Kieffer arrived at Lanie's apartment almost out of breath. He wiped his sweats on his forehead and neck. He was too nervous about what happened earlier so his mind wasn't working properly the reason why he ran to follow Penelope and not just drive his own car.
He took one deep breath before he decided to enter. The door was open a little so he became alerted to any possible thing that would have happened.
"Penelope?" he called her while he was looking around. He checked the living room as well as the kitchen but he didn't see any trace of Penelope nor Jake.
"Where is she?" he whispered. Then, he came back to the living room. "Is this really the place?" he continued.
