Chapter 23 - Chapter Twenty-Three

Sarise smiled at the staff as she bounded down the steps. She was finally allowed to wander around the mansion, Jacob having announced this morning that the smell of her heat wasn't as strong.

Both assumed the reason the smell of her heat had been intense was due to the face she was the future Luna of a pack and she had spent two days all but locked in their rooms due to it.

The last two evenings had consisted of heavy make out sessions and cold showers for both her and Jacob. Through the bond she could feel his growing frustration, frustration that she also felt.

Why the hell hadn't he just shagged her already! She was starting to honestly think the man was gay.

"Sarise." A voice called and she turned to see Donovan walking towards her with a smile on his face. "Jacob is looking for you."

"Where is he?" Sarise asked as she descended the last of the steps.

"In library." Donovan answered, indicating down the main hallway that ran along the length of the house. "I'll take you."

Sarise walked beside Donovan as they went in the opposite way of the dining room, heading into an area of the mansion she hadn't explored very much since she got here.

"Is everything okay?" Sarise asked, looking at Donovan as they walked down the hallway.

"Meaning?"

"It's unusual for Jacob to go to the library." Sarise pointed out, her sneakers squeaking on the marble floor.

"He's looking into something for Noah." Donovan answered and Sarise's interest perked up.

"What?"

"I'm unsure." Donovan chuckled, stopping at a door and nodding at it. "But he requested that you be brought to him once you emerged from the room."

"I still haven't..." Sarise started as Donovan turned to walk away.

"Jacob is having breakfast brought in for the two of you." Donovan added, smiling at her lightly. "He's in a bit of a foul mood this morning." He shrugged. "Good luck."

"Thanks." Sarise moaned, pushing the door open and stepping into the room.

The room was two stories high, shelves lining the walls and positioned in lines within the heart of the room, all of them packed with books of various ages. The room was dimly lit by overhead lights with two large tables within its immediate centre.

One of these was covered in books, yet Jacob was no where to be seen and she walked towards the desk, picking up a book and looking at the title.

𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝟎𝟔𝐏𝐅

She threw the book back on the desk, scanning over the titles to see they were all dated around the time the packs were formed.

PF stood for Pack Formation, the year the packs were officially formed and linked to the first royal wolf Justan and it was this the packs used to indicate what year it was.

They were currently in 3017PF, three thousand and seventeen years since the packs were formed.

"Jacob?" She called, tearing her eyes from the odd collection of books and looking around the room.

"Up here!" A voice called and she turned, seeing him leaning against the balcony of the libraries second floor as he flicked through a book.

"What are you doing?" She asked as he slammed the book closed, pinching the bridge of his nose and walking towards the spiral staircase.

"Research." He called as he descended the steps and walked towards her.

"For?" She asked, waving her hand over the books on the desk. "It's an odd collection you have here."

"I'm trying to find any information on the pack Alphas as close to 01PF as I can." He replied.

"Why?" She asked, frowning at the books.

"Noah is looking at dissolving the Zones." Jacob snapped, throwing a book onto the desk behind him and looking over the shelf again.

"What?" She breathed, watching as he threw another book on the desk behind him.

"He's looking at dissolving the Zones." He repeated, scanning the shelf again. "And causing me no end of headaches." He turned to her frowning. "I also hope you have more than a one worded question to ask!"

Sarise took a deep breath, noting her mate was angry. She needed to tread lightly.

"Is he's going to reinstate the Alphas?" She breathed and Jacob growled, frowning at the books on the table before he nodded in answer.

Sarise walked up, looking at the cover of the book he'd brought down from the second floor before glancing up at Jacob.

"How does he propose to do that? The bloodline of the Alphas is dead." Sarise stated, throwing the book on the desk. "The Cull saw to that."

"He's requested that I look into suitable candidates." Jacob snapped. "Suitable candidates, as if it's that bloody easy! How the fuck do I know what I'm looking for!" He pulled another book from the shelf.

"Candidates?" Sarise laughed. "You can't just pick an Alpha?"

"Do you think the original Alphas were naturally selected." Jacob snapped, looking over his shoulder at her. "The Alphas were all chosen by Justan." He looked at the cover of the book in his hand and flicked it open. "But do you think I can find what criteria influenced his fucken choices."

"And you assume these will help?" Sarise questioned.

"How should I know." Jacob snapped, looking over the shelves slowly. "I'm trying to figure out what Justan did three thousand years ago." He slammed the book in his hand closed and threw it on the table. "It's like trying to find a fucken needle in a haystack!"

"Is there anything in the Royal Pack that may be helpful?" She asked, picking up the book he'd had discarded and looking through it.

"Most of the information is stored here." Jacob growled, walking towards another set of shelves, looking over the spines. "I doubt there is anything in the Royal Pack that can help."

He growled loudly, stepping back from the shelf and pinching the bridge of his nose again.

