'Huh??? What does he mean by that?'
Rem inspected Chloe's stats.
[Name: N/A]
[Job: N/A]
[Race: Human]
[Level: 5]
[HP: 100/100]
[MP: 0/0]
[Element: N/A]
'Come to think of it... I remember it saying that both Chloe and Izel don't have any names...! That's not the problem right now. Why doesn't Chloe have any job, element, or MP? Did she keep the body she was in from the world she was in? Is that possible though???'
{There have been cases where beings from another world are summoned here by accident.}
'Is that so...?'
"Izel. Where did you meet Chloe?" Rem questioned, facing Izel who's on high alert.
There was a long pause before Izel finally answered Rem.
"The village Izel lived in was destroyed by a group of bandits around a few weeks ago." Izel began.
She was observing Rem, Alex, and Samael while standing next to Chloe in a protective way. It was as if she was Chloe's bodyguard.
'I don't understand why Izel would keep on trying to protect Chloe. Her actions remind me of Yukino and Yukio...' Rem thought, sighing softly.
'I have way too many suspicions. I can't trust Kaito. Yukino is awfully quiet, not to mention all those clues I found about the people in black and red robes. They seem to be helping the demons take over Arka City. Ah, I can't forget Oliver. He's supposedly the leader of that dangerous Organization's adopted son. What a mess...!' Rem rubbed her head.
Alex stayed quiet as he was on guard because of Samael. Samael 'watched' the group's actions carefully.
"Izel was running away from the bandits until Izel spots a pond. Izel stopped by the pond to drink water, but that was when Izel saw Chloe fall into the pond, from the sky. Chloe just suddenly appeared. There was a huge, blue light when that happened. Izel saved Chloe from drowning in the pond." Izel continued.
'Blue light?'
"Were there anyone around?"
"At that moment, no. Izel can sense when there's someone around." Izel claimed.
'If nobody was around, then how could Chloe be summoned here, much less be a hero? Could the system be wrong this time...?'
"Impossible!" Samael interrupted Rem's thinking.
"I can clearly sense the Goddess's powers on her!!!" Samael yelled, causing Chloe to jolt.
Nobody expected Samael to yell since he didn't look like the type to do so. He was always quiet and puts his head down all the time.
{This is why you don't judge someone by their appearance.}
'You're right, bugged system.'
{You are indeed correct about the fact that I'm bugged.}
'What??!'
{The system isn't broken. If the information the system shows you are incorrect, well... I can't tell you this, but I will since you're...}
{Anyways, it just means that someone or something hacked the system at some point.}
'I'm what?'
{I can't say.}
'Fine...' Rem sighed.
'I'm sure that the time I was inside that place filled with nobody, but black wasn't fake. I did hear a voice saying there was an error or something. It was definitely your voice, 002.'
{I don't remember anything before you were first reincarnated into this world.}
'If what you said was true, then how did someone or something change whatever that's in the system? I thought the system was invincible...'
{...}
'Does that mean the memories I don't remember are due to the system's error or errors?'
{Cannot comprise.}
'What do you mean by that—'
"Hey! I know the aura of a hero. I've been around the other heroes before, you know? I was summoned here with them!" Samael butted in.
"Okay, we can talk about that later. Would you let Izel continue speaking?"
Rem looked at the rude Samael with indifference.
Alex's brows furrowed in anger as he crossed his arms. He wasn't scared to show his rage.
Samael instantly shut up, knowing that he shouldn't offend someone like Rem. He also didn't want to anger anyone else since he hated to cause trouble.
"By the time Izel saved Chloe, Chloe was unconscious. Izel had to carry Chloe to a safer place. Izel and Chloe spoke for a long time. It was nighttime and the bandits surrounded Izel and Chloe, successfully capturing us. That was how we ended up that way in the Elven Forest." Izel finished talking.
'I'm starting to not trust the system more and more.'
{You can trust the system fully.}
'Urgh...! It's problematic how the system can read my thoughts. How do I know you're on my side?'
{You Need Me.}
'One day, I'm going to find out your purpose. I'll make sure I do.'
{Hah.}
'Tch. I can't trust anyone now, can I?'
'Perhaps Chloe and Samael both came from the world I came from. Asking won't hurt.'
"Which world did you come from?" Rem asks, directing her question to Samael.
"You do know that there are rules I have to follow, yes?"
"What rules...? Mind if you explain? I'm not a hero, after all."
"Even if people don't consider me to be a hero, I was still summoned here. Those who got summoned here can't tell you the name of the world they came from. At least something doesn't allow us to." Samael answered truthfully.
"You can describe the world you came from, can't you? Spit it out!" Alex growled.
He clearly doesn't like Samael.
"I suppose... The world I came from is almost the same as this one except the vampires would rule almost everything there. I was a human back then." Samael answered, holding back the urge to rip Alex's throat apart.
'I can tell how that world functions from just hearing what he just said...'
Rem turned to face Chloe.
"Alright then... Izel said earlier that she didn't sense anyone around the first time you two met. If you weren't summoned here, how did you get to this world?"
Chloe looked at Rem with worried eyes as Rem waited patiently for Chloe to respond to her question. Chloe gulped before speaking in an anxious voice.
"Actually, I..."
