The seven young women walked among the streets of Hecatia City, in search for the gowns they'd wear for the party thrown in honour of Aphrodite Day.
Blanche spoke up "There's a good dress shop on Wardwell Circuit."
"How do you know that?" Iris asked.
"I've shopped there for half of my casual wardrobe."
"What's the shop called?" Evelyn looked over.
"It's called Dress-us. We'll board the Hoverbus. It's quicker." Blanche explained.
The women caught a local Hoverbus to a Hoverbus stop in Wardwell Circuit, where the women got off the bus and followed Blanche to where the shop was.
Dress-us was a lavender-purple-coloured stone building with French like doors and windows, and white flowers scattered around the front. There were mannequins displayed with dresses, shirts, pants and skirts, shoes, bags, hats, coats, jackets and scarfs. Some mannequins were positioned on a broomstick, some lying, others sitting and the rest standing. There were hand and foot mannequins with jewellery adorned on their fingers and the ankle.
Blanche beamed in joy when she saw the purple shop and practically sprinted towards the doors, neglecting the fact that she was wearing heels and could have broken her ankle.
"Wow!" Evelyn exclaimed in amazement. This world just got better and better.
"I know right!" Blanche exclaimed.
Blanche was just staring at the shop's display with their latest fashions, as her six roommates approached the door and entered the shop. Blanche as still hypnotised by the displays until Marina pulled her inside the shop.
It was like a French fashion shop mixed with a hotel lobby. Racks and shelves with beautiful clothes, shoes, accessories and jewellery. It was a fashionista's idea of heaven.
The change rooms had pearly white doors that looked to be made of marble, and three mirrors in each, which gave multiple angles of whatever you were trying on.
"Hi. Welcome to Dress-us. Let me know if you need help finding anything, okay."
Claire smiled "Will do. Now, let the search commence, witches."
The women began scouring their racks and shelves, noticing and grabbing some jewellery, accessories, shoes and jackets. Evelyn grabbed whatever worked for her, but Blanche and Claire grabbed the most beautiful and expensive befitting their expensive lifestyle as Royals, while Azalea, Ember, Marina and Iris grabbed the items that they could afford.
Claire was scouring the racks for a dress for herself when she saw a dress, and yanked it out. It was a draped shoulder pleat black dress with a skirt that ended at the knees.
"Oh dear Hecate!" Claire gasped.
Ember looked at the Lunarisian Princess "What?"
Ember and the others walked over to Claire who was gaping at the black dress.
"This dress... Ember, I think you should have it. The black would clash beautifully with your bright hair."
"You sure?" The fire witch hesitated.
"Well, wearing black is represents elegance, or class but that's depending on whether it's worn at black tie events, power, sexuality, sophistication, formality, wealth, mystery, depth and sheer style." Evelyn stated.
"You could wear it for Gary." Marina added.
"Happy Aphrodite Day, Gary the electricity warlock." Iris joked.
The six women chuckled, but Ember bit her lip and looked around her. Can she really wear such a colour for Gabriel. They just met, and yet she felt safe around him.
Claire sweetly smiled at her roommate, handed the black dress to the fire witch to try on, and looked for other dresses, while Evelyn walked over and waited at the changing rooms for Ember.
After a few minutes, the fire witch emerged wearing the dress and Evelyn just looked in awe. Claire was right. It clashed perfectly with her bright red hair. It was beautiful.
Evelyn gasped "Wow. You look amazing."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I'm gonna take a photo. If that's okay?"
Ember smiled shyly "Sure. You want me to pose?"
"Nope. Be normal."
Evelyn grabbed her phone, and took a photo of Ember in her dress. She sent the image to Claire and all of a sudden, the five friends looked to see Ember in her beauty.
"Well, it looks good!" Marina
Iris agreed "Yeah."
"If it's cool with you guys, I'd like to take photos of you all in the dresses. And when I try them on, you guys take a photo of me." Evelyn pondered out loud.
Blanche raised an eyebrow "Sounds weird."
"Yeah, but look at the photo Evie took of Ember." Azalea replied.
"Well ladies, who's next for dress try-on?" Claire looked over at her friends.
Marina shrugged her shoulders and walked around the shop to find a dress or two. She had grabbed a cobalt blue lace trim plunge neck dress. Evelyn could swear that dress looked like the dress from the Wonder Woman movie in 2017.
And throughout each roommate getting a dress and trying it on, Evelyn would take a photo of her friends modelling their gowns, and they'd suddenly love the dress.
Azalea had a rose pink silk 3D flower detail gown with short sleeves, a cinched waist, a full shaped skirt, a concealed zip and detailing flower appliqué.
Iris had an ivory and gold-tone mesh insert jacquard dress, which looked slimming and shined when lights were shining on it.
With Blanche, it was easy. The once witch had grabbed a narrow waisted silver sequin dress, with ice blue, lavender purple and mint green and a nude-coloured petticoat with narrow straps. The dress looked as if there were icicles all over the gown, and Blanche had also grabbed a grey fur coat.
Claire had gotten a cream chiffon gown with a fluted hemline, a deep V neck line, and shoulder straps that resembled the Greek goddess costumes, with a matching satin tie at the waist.
Now it was Evelyn's turn to try a dress on and pose. Evelyn and Blanche had scoured the dress racks while Claire and the others waited in the changing rooms.
It was a pale peach taffeta strapless full length dress with large side pleats to create fullness in the skirt.
When she revealed her dress to her roommates, the six women gasped in awe.
"You look so beautiful, Evie!" Claire exclaimed
Azalea agreed "Like a flower."
"A snow angel, more like." Blanche added.
Ember smiled "The belle of the Aphrodite Day party."
"I didn't really do parties. I did once but never again." Evelyn confessed.
Iris piped in "Until now."
"You're in university now, time to get out of the comfort zone." Marina encouraged.
Evelyn nodded "Yeah. This might be good for me."
The six women smiled, then hugged Evelyn, silently displaying their support for their new autistic witch-friend.
