All the numbers have been deployed to put an end to Jackson. All of us except Jason. Before we left, Jason was told to stay by Tyson because Dr. Animus wished to speak with him. I wonder what Dr. Animus has to say to Jason; is it important enough that he doesn't have to go on this crucial mission with the rest of us? But still, it's better this way. If Jason is not here, he will be safe and I can fight without any worries.
Being number one, I was tasked with the position of leader for this mission. Jackson thinks he can take on all of us but isn't he just overestimating his abilities? Since we are both number one, our base strength of 100 should be equal but he has about two decades worth of experience and training over me. I can not predict how much stronger than me he will be but hopefully he's not stronger than all the numbers combined. That can't happen; we've been training hard too.
The plan this time is to surprise Jackson and attack aggressively right from the start. Maybe we can take him out quickly since it's just him this time around. We're close to where Jackson is now. There's no time to waste, as soon as we see him, we'll commence our assault.
I rush onwards faster than the others and climb over the last mountainous slope before I see him. He smiles; he sees me too.
With all my speed, I rush at Jackson, I will hit him with all my strength and finish this. Jackson just stood there but right before I reached him, he closed the distance between us. Jackson extends his legs and sends me flying. It hurts. He's strong. Much, much, stronger than me.
Marcus and Tony attack at the same time but Jackson just grabs their heads and bashes them together. I gain my strength and rush at him again. I rush from the front and Bianca rushes from the back. Right before we attack, Jackson jumps and we headbutt each other way too hard. Will tries to sneak up on him from Bianca's side but Jackson just turns around and sends him flying.
The rest of the numbers try to take down Jackson but he just dodges their singular attacks and when he finds an opportunity, he sends another number flying. The top of the rotation recover and rush at him again. This time Jackson does not wait for us, he moves so fast that no of us can keep up with him. With well timed strikes, he crushes us, doesn't let us even touch him. He shows the world who they are really dealing with.
We can't win like this. The only way I can see us winning is if we all attack together in a synchronized manner. We all have to gang up on him and try to land a hit at the same time and maybe some of us will be able to land some blows.
"Everyone! Rush Jackson at the same time and try to push him back. If you get hit, try to rejoin the battle as soon as you can!" I yell.
Everyone nods, even Marcus. Marcus looks the most scared out of us all, I wonder what happened to him.
With great energy, all of us advance on Jackson. Jackson manages to take down six of us but Marcus, Will and I manage to connect our hits on his body. We push him back a bit. Everyone pulls themselves up quickly and we advance on Jackson again; not giving him a chance to regain his composure. Jackson manages to put down most of us again but some of us manage to land some blows for the second time. This pattern continues. Each time, Jackson handles most of us but takes some blows. We try our best and advance on him again before he can recover. This is a battle of stamina, either we will run out of gas first or he will.
After the latest confrontation, Jackson drops to his knees and stays like that. Both parties are immensely tired but Jackson is even more exhausted than us. There is still hope I thought.
Jackson looks at us one last time.
"You guys can still join me, I don't want to kill you. If you join me, I won't have to turn into that thing. What do you say?"
Will laughs, "Guys, it's just an empty bluff. He's on his last legs. Let's finish him off here and now."
I have a really bad feeling that Jackson isn't bluffing. The look on Marcus' face doesn't help either. He looks like he's about to get eaten by a monster.
"It didn't have to be this way," Jackson says regrettably.
That's when Jackson did it. He shed his skin and his blood solidified to form a membrane over his body. In front of us was no longer Jackson, but a demon looking creature, hungry for death, carnage and insanity.
That's when we all knew that it was over. This demon's power radiated from him. The radiation was enough to make us stop moving. We were trapped little mice waiting to be devoured. We will fall, Amphibia will fall, we will all fall in front of this demon. Amphibia's time has finally run out, forever.
The demon grabs Marus, Tony and Bianca; the ones nearest to it. He stacks them on top of each other and reaches into their chest and picks out three hearts. The demon stares at the hearts for a second and crushes them with a force that sends shockwaves flying through in all directions. Just like that, they were no more.
The demon then looks at me and the next thing I see is its arms extending towards me and reaching for my chest.
I close my eyes, I'm sorry Jason.
