"Can you handle it all?" Mark asked. Lanie looked at him and shrugged.
"Just by looking at how I am doing until now, I guess, I can still handle it." she answered. "This is my mission after all. How this will end depends on my palms." she continued.
"And how will this end?" he asked. He picked the dried leaf near him and played with it.
"We will win, for sure." she plainly answered. "But you know, not all wins are happy like you have always seen."
Mark sighed and gave the dried leaf to her. "Winners always have a prize to receive." he said. Lanie accepted the leaf and nodded, saying that she was agreeing with him.
"Your last battle is finally coming. Then it means…" Mark stopped. No. He didn't want to continue what he was going to say. He was afraid that if he said it, he would feel the emptiness early. After all, Lanie already became part of his and their life.
