Mina rubbed her eyes, narrowly avoiding Lily's hand. She had attempted to slap her, though it only brought forth a slightly irritated smile.
"Could you not? My girlfriend would probably get pissed if you hit me."
Although she wasn't trying to be condescending, her words came out with a slight bit of poison. Her irritation grew more as Lily got angrier.
"You try to trick everyone into believing that you are some... God chosen monster?!"
Mina's eyes rose, though she could only smirk knowing which blessings she had.
"Mai, dispose of her. Those lies will only cause disaster if the wrong person hears them. Who would believe this... thing is dating a Goddess that's nearly a thousand years old, I know not, yet it's not imposs-"
"Thousand...?"
The look in Mina's eyes brought a tinge of confusion to the Priestess. She nearly spoke, but Mina clenched her fists and screamed at the air.
"Kat Visnit! Get your ass down here now!"
Everyone in the room was staring, unsure of what caused Mina to lose her cool.
"Over a thousand years... You've waited that long?"
Mina felt a familiar feeling against her back as Kat sighed behind her.
"You mad at me?"
Mina swiveled around and stared up into Kat's face.
"You idiot! You could have told me... why wait so long?"
Kat tilted her head, almost as if she couldn't believe what Mina asked.
"Wait a thousand years? For you? I'd do it again."
Lily was watching in mock amazement, a look of contempt on her face as she shoved Mina into Kat.
"You call on another monster-"
SMACK
Unable to withstand her anger, Kat slapped Lily so hard she fell backwards into Mai. The kunoichi didn't seem to be fazed at all, her face almost sad now.
"Lily, you're not yourself. Why are you so aggressive?"
Mina sighed out one word.
"Wrath."
As she spoke, a fire was lit in Lily's eyes. She raised her hand, fire sprouting in her hands. Mai was startled.
"L-Lily!? You've never used Fire Magic before! What are you doing?!"
In a flash, Mina slammed her fist into Lily's stomach. She coughed out hard, her eyes rolling into the back of her head.
"The Fire Guardian corrupted her. Why weren't you affected, Mai?"
Mai shook her head, pulling her hood back. She revealed a pair of sleek charcoal black horns that rose from her forehead then looped down below her ears.
"My hood is enchanted to hide them, but I'm demonkin."
Mina could see Chisana bounce in excitement, but she waved her hand to stop her.
"You're supposed to be protecting Lily, but I'm protecting Kat... well Dyna. She's weak on the mortal plane due to certain circumstances, so I'll stop anyone that is a potential danger."
Mai nodded, pulling Lily out of Mina's arms.
"I've looked after Lily since she was young, but this was almost absurd. The Guardian should never have had the power to cause this."
Mina shrugged, her hand seeming to glow with light.
"I'll stop them. All of them. I've promised this silly Goddess behind me to do so."
Kat almost seemed to want to butt in, yet she was stopped by Mina hopping up to kiss her.
"I think you should head back. I'm sorry for calling you down again, but..."
Kat patted her head.
"You're fine. I'm just a call away, especially without Vex. Save this world, baby."
Kat began to fade, her expression turning sour a moment too quickly. Mina frowned upon seeing it, but she focused on her current predicament.
"Mai, you came here to recover her Light Magic. If I return it, would it remove that corrupt personality?"
Mai could only shrug, her short black hair bouncing around her shoulders as she held onto Lily.
"Then we have a test to... well test."
Mina knelt beside Mai, placing her hand against Lily's forehead. The light on her hand began to emit a gentle wave of energy, pulsing against the skin of the sleeping girl. She writhed for a brief moment, but stopped quite quickly.
[Does you wish to permit Lily Walveren access to Light Magic?]
Mina confirmed within her mind, the soft pulsing suddenly blooming inside of Lily's chest. A moment later, she seemed to become more comfortable as she slept.
"I can feel the light in her, but the fire seems to be getting snuffed out. It's not immediate."
She looked up at Melody.
"Why is she safe?"
Mina snapped, a collar appearing around Melody's neck.
"This is what she suggested. Slavery. It nullifies the effect from the Guardian's power. I'm not sure if you'd need it, but most other races would probably benefit from being my slaves... if only temporary."
Mai seemed disgusted, but she nodded. Her eyes rose to Melody's face, her stoic expression cracking as she burst into laughter.
"Melody! Control your perversion!"
Mina was blushing a little, finally hearing Melody panting behind her.
"Eep! S-sorry!"
Her squeak gave Mina a small smile, though her eyes focused on Lily as her own opened again. Tears slowly began to emerge as she jumped onto Mina.
"So you remember what you did. You weren't in control."
She rubbed Lily's back slowly, Mai giving her a grateful smile. This continued until the door to the room burst open, a bleeding elf falling to the floor screaming at Mina.
"Make me your slave! Now!"
