The two adults were stunned by what they had just learned, they had never thought that things like that could happen to such young children. Now armed with what they had just learned they had to make a decision, they had to decide on whether or not to keep the children.
"Ruby?" Silver asked, looking at the red-headed female.
"I-I, I don't know Silv, are we really ready for that responsibility? We're not even married yet."
"I know but think about it, these two could help us become closer and if they are too much to deal with on our own we can always ask the others for help, couldn't we?" he said, looking at her hope shining in his eyes.
"F-fine." she sighed with a look of resignation on her face, smiling lightly as Silver broke into a full grin.
"Come on, let's go tell them," he said as he rushed out and into the room where they had left the two children to their own devices. Walking into the room they were greeted with the sight of one of their friends sitting in the room on a chair, while the children were laying down in the corner of the room, the girl was laying on the little boy while he was leaning against the wall, both of them fitting on the loveseat they were on.
"What are you doing in here Jackson?" Silver asked, straightening his back and crossing his arms.
"Sorry sir, I was just walking by and I saw these two sleeping so I decided to watch them and make sure none of our more, less child-friendly members found them in here and thought they were intruding," he said standing and bowing apologetically.
"It's fine Jackson, just don't enter this room again. You know it is off-limits for you and everyone else." Ruby said walking in through the corridor.
"Ah, hi Miss Ruby, and Sir, may I ask why these two children are here?" the brunette asked, gesturing to the sleeping bodies across the room.
"We are going to be taking them in, and no I will not tell you why, it was hard enough getting them to tell us if you do get told why it will be from them telling you of their own free will, is that understood?" Silver asked as he walked in front of the sleeping kids.
"Understood sir. Would you like me to inform the rest of these two?" he asked, straightening himself.
"Yes, please do, and tell the others that they are not to be touched unless told otherwise," Ruby interjected.
"Of course, goodbye Sir, Ma'am," he said bowing once more than quickly walking out of the room and down the stairs. Leaving the two other adults two stare at the children sleeping in the corner of the room, making a split-second decision Silver walked over to the lights turning them off then closing the door and laying on the unoccupied couch in the room motioning for Ruby to join him. Shaking her head slightly she walked over and laid down next to him. The four of them slept soundly in the room for almost three hours when a knock on the door woke them up, the two children becoming rigid and wary while the two adults sighed and got up to answer the door.
"What do you need, Ryan?" Silver asked rubbing his face to wipe the sleep from his eyes.
"Ah, sorry didn't mean to wake you boss, but uh, I heard that you and the Miss, were taking in two children," he said nodding his head towards Ruby.
"Yes, we are. What is it to you?" Silver asked, crossing his arms.
"I, uh just wanted to meet them, Sir," Ryan said bowing his head.
"Why? What purpose does it serve you to meet children?" Ruby asked, tilting her head to the side.
"W-well you see Ma' am, I am actually thinking about having kids, or at least adopting some, and so I wanted to see how these two acted," he said rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"You do? Well, that's quite the twist, I remember you and your brother said that you hated kids when you first joined, I can see that both of you have changed quite a bit. I shall permit you to see them." Ruby said moving to the side allowing Ryan access to the room.
"H-hi you two, my name is Ryan, what's your name?" he asked, crouching down to their height.
"P-pine, Sir, and th-this is S-Sebastien. Y-you seem n-nice, you s-said you w-wanted k-kids ri-right?" at his nod she continued. "Y-you w-would make a g-good d-dad," she said causing Sebastien's eyes to go wide.
"Y-you mean it, Pine?!" Sebastien asked in shock.
"Y-yeah, I-I get a g-good feeling fr-from h-him," Pine said, bowing her head slightly leaving Sebastien in shock.
"Wh-what do you mean by you get a good feeling from me kid?" Ryan asked a bit perplexed by what she said. Sebastien then stood up after moving Pine off of him and looked her in the eyes.
"You truly get a good feeling from him, you're not saying that just to make him feel good right?" Sebastien demanded, looking more serious than usual.
"Y-yes, I tr-truly have a g-good feeling ab-about him," Pine whispered, stuttering her way through the sentence.
"You sir, have a good future with kids if Pine has a good feeling about you," Sebastien said, pointing at Ryan confusing him even more and shocking the other two adults in the room.
"Y-you accept him S-Sebastien?" the raven-haired girl asked looking up at him.
"Yes, I do. I trust you and your gut feelings with my life." the little blonde boy declared, with a trust born of years of hardship taken together.
"I-I'm assuming that i-it's a good thing then, that she t-trusts me?" Ryan asked, turning to Sebastien.
"Yes, cause if she hadn't I would have made sure that you couldn't even see her," Sebastien said, loosening up.
"Oh, o-ok. Well, thank you for what you have said, sadly I must leave. I have work to do." Ryan said standing and nodding thankfully to the children.
"Oh, a-and sir you m-might d-do b-best with a young girl," Pine said just as he was leaving.
"Th-thank you," he said.
After watching him leave the two adults then walked further into the room and closer to the children who were now back in their original position with Sebastien sitting down leaning against the wall and the back of the chair and Pine laying her head on his lap.
"So you two, we have come to a decision, but we will only do this if you accept it, ok?" Silver asked, breaking the silence that had encased the room. Once he had received nods of confirmation from both of them he continued. "We have decided to keep you if you will allow us that is." Silver said hopefully. Carefully watching the expression of the two sitting across from them.
"Sebastien?" Pine asked, looking at him.
"You've already decided," Sebastien stated looking at Pine, receiving a nod he continued. "Ok, I will go with whatever you have decided to do."
"O-ok, well th-than, in that c-case w-we a-accept you o-offer," Pine said, making the two-beam with joy.
"Y-you do!?" Ruby squealed, clapping her hands.
"Yes, because Little Pine here has a good feeling about the two of you and I trust her judgment more than I trust my own," Sebastien said nodding his head and smiling down at Pine who lay sound asleep, having passed out after telling them that she accepted their deal.
"So, I must ask what is your relationship with her?" Silver asked curiously.
"It's not romantic if that's what you're thinking, I consider her a little sister, after all, we've been through she is family," Sebastien said, running his hands through her hair.
"Oh, ok, Thank you for telling us," Ruby said, understanding why he would feel that way.
"Anyways I think we should send you two to bed, seeing as she's asleep and you look pretty tired." SIlver said standing up.
"Yes please," Sebastien said, shaking Pine lightly to wake her.
"Hm? Y-yes?" Pine said as she rubbed her eyes.
"Come on Pine, you've got to get up, we can sleep later," Sebastien announced once he was sure that she hadn't fallen back asleep.
"O-ok, s-sorry," she said standing up.
"It's fine Pine, I just need to be able to walk," Sebastien said, looking towards the two adults for instruction on where to go.
Realizing what he wanted Silver started to walk towards the door motioning for them to follow.
"This way you two." Silver said, standing by the door, watching as the two slowly started to walk after him. After a few minutes of walking empty halls, they reached a bedroom. "This is where you can sleep," he said motioning towards the empty room.
"Th-thank y-you s-sir," Pine said, bowing her head politely in thanks, then shuffled into the room. Once in the room, she proceeded to flop onto the bed, repositioning herself once Sebastien was laying down. Once the two had finally stopped moving and were sleeping Silver lightly laughed, Sebastien was laying on his back with his head propped up on pillows while Pine was laying her head on his stomach, with her legs and arms wrapped around his legs and waist respectively.
