"R-really?" Lanie nervously responded. "Maybe, we saw each other unknowingly. You said you are from the city, right? I also go to the city, sometimes, when there's a delivery." she reasoned. She sighed as a relief when she saw Jake nodded and believed her.
"Looks like you two are getting close now." Kevin said jokingly as he approached them.
"Oh! You're here! We were just talking about random stuff." She said to him. Good thing Kevin arrived at the right time, if not, Lanie would probably get stuck in that conversation with them.
"What stuff?" Kevin curiously asked. Lanie almost punched him at what he asked.
"Just random stuff. I said to her that she looked familiar. Maybe I saw her in the city before when I still didn't know her." Jake said before he gave the rope of the horse to one of the workers. Kevin nodded at Kevin then, he looked at Lanie who was quite pale now.
