Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 – Divine Blood (3)

The young man named Arthur glanced at the battered up figure of Tristan.

"It's a knight's duty to protect the weak, Tristan"

"Who are you calling weak! You dumb knight!!" Tristan quickly shot back more irritated than ever.

Because of his irritation, he had temporarily forgotten about the damage he accumulated. After grabbing his guns, he struggled to get back up again, this time with Arthur by his side.

Seeing the newcomer, the Blood Breed didn't look so pleased.

"Hey, hey! How dare you come in like that! I had him already! Who the fuck do you think you are!!?? Hah?!"

Arthur stood up straight, but he had no openings whatsoever. "Remember it well, I am the next ruler of the Chevrolet Kingdom! Arthur James Chevrolet! The Knight King!"

At that moment, Tristan felt face palming himself. Arthur had always been weird since he met him, he just know that the guy was delusional, and he was supposed to be a prince of some made up kingdom.

But even with his quirks, Arthur is one of the best fighters in DESTINY, so he had no qualms, but at times like this, when he acts like a knight, it was so embarrassing, he wouldn't mind getting killed rather than others seeing him with Arthur.

"Hah? Ahahahaha!!! This boy is crazy!! You're already in that age and you're still playing knight!!"

Arthur and Tristan glanced at each other, and simultaneously launched their attacks, Arthur quickly closed in the distance and swung an over head vertical slash, the man dodged to the left, but Tristan was already lying in wait with his Railgun, the bullet cleanly pierced through the left chest of the Blood Breed.

Following up on his attack, Arthur switched up his sword arm and stabbed the man, but the Blood Breed swatted away the plasma blade with the trade off of a burnt skin, Tristan rushed in with an electrically induced kick, it hit the Blood Breed's face.

Seeing the perfect combination of the two Blood Hunters, the man made the call.

"Looks like I have to back off for now!" He said while wiping the dirt off his cheek "We'll come back for the girl"

After saying, the man's body turned black and scattered into small black bats.

"Wait!" Arthur tried to pursue the man, but Tristan stopped him immediately.

"Don't Arthur, we don't know if that guy regrouped with his associates"

"But that doesn't changed that it's a blood breed, we need to hunt them now"

"No, we need to report this to Mr. Charles" Tristan looked back to Luna who was still frozen in place "and it seems that we already know the next target"

After the skirmish ended, Luna was overwhelmed by shock and was unable to speak for awhile, seeing that, Tristan had her sit for now while Arthur looked after her, Tristan went to call Charles to inform him.

"For now, Tristan, keep close to Luna, we don't know why they're after her, but we need to keep her safe"

"Understood"

Pressing the end call, Tristan put away his phone as he bought drinks from the vending machine, then he returned to Luna's spot.

Seeing that, Tristan was back, Arthur started to bid his farewell.

"Huh, you're leaving already?"

"Correct, I only came to inform you that I have come back, and now that it is over, I shall visit our other comrades. well then, I bid you adieu"

"Yeah..." Tristan wasn't able to control his exasperated expression as he waved good by to the knightly prince. 'he really should stop with the Knight roleplay, also that cringy words, just because he travelled the world...'

Tristan and Luna was left in the park, Luna was still staring at the empty space, and having said that, it's already evening, the sun had long set, they couldn't stay here any longer.

Tristan had two cans of coffee, he lightly pressed Luna's cheek with one, she reacted at a stimuli coming from the can, she looked at Tristan.

He had a calm smile on his face as if to comfort Luna.

"You okay?" he offered her the can, which she absentmindedly took.

It was only understandable that she was a bit traumatized, after all she had just noticed one of the attractions of Helheim City, Trouble, up close and personal. And for her first encounter to be with a blood Breed is much more terrifying, even though the fight was over, the blood breed was long gone, Luna still shivered at the thought.

The crimson eyes of the blood breed would probably give her nightmares, when the man stared at her, she knew inside her heart, she was in trouble, it felt like death was out to hunt her down.

"Yeah... thanks..." she gripped the can harder to supress her emotions from welling up, at any given moment she'd be breaking down while crying.

Tristan popped open his own coffee and started sipping it. He didn't exactly know what to do in this situations, the most obvious thing was probably to comfort Luna, assure her that danger was averted, but he couldn't do something like that, he knew that the blood breed was out for her.

He had some suspicions, but from the start, Luna's aura was not normal. Tristan slightly opened his squinted eyes to check her aura once more.

Like the first time, she possessed a Crimson wing-like aura, however, she was still human as far as tests go, but looking closely at her aura, there was something mixed in, unlike other blood Breeds that had a really sinister feel to their auras, Luna had something else, not a human aura, but it was still dormant and faint.

A few seconds of silence, Luna only stared at the can, any longer and it would probably melt in her hands.

So Tristan made a proposal. "It's getting late, let's go home"

"Uh... Yes..." Luna stood up with a crestfallen expression

"Are you hungry?" Tristan asked

"..."

"I'm hungry, come to my place... I'll cook something for you..."

"Eh?" after she heard his words, her expression suddenly change to that of a surprise, but Tristan only glance at him at the corner of his eye.

"You want to know about me, right? Come to my place, I'll tell you everything over dinner"
