"Useless... as my slave, you should be able to perform any task I ask you to, yet here you are."
Melody felt the pain of the leg that whipped out. It slammed into her stomach, making her cough out and gasp for air.
"So why, why do you not have the ability to perform what I asked?"
Melody looked up, her eyes a blur as she trued to respond.
"I just can't. I want to, but I just-"
"Stop making excuses! You're completely useless. Let's see how you do after your sold off to some guy looking for a friend. Heh."
Melody wiped her eyes, unable to respond as Mina left her behind. She could only watch as she vanished from sight, her heart crushed.
"Mina... I'm sorry."
"You should be."
Melody spun around, her eyes widening in horror as she stared at Mina. She was bloody, barely standing and glaring at Melody. Every step she took was slow and weak, yet her eyes continued to blaze.
"Did you think that I would be safe? You know exactly what humans are capable of, after all... you are one. A human that wouldn't hesitate to kill something like me. A mon-"
Melody covered Mina's mouth, unable to stop the tears as she looked into the girls eyes.
"You're not a monster. You're so much more! You're my Master... the only reason I'm free from that darkness invading my mind! Now stop using my Master's face to break me!"
-
"Hmm? Oh... I guess she fell asleep as well. I don't need to instill too much fear for her, focus the most on the pretty girl. This'll be fun!"
Chisana laid out, her breathing steady but her magic fading. Residual amounts were left on Melody, but Chisana was no longer helping Mina as the darker clouds continued to permeate her mind.
-
"Run! Don't let them get you! My sweet baby, just get outside!"
Chisana flapped her tiny wings, barely able to stay airborne. She was scared and unable to see straight as she kept hidden from the men that had entered their cave and attacked them.
'Just get outside... I'll be safe if I can hide!'
Chisana hit the ground as she flew outside, the bright light of the sun instantly blinding her weak eyes. In her panicked moment, she crawled towards the coolest area she could feel. The grass covered her body, keeping her hidden as well.
'I've already lived this nightmare... my family is gone, but I've made a new one! Release me you foul bitch!'
In the blink of an eyes, Chisana was standing at her full height. She was glaring as the shadows receded.
-
Melody cowered in a corner, silently sobbing as she watched Mina approach her. Her mind whirled as she knelt down, her bright smile bringing her vision into focus.
"What are you doing? I've been looking for you for a while."
Mina held out her hand, waiting until Melody finally took it.
"I was getting worried... maybe I should punish you? Nah... you'd like that too much. How about..."
Mina pulled Melody into her arms and held her tight.
"Don't do things alone. You've got me now, you've got all of us. Stressing out won't do you any good."
Melody laid her chin on Mina's head, her own lips curving into a smile.
"I'm sorry I worried you. Stuff on my mind just... exploded. I wanted to be at your side, but I'm just not strong enough."
Mina backed up, giving another grin.
"You're plenty strong. But you're also a pervert... not a bad thing, but well... I've seen how you get."
Mina bounced up onto the tips of her toes, kissing Melody on her cheek. When she hit the soles of her feet, she spun around with her cheeks brightening.
"You're also too good to be true sometimes. Don't lose yourself."
-
"How could I have fallen asleep? I'm supposed to be helping and protecting my friends. She sure as hell didn't waste any time."
Sighing heavily, Chisana laid back and stretched out.
"This body is kind of... perverted. How did I even grow so much?"
Chisana touched the tips of her ears, feeling the point. She smiled, realizing she was even more similar to Mina than she thought.
"You look like you're having fun."
Chisana stared off towards the voice, Mina slowly approaching her.
"I know this is a dream, but being able to see you so clearly feels amazing."
Mina sat beside Chisana as the scenery suddenly changed. The moon hung over them, shining it's brilliant light down as Mina grabbed Chisana's hand.
"You put a lot on your shoulder and tried really hard, but you need to wake up. Your magic is fading, leaving me weak and vulnerable to that vile succubus's magic. Stop her... before the unthinkable happens."
Chisana could feel Mina's tears hit her skin as she say up. Mina had vanished, though the desire to wake wasn't enough. Chisana began to channel her magic, forcing herself to wake.
-
"So this girl... these dreams are strange. She's lived one fear, but it seems to be out of place. Let me help you! Fufufu."
The succubus laid her hand on Mina's forehead, her magic seeping even deeper.