"So, I'm here trying to figure out what fucken criteria Justan used."

"So, what happens if you can't find this magic list you're looking for?" Sarise asked, looking around the imposing room.

"I get a bollocking from Noah about it." He snapped, turning and glaring at her. "You know you could help!"

"Listen Jacob!" Sarise snapped, slamming the book in her hand on the desk. "I get you're stressed, but there is no point taking it out on me!" She folded her arms across her breasts and glared at him. "Unless you want to do it by your-bloody-self!"

Jacob grunted, running his hand through his hair and sighing as he walked up to her, wrapping her up in his arms and kissing her forehead.

"I'm sorry." He breathed, pressing his forehead to hers. "I'm struggling to find the answer to this."

"I can see that!" She snapped at him. "But yelling at me isn't going to make the task any easier!"

A knock on the door broke the tension in the room and Jacob moved his head back, looking at the door.

"Come in."

"Morning Alpha Marcon." Marie called as she pushed a trolley into the room. "Luna."

"I'm not Luna yet." Sarise pointed out to the young girl, looking at Jacob and seeing him give her a curt shake of his head.

"I've brought breakfast." Marie answered, pushing the trolley up to the empty desk and lifting the lids. "Madam Willis put the selection together."

"Thank you." Jacob said with a smile, giving Sarise another peck on the lips before he released her and walked to the trolley.

"Coffee. I could use some of this." He stated, looking at Marie. "Can you make sure there is a good supply during the day?" She nodded, looking at Sarise.

"Would you like a coffee as well Luna?" Marie asked as Sarise picked up the book she had been reading.

"Yes please." Sarise replied, flicking through the door and scanning the pages. "Jacob do you think..." She began but stopped when Jacob coughed.

She looked up, seeing him lower his eyes and give a subtle shake of his head before he turned back to the trolley.

"Thank you, Marie." Jacob said and the girl bowed her head lightly.

"Is there anything else you require?" She asked and Jacob shook his head.

"No." He answered, taking a sip of the coffee in his hand. "Can you pull the door shut on your way out?"

"Of course, Alpha Marcon." Marie answered, bowing her head again. "If you need anything..."

"You'll be the first to know." Jacob answered, giving her a huge smile and causing the girl to blush. Marie turned to Sarise.

"Luna." She breathed, bowing her head again and walking from the room, closing the door behind her with a click.

As soon as she was gone Jacob turned to Sarise.

"Whatever we discuss does not get exchanged with anyone else." Jacob stated, taking another sip of his coffee. "You are the only person outside the King, Queen and the Alphas that know what Noah is proposing to do."

"I had no intention..." Sarise began and Jacob nodded.

"I know, I trust you." He answered, throwing her a smile over the top of his cup. "But this is top secret. You need to be mindful your surroundings if you're discussing it with Amelia on the phone."

Sarise nodded lightly, looking at the collection of books on the table and turning to look at the shelves.

"So, is this library sorted by date?" She asked, looking back at Jacob and seeing him shake his head. "By Pack?" Again, he shook his head and she frowned. "Then how?"

"Sadly, it's just been thrown in where ever there was space to house a book." Jacob answered, sighing as he looked around. "We don't even have a decent recording system in place for what is here. I always meant to have it sorted out."

"For fucks sakes." Sarise growled, pinching the bridge of her nose like Jacob did. "I guess after this I'll look at organising the library properly." Jacob chuckled lightly and she looked at him.

"If you wanna take on that feat then by all means be my guest." He laughed, grabbing a piece of bacon. "But for now, what we're doing for Noah takes precedence."

*꙲꙲ ꙲꙲*꙲꙲ ꙲꙲*꙲꙲

Sarise grunted, flexing her shoulders in order to work the knots out of it. Her and Jacob had moved from the library to his office at lunchtime, bringing the books they had collected that morning with them.

So far they had found nothing that was helpful in anyway and Sarise was being to become frustrated not only at their lack of progress, but also at the mess that was the Intelligence Pack Library.

Hands grasped her shoulders, deftly massaging them and she groaned, leaning into Jacob as he worked at the knots that had formed in her shoulders and neck.

"Anything?" He asked, leaning over her shoulder and looking at the book on the desk, his hands never stopping.

"Nothing." She answered, sighing and flicking the book closed. "Goddess that feels amazing."

Jacob chuckled lightly, pulling his hands away and giving her rump a light slap.

"Don't stop!" She snapped playfully, turning to look at him as he lowered himself into his seat and rubbed his temples.

"Headache?" She asked, tilting her head lightly and he nodded.

Sarise walked forward, lowering herself onto his lap and reaching up to massage his temples. Jacob grunted lightly, leaning back in his seat and closing his eyes.

"Hmmm good." He said lightly, running his hand up her thighs and resting them on her hips. "Now that I know you give massages; I think I'll keep you."

