deflect many of them.
"The hell?! You even... ugh!"
The princess glared hard, dashing with her blade in hand. She jumped, swinging down at Mina.
"Fine, have it your way."
Mina finally chose to use her own magic, quickly lashing short chains of shadows out at the princess. The hook one of her legs, narrowly missing the rest of her limbs. Mina snapped, blasting a massive flash of light and blinding the princess. She dropped her blade rubbing her eyes.
"Hmm. So that's the power you truly have. To think you could so easily out maneuver my knight. This is somewhat surprising."
Mina crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing as the Guardian drew near. Before she could react, he was immediately appeared before her. His hand held a blade engulfed in flame. The blade was shoved towards Mina, her hands attempting to stop the blade.
"Agh... you can't hurt her. Never!"
