Jack was a bit annoyed when he heard this. Doing something like this with him without asking, then saying that he can't go back and acting as if everything was perfectly normal after this was just way too much. The feeling of powerlessness overwhelmed the conceited Rothschild for the first time in his life. Ling and Noah on the other hand didn't even care that much. Noah was the first person to ask a question.
"So my first question is: How did we get here?"
"This is a good question. First of all, let me tell you something. You guys are not privileged or anything. Getting transmigrated like this is more common than you would ever think. Around 1 600 000 people go missing on your planet every year. Now, around half of these people will never return, because they will be sent here. There is a powerful spell called interdimensional teleport. Someone used that spell to send you here. You will also know the reason why. Only if you ask me though."
"Then tell us why." The one to ask was Jack this time, with a still annoyed face.
"Once upon a time, a very long time ago, there was only one world in the giant multiverse. This giant world was riddled with many miracles and countless races. This is where everything started. The first love, the first school, the first conflicts. Thus, eventually the first war... The legendary first war. The war between normal people and awakened. There were two types of living beings. The first ones were the ones blessed by the natural energy of the world. They were able to feel a natural energy which was called mana and they were able to use this energy to constantly grow stronger. Sadly, not everyone was able to use mana. The ones who didn't have the ability to feel this energy called themselves cursed. The difference was obvious. Surprisingly, the first ones who started this war were not the awakened, but the cursed.
They started a war after their technology was advanced enough to challenge the ones blessed by the mana. The war continued for hundreds of years until a certain someone with unrivaled power appeared. He was someone with enough power to wipe out one side and decide the victor of the war, but he didn't do that. He used his power to create other planets and dimensions then the man said:
"The ones who can't live together, the ones who can't put aside their differences for the sake of peace shall not live together."
In the end, he teleported away the so-called cursed beings. Ever since that day, everyone who has the ability to control the natural energy gets transmigrated here after they reached a certain age. This is also how you guys got here. This explanation was a bit long, but it was neccessary. Any other questions?"
"So are you saying that you use this mana to fly right now? Will you teach us how to use this energy?" Asked Noah
"That's right, I will send you all to an academy where you will learn the important things about mana, magic and other things. You can't live without that knowledge in this world. I will also stop with the questions for now as I believe that every other information can be found in the library."
The old man approached the trio after he saw that they didn't know how to react. This was understandable and the old man even felt sorry for them. Separating millions of youngsters from their families and friends, then asking them to forget about their previous life was indeed cruel. At least that's what he thought, but then looked at Noah who had a sinister smile on his face. Youngsters like him were not even that rare. Not everyone lived a good life, after all. Little did he know that Noah was smiling just because he found the situation funny.
"Now, let's go to the academy. Grab my hand."
The old man teleported them away without warning them about what will happen. The scenery changed before them once again. Now, they were inside a giant room filled with many people. Jack looked around and suspected that the building was probably even bigger than the castle from his previous world. The style of this room was very upscale with many marble statues. He looked down and saw the magic circle under his feet.
Noah also looked down, but he didn't hold back at all. "WHOAA that's a magic circle right? right?"
"That's really looks like a magic circle." Repeated Ling Mei with the same surprised face. Jack quickly signaled them to shut up. Suddenly, someone started speaking beside them with obvious disgust in his voice.
"Tchh, another group of uncultured humans."
Noah looked at the owner of the harsh voice and found a short man with a giant brown beard. Even his hands were covered with some type of fur. He wore clothes which befitted a noble, but that didn't help much. Noah just shrugged off his comment and countered with a nonchalant face.
"A talking monkey just told me that I'm uncultured. This world is full of surprises."
