"Don't close your eyes, don't give up," says Jason.
I open my eyes and see Jason land a kick on demon Jackson. Demon Jackson is surprised someone managed to land a hit on him. Jason uses this opportunity to pick me up and move away from demon Jackson.
Jason hands me a dagger, "Use this on my heart, if I'm the only demon left by any chance."
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"I'm going to turn into whatever Jackson turned into. We're going to fight each other until we die off," Jason says grimly.
Did I hear that right? Jason is going to turn into that monster and then die? He's going to leave me? No, he can't, I won't allow him to do this.
"What happens if I put this dagger to your heart?" I ask.
"I will die but that means you will be safe. Will will be safe. Everyone will be safe. Please do this for me, Miranda," Jason pleads.
No, I will not do this. I refuse to do this. Why is he doing this to me? How can he ask me to do this?
"I can't. How can you ask me to do this? Stop, let's think of another way to save everyone; you're not sacrificing yourself, promise me," I tell him.
"This has to be done, Miranda. You're the only one I can ask, please," Jason says.
"What do you mean?" I question.
"You know what I mean," Jason says like it's a fact.
He's about to go, I reach out to stop him but jumps away towards demon Jackson.
"Stop Jason, don't do this!," I cry out.
Tears run down my face; Jason is running to his death and there's nothing I can do to stop him. He's going away from me, somewhere where he can't come back. I just wanted to live in a peaceful world with him by my side but the reality is so harsh I can't take it. I would've gladly died in his place. I look at the dagger; I will not use it, I swear to myself.
Jason jumps at Jackson, he digs into his heart and transforms into a creature identical to demon Jackson. Jason is just a bit smaller in size, but other than that, everything else is the same.
They roar at each other and start grappling. The fight is something out of this world, they are twisting and turning, trying to make the other submit. Each blow by one is balanced by a blow by the other. They chop heads, limbs, body parts off and they just reattach. Each contact sends waves of wind flying in all directions. Sometimes they circle each other and roar after a while to begin fighting again. This was a battle of beasts, humans have no place in it.
The fighting goes on and on. Each monster takes a blow and gives one back in return. Back and forth they went, countlessly ripping through each others bodies. They're pretty much equal but I notice that demon Jason is losing. Demon Jackson has better fighting techniques and his bigger size certainly helps too. Demon Jason does his best to hold out. Demon Jackson clearly has the upper hand but there's nothing it can do to finish off its opponent. They have limitless reserves of energy.
Demon Jackson digs into demon Jason's heart and brings it out of its body. He crushes the heart. Demon Jason releases a wild cry of pain. The heart reforms. Jackson crushes it again. Jason screams out in pain and the heart reforms again. Jackson continues to do this and Jason continues to howl away. After the latest crush, Jason cries out so loud you can feel his soul draining from his body.
Jackson suddenly releases the heart; it goes back into Jason's body. Jackson stands in front of Jason looking at him. His skin reforms and he goes back to being a human. He looks at demon Jason with increasing curiosity.
"Son? Is that you?" human Jackson asks.
Demon Jason roars with fury. He digs into his dad's chest and takes out his heart. He uses his 10 000 power grip and crushes his dad's heart into oblivion. Jackson let's go of his life and drops to the ground; killed by the son he never knew he had.
