I woke up to the sun glaring into my face, I must say that it's not pleasant at all. Something shifted on my bed so I turned to see what it could possibly be and I saw my little brother Regulus.
When I saw his eyelashes flutter I knew that he's listening.
-'' Reggie, I had a very weird dream, in that dream, I told my father about what I think about this family for which he tortured me. Of course, that's not surprising at all, however, I saw our mother lose her cool. Can you believe that?! The biggest prune in our family lost her cool! She even hurled a shoe at our father. Ha! A shoe Regulus! A shoe! Our mother did that. I must have gone crazy to dream of something like that right? ''
– when I looked to my brother for confirmation, I saw him crying his eyes out.- ''Reggie, what's wrong? Please stop crying. You are scaring me. Did you get hurt, are you in pain?'' -When I tried to sit up, so I could hug him and calm him down, the sudden movement sent a painful jolt through my body. The pain was so sudden that I didn't have time to muffle my cry, which made him cry even harder. –
''Sirius, I … I thought you were about to die. I saw you there on the floor, crying out in pain and choking on your own blood but I couldn't move. I was frozen in place and I couldn't move, not even after father left. I was so afraid when mother started casting all kinds of healing spells on you, but nothing seemed to work. Mother even went as far as to call a healer from St.Mungos, however even the healer said that the possibility of you ever waking up is very slim. The healer said that it's a miracle that you are still alive after what father did to you.''
- as I listened to my little brother, I suddenly became aware of the pain .-
''Reggie, it's okay, please tell me what's the date today? " ''It's the 25th of August. Sirius, you were in a coma for two months.''
-this made him cry again.-
''Oh well, I guess father really didn't go easy on me .''- with that I grinned towards my little brother to calm him down. Unfortunately, it just made him cry even harder. The pain seemed to be getting worse, so I asked him to get our mother. He tried to give me a hug, however, even the slightest touch made me yelp out in pain. After my yelp Regulus quickly shot up and got off the bed, with panic and worry shining in his eyes, he ran off to get our mother.-
*downstairs in the sitting room*
Walburga was sitting in her sitting room reading a book about possible side effects of the unforgivables. The more she read the more worried she got. Sirius was in a coma for two months now, the Potters tried to visit him several times and she was running out of excuses. The last time she tried to stop them she almost gave herself away. That was the moment when she realized how little she knows about her own son. She had no clue about his personal preferences, what he did in his free time or if he had a girl he liked. To sum it all up, she knew nothing about her son at all and there was no-one else to blame for it except herself. With a sigh, she set down the book she was reading and decided to fill up her cup with another portion of calming tea. While she was slowly sipping her tea and thinking of how to help her son, Regulus barged into the sitting room with a face full of tears. Before she could have asked him what's the matter, regulus rasped out the two words she was fearing the most.-
''Sirius…pain..''- before he could have said anything else she bolted out of the sitting room, and ran up the stairs to Sirius's room, hoping, praying that the book was wrong and Sirius is not actually in pain. Before she reached his room she quickly sent a Patronus to the healer asking for any and all assistance he can give her. Be it expensive potions or spells.
Walburga prepared herself for what may be on the other side of Sirius's door, however, what she saw was something she won't ever be able to forget.
Her strong, goofy son that always had a smile or at least a smirk on his face, was writhing in pain with tears escaping his eyes and blood everywhere.-
Mom.. -that was the first time he called her like that after years. The last time he called her mom was when he was ten. Before his father gave him a beating and before she took his father's side-
''Mom.. it hurts, I can't breathe. Mom … It hurts so much.'' – Sirius sobbed reaching out for her. Slowly she approached her son, grasped his hand and startled by how alarmingly cold his body was getting. Her little boy was dying, and she didn't have a way to help him… she could feel the wards alarming her that several people came through the Floo Network. She should have probably gotten up, she should have probably checked, but she was worried, worried that if she leaves Sirius's side for even a moment she might return to nothing more than a corpse. A corpse of a thirteen years old boy, a corpse of her son.
*meanwhile downstairs*
''Come on dad, you promised that you will talk to Mrs.Black about Sirius coming to stay with us for the last week of the holidays. ''
''I know what I promised James. By the way, are you sure someone's home? It's incredibly quiet here. Almost as if someone died...''
''Now that you mention it, this aerie silence is really weird.'' -the Potter family pair walked further into the house, which led them to the sitting room. –
''Dad? Do you also hear someone crying?'' -asked James looking around. Before his father had the chance to answer, James found the person in question. The little boy was almost identical to Sirius
''You must be Regulus, right? ''- this made Regulus look up at the boy, he ever saw only in pictures with his older brother-
My name's James Potter and that's my dad Fleamont Potter. I'm Sirius's friend, we came to pick him up to spend the rest of the holidays with us. – at my last words, he teared up again. Something's seriously wrong here.
- Si...Sirius he..-before Regulus could have finished his sentence a scream tore through the quiet house. That scream sounded an awful lot like Sirius.
- Oh god no...!-with a quick glance at my father, I bolted upstairs to where I heard the scream .-
