Chapter 9 - Revelation

30 minutes ago.... He silently watched his computer as it's screen displayed the message [Calling]. After listening to Lena's story, he realized he's been looking away from the shit caused by her, Lena's mother, shit that caused problems for his operations and plans. Basically causing an internal conflict. He wondered why he didn't dealt with her, love maybe? He don't know.

But now it wasn't the time to think what he should've done. Now was the time to confront her and hopefully end this conflict, peacefully.

He kept watching the screen, waiting for what he thought was for hours when in reality it was only been 10 minutes. This was taking too long, was she purposely not answering his calls as if she had knew that he knew what was she up to, or maybe she was busy. Yeah, she was probably busy. Then the call was suddenly answered.

"Sorry for making you wait my dear Emil," A voice said as the screen displays her, with the usual smile. "Was not expecting a call this early."

"Wraith, what took you so long?" He calmly asked. "I was interrogating a hostage, you know? The usual? By the way, did you know that the WPTO is getting 30% off from black market sells?"

"Mhm" He responded simply. "Hmm, barely any reactions. Usually you will be riled up about this. So, what's happening?"

"The chemical weapon, the one we stole years ago, remember that?" He got a nod, "Did you destroy it?"

"Yes"

"Is it now?" He said bitterly. "Because little Lena told me that we had the weapon, and was in storage in one of our compounds, which by the way, was not destroyed by them."

He saw her smiling face turned into a sour one, "Do you really trust that little shit?" He sighed, still can't believe that she can't at least treat their daughter with tolerance.

"Do not disrespect our daughter like that" He calmly responded. "No, she's not my daughter, never was, never will be. The only reason I had her was so I can control you." That took him off guard, she's lying right?

"Wha- what do you mean? Our relationship-"

"A lie. We may share the same common interest, but you are just my pawn." Suddenly, red light flashed the room. "Honestly, I had wished that girl died in that blast, then I could've used you for even longer. No matter, I got what I need and you already have done what was needed. Thanks for your help Emil." She continued.

"So all the random attacks, and the weapons..."

"As a backup in case something like this happened, it's to put the blame on you."

"And to make sure I can't warn anyone, while you went off to do your mad plan of yours." He can't believed he was used, again.

"You got it right. How could anyone believe the terrorist that has lately ordering his men to attack innocents?" Emil was speechless, he could do nothing except staring at the lady who he thought was his love.

"Well, I'm off now. See you whenever."

The door to his room was suddenly kicked down as the call ended. Emil barely reacted as a light was flashed onto his face, blinding him. "Hands up Revolver, you got nowhere to run!" A man screamed. He reluctantly followed the order. As his vision slowly recovered, he saw two contractors approaching him. He didn't say anything, still shocked at the revelation. Then suddenly two gunshots rang out, pulling him out of his thoughts and immediately focused on the now dead contractors.

"Sorry for the late arrival boss," He heard another man said, he looked up, it was his trusted man. "Had to take a detour."

Emil blinked twice before shaking his head, "It's fine Francis," He quietly said. And releasing a sigh. "Better late than never." He added. He picked up his rifle and quietly observed it. He had injured a lot of people, and killed a lot more. All for the plan to take down WPTO, but after that betrayal, this doesn't feel like it was worth it anymore.

"Boss? You alright?" He looked to Francis who asked the question. Then he looked back to his rifle. No, he had come this far, he's not gonna let some manipulator to ruin his plan. "Yeah, yeah I'm alright." He finally answered, "What's the situation?"

"Bad, really bad boss. We got a lot of wounded. We are starting to evacuate as per our standard procedure."

"And our prisoners?"

"In the process of getting them."

"Order the men to leave the non important ones." He ordered as he walked past Francis, looking out the door to check if there were anybody hostile waiting outside. There wasn't. "Let's go, we shouldn't waste anymore time." Francis immediately went in front of him.

"I will take lead boss." He doesn't argue with the man. "But I have a question."

"Make it quick."

"How did the enemy know we are here? We have been very careful getting here."

He frowned, "I can't say it right now. As we have no idea who's our ally and who's our enemy in this chaotic situation."

"Shit...you don't mean?" He silently nodded, confirming Francis's suspicion. '"Damnit...of all times..."

Emil put his hand on Francis's shoulder, "We will deal with it later, now, let's focus on getting out."

"Right."
