The moon started to peek from the gloomy sky.
"Kind mister, the church is now closing. Can you please leave?" A man in a white zostikon clergy member of the church. When Henry looks at him he feels like his smile was very forced and a feeling of disgust came from him.
"Can I stay here for the night?" Henry tried to talk to him.
"No mister, I can't." He strode forward and whisper to Henry. Then irritation that started to tickle Henry came from him.
"It's dangerous mister. We can't protect you if something happens. Even I didn't live inside the premises." He steps back and offers a polite smile before beckoning him to leave. Henry nodded in agreement and left. Once, the gate has closed the church that has a warm feeling descended to cold and lifeless.
"I need to prepare better." Henry rides his bike again back to his house. He ignores it as nothing is more important than his life.
He pulled the two-weapon he will be bringing with him later.
"I'm sure that this thing won't hurt a spirit. Every movie and fictional story have that and I won't be making such mistake." Henry then started to browse his book in search of a sigil or anything that can make his weapon usable.
"Haaa.... This is hard," Henry mumbles. Both weapons are in his lap. Blood coats the surface of the knuckles and stick as pulsing black mist covers them slowly being suck inside a small rune in the shape of a Norse Rune K (<) on the very center of knuckles and Norse Rune TH of Thor (|>) at the very stick stem.
Then the runes started to glow, he smiles and started to clean them up. It's already 9 in the evening and the night is still young for him to do his work. He then eats his fill after leaving a serving for Harbek who eats what he left in during lunch.
Getting some rest before the action.
-----
[2:00 AM]
Henry stands before the grey wall before the church.
"Ha... Relax, you can do this." Henry cheers himself. In full black clothes and a motorcycle helmet with visor. On his waist is his grimoire tied on a sling bag.
Checking his weapon, Henry punches out using the hand wearing the black knuckles.
*Boomm!!*
A small black flame explosion erupted from it. Henry smile at the power that rivals a shotgun blast. He observes the surrounding before climbing over again.
The head bell turns in his direction but Henry hides from it using the tree as a cover. 6 trees only have 10 years of age.
"Lure them one by one," Henry mumbles and picks up a stone and throws it just a few meters away from him.
*Tack!!*
*Screech!!*
A non-human wail came from the tree opposite of his position. There came a headless ghost wearing a brown robe with a rope-like belt called cassock.
"Hmm... That's a very old type of clergy garment. History... Right, I'm such an idiot" Henry mumbles.
Henry makes a very soft noise behind the tree as he strictly observes both the head bell and the spirit he targets. Making sure the head bell doesn't know he was there. Henry proceeds to lure the spirit nearer.
*Bang!!*
Once, it reaches his stick Henry stab the end of it to the spirit's chest making it freeze.
"[Signum!]"
The grimoire floats up again creating a vortex pulling the headless spirit inside quickly. It didn't have any chance to struggle and the head bell didn't notice such commotion.
Henry sits on the ground breathing hard. It was the third spell beside the making of his weapon. He closed his eyes and look at his magic core. It now only has about half. His very own recovery will take a week to fill up the half of his core.
"Haaa... Let's go back first and make a perfect plan. I still have 10 days to complete all of this." Henry then stands up and then runs quickly and climb over the wall before the head bell sees him.
-----
The next day, Henry arrives at the church while people passed by. He already surveyed the whole premises but no information can be found. He sits on the bench.
A quick siren came from behind Henry and a police car spots after killing putting it off.
"Can I talk to you for a second?" Police talk to him and Henry nodded while smiling at him. He enters the car and waited as the police browse his bag. Henry then feels as very observing eyes on his from the back where the police stand.
"New here?" He asks.
"No, I was born here but move away after high school. My father is Francis Karlos. I'm Henry Karlos." He introduced with the smile not leaving his face.
"Ohh!! You're the son of Old Francis! Haha! I used to pass by your family's bookstore. You know some nice magazines. Hahaha! Here! I'm Jerry Ignacio." He gave the bag back and Henry smile at him. The slight vigilance vanishes a just a warm feeling in there.
"Thanks..."
"So tell me? Why are you going around the church? Someone reported you as a suspicious person and I also observe you for an hour. I think you are searching for something" PO2 (Police Corporal or Police Officer II) Jerry asks.
"Yeah, I'm writing a novel. I need some idea and I heard about some interesting history about the church during world war II." The smile on Henry's face just shifts a little but still there as he talks.
"Ohh!! That's why. Go to the town library. There is a history of our town." He said beckoning Henry to get his belt fits. Henry quickly fastens his belt as his feet unconsciously trembling and hand sweating.
The ride didn't last long and they arrive at a small library beside the police headquarters. PO3 Jerry got out of the car and let Henry out. He shows him the library after reporting to his superior.
"I'll leave you here okay! Tell me if you need anything. Don't use my name in your novel! I'm shy! Hahaha!" He left with a little more reminder. Henry has a tick smile. He left his bike at the church.
"That sure is nerve-wracking..." Henry let out his inner emotion.
Henry got his smile again and walk toward the librarian.
"Hi, can I ask where the town history book is?" Henry asks and the old lady nodded and let him sit at a table. She left in a few minutes and arrive with a thick brown book.
"Here, tell me if you need anything." She said with a bright aunty smile. This time he feels her kindness oozing like a faucet.
"Thank you."
