In the classroom at the beginning of the week, the strange murder events was the hot topic. The students have completely forgotten that some of their classmates have been caught up in a recent incident
Sunday morning. Every news company in Helheim City came out with what was a veritable festival of articles about the continuous strange murder events in an attempt to out-scooped by other news companies.
Because of the that, news quickly spread like wildfire. But the main point especially emphasized the occult aspect, agitating the sensation.
"Morning~. Hey, hey, Luna, did you see yesterday's news?"
However the only people who understood that they are being agitated, still dared to take advantage of that, were probably people around Luna's age. As usual, definitely without being led, the friend who would seem likely to dance upfront was the very first voice that called out.
"news, you mean the 'vampire'?"
Even though it was obvious, she was trying to make sure they were on the same page. Then Mae, as she thought, nodded happily.
"About that, it's after all impossible that it would be done by a single criminal, right? Is it a professional organized crime? My vote is that it is an illegal organization dealing in organs and blood"
As soon as Luna sat on her chair, she noticed that Tristan's seat was still empty and class was about to start, knowing this she pouted, Tristan never showed up yesterday when she got discharged so she was still pissed that he wasn't here.
'Where's that idiot!' She thought.
"Achoo!!"
In the central District doing their patrol, Tristan, who was observing from the moped, sneezed all of a sudden.
"You okay?" Ralph asked a he munched on his hotdog sandwich.
Tristan rubbed his nose and sniffed "yeah, I'm good"
"By the way, aren't you supposed to be in school?"
"Hah?! Then can you find the Blood Breed on your own?"
Tristan shot back with annoyance and slapped Ralph with the truth. Ralph shrank back a bit.
"It's hard, but it's not impossible!"
"Let me guess, by checking people's reflection"
"Yeah"
"See, I knew you're dumb"
"Hah!"
"There's 5 billion people in the city, how can you even check them one by one"
"Tch! Fine, fine, shut up already! We need to find that bastard"
Ralph finished his hotdog and sat on the Moped and started it.
"Let's move to the next block" Tristan pulled out his phone and crossed out the current area.
Thanks to the recent boom of the news about the Vampire events DESTINY had no other choice but to hasten their investigation.
They had been aware of the recent events, and decided to investigate it, but up until now, that had no luck on finding clues or even a shadow of the perpetrators.
The chances of the perpetrators were Blood Breeds was high, considering the MO, a wound mark was on the neck of the victim, and the blood was sucked dry.
"But why would they even turn the body into husk?" they were cruising on the main road as a suitable speed as Ralph raised the question
"Weren't you even listening during the debriefing?" Tristan said "the perpetrator probably doesn't want to create ghouls"
"Doesn't make sense, if their goal was the feed on the victim, they would just capture one, right?"
"Yeah, but it seems this one is on a frenzy"
"So, it must be a new one, right"
"yeah, but they're being sucked dry, and there was too many victims in one night" Tristan said
"so, there's a couple of new ones?"
"how did you eve n survive this long? Can't you take the possibility of this not being an organized attacks"
"Shut up alright, I don't think of the hard stuff, but if you say was right, what's their aim then?"
"Who knows..."
On her way home from school, Luna received a message from her mom.
[Luna, Dad and I won't be able to come home for a week because of our jobs, so, you'll be alone for awhile, don't live off of instant ramen okay]
Luna frowned at the message 'that's rude, just because I can't cook that well doesn't mean I'll just be eating cupped noodles'
As she walked while staring at the text, she hadn't noticed and bumped to a teacher.
"ah!"
Thankfully the impact wasn't strong, Luna immediately apologize to the teacher. She recognized the teacher, he was their history teacher, Mr Brunner.
He was young in his early thirties, having a sleek blonde hair and alluring red eyes, aside from that his pale complexion and handsome face complemented each other, he was quite popular among girls in the school, which stands to reason why most of the girls he taught had high grades in history.
"Hey now, Ms. Lumineux, don't walk while texting"
"A-Ah, y-yes, sorry, sir..."
Apparently, Luna also wasn't immune to the charm of the History teacher.
Mr. Brunner gently smiled on the young girl "as long as you understand, hurry home now, take care"
"Y-Yes, thank you very much" after lightly bowing, Luna turned and hurried down the stairs with a flushed face.
Mr. Brunner narrowed his eyes as he observed the figure of Luna disappearing in the stairwell. A smile formed on his face
"I found you..."
At the end of the day, Tristan and Ralph didn't even find a single strand of clue nor a whiff of a blood breed.
The day turned out uneventful aside from stopping a crazed esper, nothing really happened to them.
It was already 6:00 pm and the sun is already setting. On his way home, he suddenly noticed a Silver-haired girl in twin tails coming out of the convenient store with a bag full of instant ramen.
The girl noticed him and stared with her amber eyes, for a few seconds they had eye contact, after which Tristan walked briskly pretending he never saw her.
Luna pouted her lips and quickly caught up with Tristan, right after catching up, Luna lightly punched Tristan's arm.
"Don't ignore me!"
Tristan slowed down a bit and match Luna's pace while rubbing his arm.
"Sorry..."
"Hmph! You didn't even show up yesterday, and you're not at school today, what have you been doing with your life?"
"Job"
"That's a pretty demanding job, do you even have day offs?"
"Sometimes... What's with the ramen?"
As soon as Tristan pointed it out, Luna hid the back on her back, with her face flushed she avoided eye contact with Tristan. It was honestly cute in Tristan's opinion.
"M-My parents aren't home for a week... I'm just preparing for it"
"With ramen?" Tristan asked in surprise "don't tell me you can't cook"
"I can cook!!" Luna shot back immediately "It's just a hassle to prepare and all, and chop and..."
Luna fiddled with her fingers trying to make excuses all while blushing thoroughly.
"So, you're lazy..."
"N-no I'm not!"
"Hmm..."
