Chereads / Forty Thieves / Chapter 32 - Stop Calling Me Cassandra!!!

Chapter 32 - Stop Calling Me Cassandra!!!

"Are you a demon? A human certainly cannot live for so many years," my voice was calm as my eyes held his gaze.

"Yes. I traded my soul for immortality when I thought I lost you, Cassandra," his eyes had a hint of sadness when he said that.

"Stop calling me Cassandra!!!" I exclaimed.

He was taken aback at how loudly I exclaimed and composed himself.

"Cass.... Theeya, I had been trailing and following the descendants of the Forty Thieves for centuries. You are Cassandra, my Cassandra. I had been looking for you for so long. You finally choose to reincarnate again, I have waited for so long," his eyes pleaded with me as he stood in front of me.

"Show me that lifetime where you lost Cassandra. I want to see what happened," I demanded.

"Let's have something to eat first. You need some nourishment," he chirpily clapped his hands and a spread was immediately laid out for a feast for two at the patio of the bedroom.

"The servants, are they ageless like you too?" I asked.

He nodded.

That explained the magical spread in front of them.

"If I eat this am I trapped here forever, never to leave this place?" I had read too many mystical novels to know that much.

"You are already legally bound to me as Theeya James. Why should I bind you to this place? We are going to travel the world together," he shrugged as he motioned for me to dig in.

"Bon appetit," I said as I chomped down on the yummy croissant. I was famished.

Zaccheus watched me intently with an amused expression on his face. I did not care as I was enjoying the feast in front of me. I then noticed that he hardly touched his food except for the red wine goblet in his hand which he sipped occasionally as his eyes never left my face.

I should feel uncomfortable as he literally "watched" me like a show.

"I missed you so much," he said with longing in his eyes.

I shrugged as he had made his point repeatedly. I took a sip from my goblet and the refreshing taste from the crushed grapes overwhelmed my entire body. I downed and emptied the entire goblet and placed it down.

"You are not eating?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

"I don't really need to eat that often." His gaze never left my face.

"Do you sleep like humans?" I was curious.

"Yes, but very little," he replied.

"How little?" I pushed.

"Almost never. We only sleep if we needed to heal from an injury or to upgrade our level of skills," he stated.

"So you don't need to eat nor sleep. What else don't you do? Do you sweat at all? And do you expel all that water the same way and the food does it turn into excrement or your anatomy is totally not human at all," I blurted out without thinking.

"In my human form I am a man. I have all my manly parts and I can certainly perform my husbandly duties, my dear wife," he teased.

I blushed. My face and ears were burning and I knew that I was crimson red right now.

He said that he would not touch me unless it was necessary as he needed to keep me a maiden for the longest time until it was time to unlock the secret cave of the Forty Thieves.

Zaccheus leaned forward and touched the right corner of my mouth with his thumb, and raised that thumb and licked it.

"Blueberry," he cheekily grinned.

His gesture was so sensual and almost erotic I felt tingling sensation in my core.

"He's a demon! I must always remember that! I am being charmed!" I reminded myself.

"Are we ready for another show now? To see our first lives together? We were so much in love, my dear wife," he looked at me with his cloudy eyes, thick with longing.

A dull sense of trepidation began to form deep into my gut.

"I asked to see it, so yes, please show me," I tried to remain calm as the sense of trepidation began to grow into a lump in my throat.

"Come, we need to lay down. I want to relive this together with you," he extended his right hand and I took it as he led me back into the room. The invisible and silent servants whooshed in and whooshed out in a matter of split seconds and the feast spread just vanished, the entire room back to its pristine state.

He looked at me with that love sick puppy eyes and I felt my heart skipped a beat. I knew that after this I might awaken some dormant feelings deep inside of me, there was no looking back.

"Do you trust me?" He asked me as his right hand rubbed against the side of my palm.

I took a deep breath as I looked at his beautiful eyes and nodded.

"I trust you," I gave him a small smile.

He drew me closer to him as he enveloped me into a hug.

I felt a light kiss planted on my forehead.

Electric shock coursed through my system and I felt the room spin.

He lifted me off my feet and before I knew it he was carrying me in his arms and we were airborne. He was flying!!!
