'Ugh....where am I?' She thought to herself. ' C'mon Lena... open your eyes' She said to herself as she struggled for a bit but she finally got her eyes open. Immediately she was overwhelmed by the bright light before her. She winced and looked to her left.
As her vision slowly readjusted, the first thing she saw was a chair. She raised an eyebrow, wondering what's the purpose of that chair. Then, she saw what's behind the chair. Prison bars. 'So I'm in a prison cell, great'
Her eyes suddenly shifted to the right as she heard footsteps. Multiple footsteps, quickly she close her eyes, pretending to be still unconscious.
"So what did the doctor said?" She heard the voice asked, which she was familiar with. Revolver.
"The doc says she's unconscious, but she is fine. No physical injuries" She heard another voice answering the question.
She no longer heard any footsteps, and guessed that Revolver and his men were standing in front of her cell.
"You two can leave, go get some rest. 15 minutes"
"Thank you sir"
She heard the guards walked away along with the sound of the cell being opened. And then it was closed. Then the chair being moved slightly and being sat on by. And then, silence.
She felt awkward, since she can felt that Revolver was staring at her.
"You can stop pretending now" The man said in Russian, surprising her, how did he knew? She let out a breath before reluctantly getting up and facing him.
"How did you know?" She asked back in the same language.
She saw him break out a tiny smile, "Hmph, you are my daughter little one, I know how you act. You do this a lot when you were younger."
"Right.....so are you here to just a strike a friendly conversation?"
"If you want to."
"God no" She crossed her arms as she said that before realizing she was forgetting something, or to be more precise, someone. "Where's Daniel?"
"He's safe," She sensed a but, "But, she got here first before I do." Immediately her eyes went wide and was about to spring up from her bed but she stopped as her father said the following. "Hold on now dear, he's fine. He got a broken rib but he will survive."
She let out a relieved sigh, "That's better than death. What about my teammates?"
"My men only found you and your partner. And the some other contractors. The ones from Red Spades. I'm impressed that you are able to work with a high ranking PMC"
Lena was weirded out, was that a compliment? "Uh... thanks?"
She hear him chuckled. "Well seeing that you are fine, it's time to be serious." His tone suddenly shifted to a serious one. "Why were you in the compound? And why did you and the others destroy it?"
She took a breath as she recalls her memory. "We were there to retrieve to the chemical weapon. And we were planning to destroy the building once we get what we wanted. But... " She trailed off. Revolver signaled her to continue, "But then, there were multiple bombs went off in the building."
"I see, and the chemical weapon is destroyed?" He questioned.
"No," She shook her head, "We didn't find it except for it's empty case."
Silence then filled the room, as she silently stared at her father's face, who despite the calm demeanor, she can still see the anger and disappointment in his eyes. He then shook his head, "Damnit, so she is really doing it."
"What is she planning?" She asked, concerned.
"World wide chaos, and by that, end of the world." He then stood up. "I will have to go and check on her." As he was about to walked out of the cell, she quickly stopped him with a question.
"Why are you doing this?"
"You don't remember?" He asked back.
"You only tell me that WPTO wronged you. But that doesn't explain your excessive actions."
He didn't answered immediately as she stared at him. ".....They caused the deaths of my friends. My best friend. And a lot of innocents." He suddenly answered, and then taking a deep breath. "All because they want to flex their control and make money out of the conflicts."
"....You are lying."
"I don't expect you to believe me, I don't expect anyone to believe me." He said as he shook his head.
"Then why are you still doing this? You can stop this."
He sadly looked at her, "I'm sorry my daughter, but it's too late for that. I'm way too deep in this path." He said as he walked out of the cell but before leaving out of her sight, he faced her one last time.
She stared back, waiting for him to say something. But then nothing came and he looked down. Shame maybe? He finally left.
Lena then laid back down on her bed. She took a breath as she tried to processed what just happened. She also wondered how long had she and Daniel were here. What were their friends doing right now? Planning to get them released? She only hoped that their daughter didn't know about their capture. Poor little girl don't need that kind of stress anytime soon.
She closed her eyes slowly and soon, she fell asleep.
It was peaceful.
It was then disturbed when an alarm, multiple gunshots and an explosion went off. The loudness of those caused Lena to sprang up from her bed. The first thing she noticed was the main lights were off. 'The hell happened?' She thought as she slowly approached the cell that was mysteriously opened.
She peeked out, and saw smokes from the hallway on the left. 'Whatever is it, it's my chance to escape.' Turning left and right, she saw no guards and ran out from her cell.
Lena followed along the hallway with the emergency lights lighting the path. She came upon a corner. As she peeked to see if there were anyone, she felt a metallic object poking her back.
"Hands up" She heard a rough voice ordered.
'Oh shoot' Lena thought as she slowly put her hands up.
"Turn around, slowly"
She did so and was now face to face to the guard pointing a gun at her. The guard then moved slightly to the right, and gestured to walked past him. "Move"
She started walking, and as soon she was halfway pass the guard, she immediately turned to his direction and grabbed his rifle, yanking it up as it fired.
Now she was struggling to get the rifle off of the guard, who were holding it tight.
"Let it go you bitch!" The guard screamed as he tried to headbutt her but Lena swiftly dodged it. She returned the favor by kneeing him in his privates, and quickly snatched the rifle as the guard lessen his grip on the gun, groaning in pain. Then, she pointed the gun at him.
"Where is Daniel Rodriguez?!" She shouted.
"Fuck you!"
She fired a shot between his legs, "Where is he?!"
The guard quickly rushed towards her but she reacted quickly by hitting him with the buttstock of the rifle. She watched him stumbling onto the floor before pointing the rifle at him again. "Last chance!"
"Alright alright! He's in block C on second floor. Cell 21. Just follow the signs!"
She then hit the guard in the face hard, completely knocking the man out. "Could've said that sooner." She said to the now unconscious guard before turning around and looking up. She saw the sign. 'Not far.'
She started moving, slowly picking up the pace and before she knew it. She was running full speed.
'Hang on Daniel, I'm coming."
