Rem was the first to wake up. She looked outside the window, only to see a few beastmen wearing the armor the knights of Leroy City would wear.
'They've arrived just on time.' Rem thought, shaking Samael awake.
"Get ready. They're here." Rem announced.
Izel woke up from the noise. She quickly woke Chloe up by gently shaking her shoulders. At the same time, Alex got up all of a sudden, mumbling to himself.
"I need to wake up, wake up, wake up...!" He mumbled, slapping his face a few times to wake him up fully.
Due to Alex's loud slapping noises, Chloe was now wide awake. She's sitting on the bed, observing Rem.
"If we didn't wake up, you guys would have left, right...?" Chloe asked.
"Yes, that's right. I wasn't planning on waking any of you up. It's so early in the morning. Kids like you three need to sleep a lot." Rem stated.
She was about to exit the door.
"Izel will follow Rem until Rem and Samael depart." Izel suddenly said.
"Alright, do what you want." Rem said before exiting the door.
Samael followed Rem from behind while Alex, Izel, and Chloe followed Samael.
...
Rem, Alex, Izel, Chloe, and Samael are currently in front of the inn. There were five knights and a horse there as well, excluding the passerby.
"Are you Rem? General Ross ordered us to guide you to our base." One of the knights said.
"Yes, I am. I'll be taking this young man with me. I'm sure General Ross wouldn't mind." Rem exclaimed.
"This is the horse you'll be riding on in this journey. Do you know how to ride a horse?" The same knight asked.
He was clearly doubting that Rem could ride a horse.
"I don't know unless I try." Rem answered, making all the other knights laugh excessively.
Alex, Izel, and Chloe began to give death glares at the knights. However, the knights didn't notice them and continued laughing.
"Hahahahah, sure, try, hahaha...!" Another one of the knights said.
Alex clenched his fists. He was about to punch them. However, Izel stopped him before he could take action.
"Think before doing, Alex," Izel whispered.
Alex held back his urges to create violence. He could only clench his fists and teeth in anger.
Chloe, on the other hand, was grabbing the hem of her shirt as she was smiling at the knights. Obviously, the smile wasn't genuine.
"Kekeke, I'm going to laugh my head off at this point!" One of the knights from the back giggled.
"If you really want to, I can make that happen." Rem offered as she releasing her killing intent at the knights.
The knights shuddered and immediately backed down.
Finally, Rem decided to get on the horse while Samael sat behind Rem right after,
'Weird... I don't think I ever learned how to ride a horse, but I think I know how to somehow...'
Rem faced Alex, Izel, and Chloe, ignoring the five knights' shocked expressions.
"If you guys ever need anything, simply send a letter. I'll do what I can and don't get into fights too much. Avoid troublesome things, make sure to not starve yourselves, and beat the cr*ap out of those who dare to mess with you. Just tell me if―"
"We get it, Mom. Don't worry about us. You better come back alive...!" Chloe said in a serious tone.
"Pfttt... Mom, hahahaha!!!" Alex burst out laughing as he clenched his stomach.
"Izel understands... Izel thinks Mom should think of herself more." Izel copied Chloe's example.
"Looks like you've obtained a new nickname. Haha, congrats." Samael said, trying his best to not laugh.
"Heh, by the time you come back, I'll be known as one of the strongest in the world!" Alex said loudly, puffing his chest up proudly.
"Mhm, sure." Rem said sarcastically.
"We must depart now. We don't want to be late." Another one of the knights said aloud.
"Sorry for the delay. We're leaving now, bye. Stay safe." Rem waved and glanced at the three with a sad expression before getting on the horse.
"BYE!!!" Alex yelled at the top of his lungs, waving back at Rem violently.
This caused everyone nearby to stare at Alex like he's a madman.
"Bye." Chloe and Izel said at the same time.
Chloe gave Rem a small wave and Izel did too for a few seconds before stopping Alex's aggressive waving.
Rem rode the horse and followed the other knights, not turning her head back even once.
{You seem to be missing them already. What a baby!}
'Shut your mouth. I don't know if you're being more useful or annoying at this point.'
...
A few hours passed and Rem, Samael, and the knights finally arrived at the base. Throughout the journey, nobody spoke a word.
"I've been waiting for you, Miss Rem!" A familiar voice said.
Rem got off the horse, meeting General Ross and a few other knights that were with her.
"Hello, General Ross. I hope you didn't wait long." Rem greeted, bowing slightly.
"Ah, yes. Good morning. I didn't wait long at all." General Ross claimed.
'It doesn't look like she didn't wait long. By the looks of how worn out those knights look, they've been probably out here waiting for hours...'
"May I ask who this young man is...?" General Ross asked, noticing Samael behind Rem.
"I apologize for bringing someone here without asking for your permission, General Ross. If possible, I would like for you to allow this young man, Samael to join the military." Rem spoke, introducing Samael to General Ross.
"Hm..." General Ross was thinking about what she should do, but someone interrupted her thoughts.
"No, you can't allow it to join the military!" One of the knights that guided Rem and Samael here yelled.
"Explain." General Ross demanded.
"I've been wanting to say this for a very long time. That thing is actually the cursed hero! I didn't notice at first, but now I know! You definitely can't let something like that join the military!!!" The knight explained in a hurry.
"Do you think that matters here? What makes you think you can choose whether or not I let him join the military?" General Ross questioned.
The knight has nothing more to say, so he just kept his mouth shut.
"I'll allow him to join the military. Think of this as a payback for your help, Miss Rem." General Ross smiled.
"Thank you, General Ross." Rem and Samael said and bowed at the same time.
"You both can rest in tent number 8." General Ross said as she nodded in satisfaction.
"You five did a good job guiding them here safely. All of you may leave." General Ross dismissed the knight.
"Thank you, General Ross!" The five saluted as General Ross walked towards the largest tent in this military base.
Only when General Ross allowed them to leave, did everyone else leave.
Rem and Samael walked towards tent number 8 right after while the knights from before followed them.
