Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- yogurt on my shirt

I walk through the doors of the school to be greeted with death glares. Honestly, I don't know why so many people bully me, I haven't done anything to them. I don't go to any school events, I have one friend, and I've never had a boyfriend. I see Jennifer at her locker, which happens to be right next to mine, and I rush to get to her.

"Heyyyy," I say in her ear, making her jump.

"Sky! What the heck? You know how I get scared easily." She states with a pout on her face.

"Well, what can I say, It just too easy!" I say

I see Jennifer's eyes widen when I feel a presence behind me. I turn around to see the one and only, Luke Rill. I mentally prepare myself for the verbal and physical abuse that is about to come. I sneak a glance at Jennifer, who is giving me a sympathetic look. I know what you're probably thinking, why doesn't Jennifer help me? Why doesn't she use her popularity to help stop the bullying? Well, she tried to help me once when it all started, but they hit her black and blue, and I told her I could handle it and to keep herself safe. I made her promise that she wouldn't interfere. I was knocked (literally) out of my thoughts when I felt a fist collided with my face. I look up to see Luke's emerald green eyes turn into dark forest green, and I knew that I've already screwed up.

"Nerdbird, were you even listening to me?" Luke sneers at me

My eyes widen at the fact that I'm in for a strong beating today. Luke takes my silence as a no and hits me square in the jaw.

"Well then," he says while grabbing the front of my hoodie, "you better watch out, we'll always be here."

He pulls my face to his, and whispers into my ear "Get ready" and slams me against the lockers. I noticed the color in his eyes is back to the emerald green they normally are. He walks away, leaving me to my miserable thoughts.

"What an as*hole" I mutter as I grab my books from my locker.

My stomach growled as the bell rang to signal it's time for lunch. It seriously couldn't have come any sooner. As I began the trek from the east side to where the cafeteria is on the west side, I got the usual pushing and shoving, for gods no why. I finally arrived at the doors to the cafeteria when Beatrice and her squad of airheads come up to me with there lunch in there hand.

"Well, if it isn't little Ms. Ugly" She sneered at me.

"Beatrice, what a pleasure seeing you here" I mutter quietly but loud enough for her to hear.

"Oh well get going then, I don't want to look at your ugly face anymore, no wonder your parents don't care about you," she said shooing me away with her hands. As I turn around, I don't catch her hand wrap around her yogurt and bring it up to my head, and before I have time to react, I feel a cold, wet substance on my hair. I turn to face Beatrice with a look of pure hatred and disgust. She looks me dead in the eye and says "oops" like she's so innocent. It's only now that I realize that, like always, the cafeteria is dead silent watching this unfold. At that exact moment, they burst out laughing. I let out a huff and walk out the doors toward the bathroom.

I'm almost to the bathroom when I hear footsteps behind. Thinking it was Beatrice or one of the airheads in her little "squad" I speed up my walking, only to hear the footsteps behind me speed up to. As I was about to walk through the doors of the girl's bathroom, I hear someone call out my name, and it's not high pitched or girly, it's actually quite masculine. I turn around to see the one and only, Luke Rill. In his hands is the sweatshirt that he was wearing earlier. He had a sheepish look on his face as he handed me the sweatshirt.

"I-I thought you might wanna wear this instead since you have some yogurt on your shirt"

I took the sweatshirt from him with great caution, said a quick thanks, and flashed him a small before heading into the bathroom. I took one look at myself and groaned, mentally praising Luke for offering his sweatshirt, cause, sure enough, my hair and shirt were covered in Beatrice's yogurt. I then set off on the task of looking somewhat presentable again, but Beatrice's words and Luke's sudden change of heart kept finding there way back into the hurricane that is my mind.
