The Man Who Wasn T There

The vengeful God in another world is me?! Wasn't it just a game?!

‘How did this happen’ The young man, practically a boy, looked at the scene in front of him. In just one glance it was possible to see dozens of people, more closely he was sure there could be hundreds or thousands of people prostrating themselves in front of him. From the center of the city square to the adjacent streets in front of the temple, with a frightening similarity to what happened in the Vatican when the Pope gave a speech. The young man sitting on a throne too big for him, inside a marble temple he could see expressions of happiness, reverence, gratitude and in some a small hint of fear. Not that he paid much attention to the others, his attention was mainly drawn to the group directly below the throne. This group was made up of people of various ages, from old men with gray and wrinkled hair, but with strangely healthy bodies and postures upright like poles, to young people of various ages including children. What this group in particular had in common was their expression, which could only be described as fanatical as they looked at the young man. The only thing that was going on in the young man's head, with all this excessive attention, was simply... ‘How did things get like this?!!!! I was just playing a game!!!!’ In a room in an ordinary apartment, in an ordinary city. A seemingly ordinary young man could be seen lying in bed with a cell phone on his chest. The cell phone was on and showing scenes from what appeared to be a game. With a small and intriguing coincidence that the young man sitting on a huge throne inside a marble temple was completely identical to the sleeping young man. ********************************************** Thanks to ImagineArt for the image

Just as I was drowning in my sea of doubt, I heard the sound of a hasty footsteps. The crowd turned and gasped in shock as Mason appeared, looking dashing in a sharp three-piece suit. His smile met my gaze, his piercing blue eyes locking onto mine. “Sorry I’m late. My suit didn’t arrive on time,” he said with an apologetic smile. I nodded and the priest began reading the vows, he turned to me and asked, "Will you take Mr. Mason Anderson as your lawfully wedded husband, to love and protect?" I tried to speak, but the words stuck in my throat. Poison Wasn't Meta, Until The Game Invaded The World

In every game I ever played, I was always drawn to rogues simply for the purpose of utilizing deadly poisons in my play style. The game Dungeon of Veritas, was an MMORPG game where the players would create characters who would start in a beginner town, and attack the mysterious dungeon. By completing floors of the dungeon, you would advance to the next one while collecting loot and new skills. The dungeon had 100 floors, and it was said in the lore that on the 100th level you would discover the 'truth' of the world. Theodore Hunt, also known by his in-game name Pestilence, is a 24 year old unemployed gamer who plays the unpopular class of Rogue in an even more unpopular way. His character was all about using poisons, and other Damage Over Time effects (DOTs), to watch the enemy slowly die while he had to focus on avoiding any hits as just one hit could kill his frail character. One day, while he was on his way to his part time job, a tear in the sky opened up. Endless monsters poured out of the tear, and pandemonium descended on Earth. The human race looked doomed, as modern weapons were useless against the creatures as they seemed to have a mystical force that reduced the impact of bullets, but then emerged Players. These people had awakened their classes, from their characters in Dungeon of Veritas, and began to repel the creatures with the use of skills or items. Theodore was now given the class of rogue, deemed useless in the game, but the effects of poison were no longer restricted for 'balance'. He would soon discover how powerful poisons can be.
