Chapter 43 - -Insecure-

Author's note at the end:

______________________________________________

Insecure,

We feel insecure,

We hate what we see in the mirror,

Because it wasn't approved by the others.

Insecure,

What can't you let me be,

Why do you give a shit,

Why can't you stop with the stares.

Insecure,

People are evil,

They don't care,

To them you're just another defect.

Insecure,

Let people love themselves,

Let people dress the way they feel,

Just stop with the judgment for god's sake please.

Insecure,

They've broken people down,

It made them feel powerful,

But in the end they're just a freaking cowards.

Insecure,

We have feelings,

But thanks to you,

Now I'm insecure.

Insecure,

In the end,

You can't blame them,

Because the circle never ends.

Hello you amazing hoomans I'm back with another poem. I had a draft of this idea when I was staring at my reflection in the mirror. Why is it that society gets to tell us how we should look on the daily basis? Who gave them the right to make hurtful comments about our own bodies? Why can't people mind their own problems? What's wrong with having thick thighs or having  freckles scattered throughout your face. What's wrong if someone is a bit skinny or what's wrong with having a little more meat on your bones? What's up with this system huh?

Body shaming, fat shaming, skin colour discrimination. Because of these types of stereotypes, little girls and boys are brought up to think if they were dark they wouldn't be seen as pretty or handsome as the light skinned ones . They were brought up to think that being a little fat was a sin or if you were too thin you would be seen as a skeleton. It's time we started changing for ourselves and not what others think. You be you , never let anyone tell you other wise. Break the cycle and love yourself hoomans❤️

Love,

C🦋
