Lanie's grandmother was the right hand of the mayordoma. When the tragedy happened, she was not at the mansion. She was tasked to buy something so she left Lanie there. Her grandmother didn't approve but when they heard about the Gerpacio's massacre, saying that it was already closed, she finally agreed. She agreed even though she knew there were chances she would meet those kinds of people.
