Chapter 5 - Unnamed

Henry arrives at the town church. The white large church gives imposing aura. He got off the bike and climb over the walls.

*whoosh!*

The peaceful feeling disappeared and was replaced by a menacing cold air that seems to freeze in its place. Henry stares at his breathing that became visible due to the coldness that didn't impossible due to the country being a tropical one and its mid-summer.

He then observes the place again. It seems like he crosses a barrier of normalcy as the white church became a red church that has a dangling human head instead of a bell. It has no eyes as it loots at Henry.

He quickly climbs over the wall again in fear. Once he climbs over, the church premises return to normal.

"What the hell is happening?" Henry asks and once again climb over the wall but he didn't step on the other side.

"Nothing... It didn't change." Henry confusingly mumbles.

He then pushes his head further crossing the border between the walls and the premises. As soon as he crosses the wall, a nun in red cloth stare at him with her red eyes and black teeth. Her hand gripping his head like she is welcoming her.

"Shit." Henry then quickly tried to go back but a huge mistake on his part on crossing again as the nun is much stronger.

His face became paler in coldness her hand emitted. Henry breaths in like it were his last making his throat glow in neon black and spit out a black viscous liquid on the nun's face.

"[Insincerus Tuus Hostibus]"

A chant to activate his curse. One of the two easy spells that can be used by anyone that has a black core.

"Aaahhhh!!!!!" The nun wails in pain as she started to melt but Henry didn't let a chance pass. He pulled the book on his bag.

"[Signum!]"

His grimoire burst to open and the red hexagram inscribe using his blood light up and started to spin fast. It creates a vortex that started to suck in the bloody nun. It wails only ended when it finally vanishes. Henry jumps back and leans on the wall as he slowly sits down still disoriented from the scream. Violet veins on his face run down toward his neck tell how bad that situation.

"Almost got Bloody by some Mary. Hehehe *cough!!* still alive... Let's get more inside after some rest." Henry got home. He only has one sigil at the moment and he needed to do more to store spirits.

----

Morning came and Henry wakes up refresh. Having two types of energy did increase his strength and mental health but he felt chilly at the very moment. He rushes to the shower to have some hot wash.

Riding his bike, he heads for the market. It was bursting with people. The fishy smell and fresh scent of fruits fill the air. Yells from vendors and noisy conversations from customers add to its lively atmosphere.

"I need blood and some fruits. I can't go sick for this week *cough* more lemon. *cough* shit this, do I have enough money for this? Haaa... My savings." He dejectedly said before lining up for a vendor.

"What's for you?" The vendor asks. He was fat that every chop of the pork makes his whole body wiggle.

"Blood please, and 2 kilos of pork," Henry answered.

"Robert is my name *chop! chop!*. You new here right? *chop!* This is the first time I see you here" He said with a wide polite smile.

"Yeah, just got back yesterday. I live in Manila for 6 years after high school. Can you tell me some news?" Henry then answers with also a smile.

"Ohh!! Hahaha! *chop!* nothing happen here for a couple of months. *chop!* just avoid going to the church at midnight. Some tricycle drivers passing by reported that they hear wails from women around there. *chop!!* but no one is brave enough to check those out. Last night, police-reported a wail came from the church that breaks the windows in the vicinity. *wrapping* here is it!" He skillfully used his hands without breaking his story time making it interesting. Henry paled when he heard about the report of what happened just 5 hours ago.

"Thanks! I'll come back if I needed more." Henry paid and left the vendor. He has a two-bag that has a plastic bag full of pig blood.

He got back with a frown as he heard the story of his adventure on the church spread around. Rumors became more exaggerated as it spread.

Got back on his house, he cooks two and a half sets of food. Leaving the half servings on the door before the backyard.

"I left food on the floor! I'll get it back once I'm done!" Henry yelled at Harbek not knowing if he hears him but continues to the kitchen. He sat there the bag of blood.

Putting it on a proper container and put one on a cap. He wraps a small piece of cut fabric on a stick. Dipping it on the blood he tried to inscribe a sigil on a basic paper to familiarize.

"This can't be done. Haaa...." Henry again ride with his bike toward the school supplies.

"What can I help you with?" A teenage girl asks.

"Do you have a self-refillable pen? Those that have bigger writing thickness?" Henry asks with uncertainty.

"We have one. Let me grab it for you." She left and later give Henry a pen. He smiles at what he has and left.

Back again on the table, Henry filled the pen's ink with blood and started to practice with it after familiarizing himself for an hour. He started to inscribe sigils on his grimoire slowly. Creating a dozen before stopping and opening the book of curses.

The sun started to set and Henry left with a metal knuckle and a forearm length stick inside his bag together with the grimoire. He enters the church and started to map it out while eating a burger.
