Mina leaned her blades against a nearby tree as the skies had gotten dark. Taking a seat, she leaned against them so that she wouldn't slip through the tree. Through trial and error, she found that she couldn't slip through her own Sword Body. Most everything else would be instant laughs and giggles from her companions.
Mina watched as the others set themselves up to be more comfortable. Inferna leapt into a tree to monitor the surroundings, while Fubuki curled up with the snake and bat under her tail. Asahi flapped her way into a nearby tree to start resting.
Having been travelling for so long, the others had sore legs. Especially Asahi when her restlessness cause her to try and walk beside them. She had tripped over a tiny pebble, healing her thin legs before any damage could be done.
"Mina?"
A soft tweet came from above. Looking up, Asahi flapped her way back down.
"Something wrong?"
"No, no. Just wanted to see what your plans were. We are travelling aimlessly. I just... don't know what we are doing. I'm curious."
Mina leaned her head back, gazing between the leaves overhead. She could see the starry sky somewhat, but when she looked down all she could do was shake her head.
"I don't know. I'm probably younger than the little bat, to be honest. I don't know where I am or where we are going. For now, it's exploration and foraging. We need to grow stronger, especially with everything my blessing gave you. Access to my system... it's actually from another God. Dyn, the Great God of Creation."
"Dyn? Was that supposed to be their name? The Great God of Creation is practically a legend. Little to no one even knows that name."
"And why do you?"
Asahi puffed out her little bird chest.
"My family thoroughly enjoys the lore of our God's and Goddesses! We know quite the haul, but many are still unknown to some extent. Especially the godly beings that deal with the fonts."
"So the Guardians? I've met the Font of Lights Guardian. She was a massive lady. I ended up absorbing the power in there, but I don't even know the full effects. I'm Holy now, but that's about it."
Asahi's eyes went wide.
"So that statue?! It led you to the Font of Light!? That font has been hidden for countless years! Haha! Mina you're awesome. To get linked straight to a hidden font... can you use healing magic? Or light based attack magic?"
Mina shook her head.
"I don't want to call attention to us, nor do I want to harm the bats eyes. I would like to test it out, but I'm also trying to grow stronger. Once I've learned to control what I can do, as well as eaten what I can, I'll grow much stronger. After all, my Sword Body is made of steel. I want to become made of the best smithing metal. Something strong and durable that I can use to cast magic as well. Even when I change form, it seems that the rarity crosses over. My bow isn't any ordinary piece of wood you can craft a bow from, it's at least as good as steel."
Asahi seemed to be thinking, but Fubuki spoke up.
"Legendary metals do exist, many of which are used for almost godlike weapons. If you ever get your hands on it, I'd recommend using Abyssall Silver. Due to your blade being dark element, this metal could become a great boon. Only problem, you'd need to travel around the world to find it in a large enough quantity. Even then, I doubt any of us actually know what it looks like or what it might actually do. It's a cursed ore, many think it to be only forgeable by demonkin."
Mina's eyes fell onto the sleeping bat.
"Demonkin... maybe our little bat could help then? It may be a stretch, but ore is one thing that will help me greatly. For now, finding silver for myself should suffice. Maybe even some other special cores and crystals."
Mina closed her eyes, asking one last question.
"So Fubuki, does your family pride itself on metal knowledge?"
Fubuki huffed.
"Not exactly, we just know a little bit more than average."
Mina smirked, keeping her eyes closed.
'This world was written to be easy for me, wasn't it? Next thing I know, I get a bomb of amazing details thrown at me.'
Mina's mind faded, drifting into sleep. Her body vanished, falling into her core.
-
"I'm sorry that I brought you here, Mina."
Opening her eyes, Mina felt a powerful light surround her. She looked around, the light no longer capable of hurting her eyes.
"Dyn? Was something the matter?"
She could hear Dyn sigh, but a voice she remotely recognized came forward.
"Nothing is wrong. I just... needed to check on you. To tell you the truth of myself as well. Dyn was a fake name, it's actually Dyna. Hehe."
Mina crossed her arms.
"Well you didn't need to hide that. Erm... shit. I spilled the beans on your name."
Dyna took a sharp intake of breath, sighing it out slowly. After she finished, she seemed to pat Mina on the head.
"Fret not. I don't feel any hostile energies heading in my direction. Do try your best to not speak it aloud near prying ears."
Mina nodded, bowing her head.
"Don't bow to me dummy."
Her eyes popped up, but she only tilted her head.
"So Dyna, do you have any thoughts on where we should go? We need to find a place to grow stronger."
"Oh, easy. There is a dungeon in the town near you. A special place with respawning monsters and ore. The human kingdom doesn't truly need it, so if you could begin to harvest the materials... maybe you could grow your party to be a mean machine of power. I also recommend removing the snake and bat from your follower list and turning off the experience share."
Mina was taken aback.
"Huh? But they've got-"
"No you silly... give them names. Add them to your actual party. They're weak, but I can assure you that they will grow much stronger. That little bat? She holds a demonkin essence within her blood. She can evolve into a powerful being. The snake? Imagine her growing into an even more valuable scout. Maybe some day, you could even make her the leader of a group of scouts. Send her on missions to find some decent info, or even keep her at your side. Your invisible body guard."
Mina smiled slightly.
"This world is really too easy. Dyna, I've been wanting to ask something."
"Oh?"
"Well two things, first of all... can I see what you look like?"
Dyna seemed to grow somber.
"I cannot show you. Not yet. It may be dangerous if you knew too much. I'll reveal myself to you some day."
"Alright. Then... my memories-"
"Are some missing?! I was sure I checked to make them stay safe..."
Mina shook her head.
"I have been having dreams. These dreams... They've had me wondering about who someone is. I don't remember her unless I think of the dream. I think... I think I loved her, but I didn't even know I liked women until I spoke to you."
Dyna didn't speak. She almost seemed to be thinking. Finally she asked a simple question.
"What is her name?"
"Kat. Just thinking of her makes my heart flutter. Do I have a thing for strong girls that act cute to get my attention?"
Mina tilted her head and tapped her chin. A cute smile spread on her face.
"Mina, cherish those memories then. They may be important. Perhaps this Kat can be a pillar to remember who you are. Do your best out there."
Mina nodded, feeling her mind fall away from the area. She gave Dyna a playful smile, mouthing two words that she didn't hear.
When she was alone, Dyna sighed. The light surrounding her faded. Stretching out, her green eyes flicked across the white space.
"That dummy. Of course you loved me! Ugh... so she dreamt of me, did she? Even my heart can flutter after I left her alone back there. I'm sorry Mina... mistakes were made."