Sarise laughed, slapping his shoulder and he opened his eyes, smiling at her.

"You'll keep me huh?" She laughed as he reached forward and pecked her lips. "Shame I was hoping to leave soon."

"Too late!" Jacob laughed, pulling her to him. "I've discovered your hidden talent." He gave her another kiss and threw her a seductive smile. "You're stuck with me now, warts and all. Hope you're ready?"

"I think I'll take you on." Sarise said lightly, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Well that's a relief." Jacob joked, kissing her again. "Even though I'm egotistical and condescending?"

Sarise snorted as he brought up her comments about him when they had initially travelled back to Intelligence Pack.

"They're traits I've grown accustom to." She added, laughing as he pulled her to him, claiming her mouth with his.

Sarise groaned as his fingers dug into her hips, pulling him against her and she wrapped his hair in her fingers, holding him to her as she pushed her tongue into his mouth.

Their tongues wrestled, each trying to dominate the other before Jacob won the battle and Sarise groaned in submission.

She ground against him, as he broke the kiss and ran his tongue along her shoulder, nibbling at the base of her throat and she ran her hands down his chest seductively.

"Sarise." He growled lightly, pushing her back. "We can't..."

"Mark me." She breathed in his ear and he looked up at her, his eyes blazing lavender.

"What?"

"Mark me." She whispered, leaning in to kiss him.

She felt him swell between her legs and she sighed in delight, grinding against him as he moved his lips down her throat, licking the soft skin at the base where her shoulder meet her neck.

She felt his canines brush against her skin and she sighed, pushing against him again as he sunk his teeth in. She yelped in pain when his teeth broke through her soft skin, feeling a trickle of blood running down her chest as he growled against her skin.

Without warning the pain was quickly replaced with pleasure as she ground against him lightly, revelling in the feeling of him between her legs as she pulled his head to her and moaned.

He released her, his tongue running across the mark to heal it before he carefully licked up the spilt blood. His lips ran down her chest, his tongue running between the valley of her breasts before be brought his lips back to her ear.

"Now you're mine." He growled.

Sarise sighed with contentment at she reached up to touch the mark at her throat, feeling him lick it once more.

"We should stop." He said in a husky voice, looking up at her with lavender eyes as he pushed his chair back on its wheels, pulling her from his lap and putting her on his feet.

"You're still on heat." He pointed out and she pouted at him. "Don't give me that look either."

He smiled seductively, standing and giving her a quick peck on the lips, stepping around her to his desk and shuffling through the papers on it.

"I need you to speak with Donovan about..." He began as he turned to face her, his eyes going wide as she pushed him roughly against the desk.

"Sarise." He growled as she, grabbed his belt and pulling at it. "What are you..."

Jacob grunted as she drove her hand into his pants, kissing him as she did. She felt him swell in her hand as her wolf began doing a dance. She pulled her lips from his, biting his bottom lip roughly as she did.

"Sarise." He growled. "We can't, you're..."

"Shut up!" She snapped, dropping to her knees and pulling at his pants. His hands clutched the edge of the desk, gripping it tightly as she pulled his pants and underwear down.

She watched as he grew in front of her eyes and smiled at the size of him. She shouldn't be surprised he was an Alpha after all.

She shuddered as she gripped him in her hand, gliding it slowly up and down his impressive length as she looked up at him, moving her mouth closer to him.

Goddess she couldn't wait to have this man inside her.

His eyes blazed lavender as he watched her for a moment before he grunted, his eyes closing as she ran her thumb across the tip of him.

She smiled at his reaction, laying gentle kisses on his stomach, down his length, before running her tongue around the tip.

His hand was at the back of her head, gently pushing her against him as his hips gently moved towards her.

She reached up, pressing his hips back against the desk to hold him in place as she took him into her mouth, gliding down the length of him, revealing at the moans that came from him as she did.

Goddess he felt good in her mouth. She could feel herself becoming wetter with every groan that came from him, felt him trying to move his hips against her as she brought him closer and closer to release.

His hands were back gripping the desk, claws gouged the edges, his body stiffening as she moved up and down his impressive length, twirling her tongue around him as she did.

He groaned again, trying to move his hips yet she held him against the desk.

"Sarise." He groaned and she heard a growl rumble from him.

He was close, she could tell. She felt him swelling in her mouth before his salty essence hit the back of her throat.

His breathing was erratic as she slowly stood, wiping the back of her hand across her mouth and smiling at him in a triumphant way.

He went to grab her but she stepped back, watching a smirk cross his face as he went to step forward, only to look down as he realised his pants were still around his ankles.

Frowning he reached down to grab them and Sarise quickly reached out, stroking him gently and felt him jump at her touch as he swelled again.

His eyes blazed lavender as he looked at her, a shudder of delight going through her as she stepped back.

"To be continued at later date." She breathed, walking from him and out of the room.
