Evelyn opened her brown eyes to see a man who looked to be in his 30's, dressed in a suit, his hair coloured dark brown, which appeared to shine in the sunlight, staring down at her, holding out one of his hands to help her up. Evelyn chuckled before taking it and being risen up to look to see the man had a hypnotic shade of brown-grey eyes, and a pair of glasses nestled nicely on his suit's pocket. Such a handsome specimen couldn't be talking to her... could he?
"Oh, no, I'm not a student... yet. I'm waiting for a friend. She's gonna be attending too."
Evelyn was completely shy about talking with such an attractive person. She never spoke to gorgeous people, not handsome like this man.
"Oh? What is your name?"
Evelyn's dark eyes widened before answering
"I'm Evelyn Blake. I'm waiting for Claire."
"Claire?"
"The Princess of Lunaris? She and I just became friends. I'll go when she returns."
"Ah. She's going to be attending here soon"
"How do you know that?"
"I'm a professor here. All professors are informed of all incoming students, especially if they'll be in their classes. Forgive me, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Percival Oswald."
The man... Percival Oswald... offered his hand to shake Evelyn's, who politely shook the professor's hand.
"Nice to meet you. What do you teach?"
"Potions."
He did not look like a potions professor. To be honest, he looked more like a student than a professor, since he was so young! He looked like those Greek gods in the photos. Probably muscular and gorgeous to look at, and quite adorable in those glasses.
"Ah. So, what type of wizard are you?"
"What.... oh! Well... I've lived in Caleste all my life, and I'm well skilled in the basic magical skills, but I prefer being a potionology professor. It's my calling. And you? What type of witch are you?"
"I only just found out I'm a witch after meeting Claire by pure luck... or chance... whatever word you want to use."
Evelyn smiled as she spoke of her newfound friendship with the solar light witch.
"Well, I know non-magical humans are allowed through the portal, but you are here so clearly you must be a magical being to be allowed through."
"Is that a necessity for this world?"
This has now worried her. If she could go through that portal, that meant her parents couldn't. She could come and go as she wanted, but her poor mother couldn't even come and see her. That felt and seemed incredibly harsh in Evelyn's mind.
"Yes. When Hecate went through that portal as a little girl and became Empress, she made a vow that no human ever be allowed into the portal unless they were indeed magical in any way."
Unknowingly, Percival had just confirmed Evelyn's silent concern. Evelyn sighed.
"So Claire was right. I am a witch."
Thew auburn haired young woman now felt incredibly sad for her mother. She has just lost her son, she had no relationship with her troublesome eldest child and her youngest might be attending a school in a place she couldn't even visit due to her type of species.
"Well. I hope you do get enrolled. You have the potential to be a fine student and a fine witch."
"Thanks."
Claire walked to find Professor Oswald and Evelyn talking, and slowly strutted over to the pair, and as she approached, he excused himself.
"Bye Professor Oswald it was nice meeting you." Evelyn waved her dominant hand at the professor as she and Caire walked away. Claire bowed her head and smiled at the attractive man before the two young women left the campus.
"Well, he will be one thing I like about this school!"
"He's a teacher, we can't, even if we want to."
"One can always dream and hope, Evie, besides, I saw the way he stared at you."
Evelyn chuckled as she looked down, hopefully hiding the appearing blush she was wearing on her cheeks. Her mind drifted into thoughts of the Professor pulling her into his arms and passionately kissing her, causing her blush to glow red, appearing like a perfectly ripe strawberry. Claire yanked Evelyn from her thoughts.
"Evie! I spoke to Vice Headmistress Evermond and she said she's willing to give you an entrance exam, but with those, you have to wait a little bit. Oh, and here are some books for you to read up on so you can pass."
Claire handed Evelyn some books that she was given.
'The Magical History of Hecatia by R.J. Koenig'
'Basic Magic 4 Modern Witches by Dorothy Molland'
'The Official Le Fay Academy of Magic Guidebook to Magic by Lenore Spellmont'
'So U Think Ur A Witch? The Difference Between Good Witches and Evil Witches by G. Linda'
'Familiars, and What You Need to Know About Them by Henry Spellmont'
"Did you take the exam?"
"Royals and generation students don't need to, everyone else does."
"Shouldn't that have changed?"
"There's still time. Let's get you home, huh? Your parents must be getting worried."
Upon saying that, Claire reminded the Australian of her parents, who must've come back home with breakfast by now.
They walked back to the portal and watched as her new friend walked towards the portal and soon go back to Elysian Harbour before the blonde began to walk towards Spells Parade and to a small cafe she knew about.
As the Lunaris Princess was making her way towards the cafe, she was struck on the head and fell to the floor. Two girls walked out of the shadows, one with striking black hair and the other with brown hair. The black-haired one wore a black blazer and matching skirt with a grey shirt underneath and black heels, like she was the Evil Queen and Maleficent mixed together, while her company wore a brown pair of pants, a black shirt and a pair of black running shoes.
"Looks like the Princess doesn't travel with guards."
"Soon you'll have the gems needed for the Grim Grimoire and the world will bow before you."
The jet black haired girl smirked evilly at her friend and looked at the unconscious Claire, before telepathically lifting her up from the ground and into the air.
"Just six more stones and I shall be the new Empress of Hecatia."
She began to cackle, and with that, the two girls and the hovering Claire vanished.
Back in Elysian Harbour, Evelyn had just completed her entrance exam which she had to send to Hecatia to be officially accepted or not and was reading the magical history book Claire had given her so she could earn her way into Hecatia. As she was studying post-exam, Evelyn noticed a light shining at her face, making her lose her focus.
Picking up the object, Evelyn observed it to notice it was shaped like a star and the stone was beautiful, with its shiny yellow surface. Whilst holding the star-shaped object, Evelyn grabbed a crystals book and looked for any stones that matched the object in her hand.
"Aha! Citrine. A yellow citrine, shaped of a star... Claire!"
