Chapter 11 - Chapter XI: The Meeting

Furleigh and Farah arrived at the house where men dressed in full body armor welcomed them, the girl seemed nervous and the boy was scared because of the weapons these men carried.

A butler waited for them in a living room fully furnished with chandeliers, a spider lamp, and a fireplace.

A few minutes later a thin man with long raven hair and a three-day beard entered the room with two soldiers and sat on a sofa in front of his guests.

"Who are you?" Asked the girl, not recognizing the man in front of her.

"I am Máximo, I know you were waiting for the leader of the government but I am afraid he has lost his head, I am in command until we find a replacement," the man replied.

"How he has lost his head? Have him gone crazy?" The girl asked again.

"No darling, it has been cut off by the citizens of the capital, there were many problems with his command, and the people did not like the Prima nocta of one month that he had been imposed to them," he replied with a smile that chilled the blood of his guests. "But that is a matter of the past. What brings you here?"

"The Dragonslayers have sent us, we want to know why the fairies have gone mad and seduced our men and taken them to the forest." Furleigh explained.

"Did the fairies do that? I'm really sorry, it sure was an accident."

One of the soldiers approached the man and whispered something in his ear, changing the expression on his face.

"Okay, it seems that the government leader decided to eradicate the Dragonslayers, for being useless whose services were no longer needed."

"What!?" Exclaimed the surprised girl, "So he wanted to eliminate us?"

"Yes, that's what I said, but changing the subject, your face sounds a lot to me. Have we ever met?"

"I don't think so," she replied, looking away.

"What's your name darling?"

"I'm Farah."

"Farah ... Farah," the man repeated, thinking, "I remember, you are the youngest daughter of the Kendall family. What is the daughter of a wealthy family doing trying to kill dragons?"

"It's none of your business," the girl answered irritated.

"So your parents wanted to marry you to a young nobleman but you dreamed of being a dragon slayer like your brother," the man said suddenly.

"H-how do you know?"

"I'm good at deducing things, and the more information I have, the more accurate my conclusions are, anyways, I've finished everything I had to talk to you little girl, now you, you haven't said anything or changed your expression at any time. Why is that? "he asked looking at Furleigh.

"Furleigh, don't answer, it'll end badly." It's already going bad, this can't get any worse," The boy thought answering himself.

"Is there something you can't answer for?" Asked Maximo again.

"I'm Furleigh and I'm just observing the situation."

"Did you say Furleigh? It sounds familiar ... I already have it! You are the son of Tierasu, the slayer of dragons, I am very sorry about your family, although I thought that you had also died."

"Who? I mean, yes, it was fortunate, nobody expected what happened."

"But if you offered to entertain the enemy so that the rest escaped."

"Um ... Yeah, but we thought we were going to win, we never planned a retreat."

"You're right, if we had anticipated that we would need a retreat maybe your family would be alive right now."

"Well, that's in the past, now I have to look forward."

"I have to go, I am very sorry for what happened with the fairies, in return we will send a real warrior to the ranks of the Dragonslayers" concluded the man, getting up and leaving.
