Chapter 2 - -Chapters 1: Zeke-

-Zeke-

I look over to the clock on my nightstand. It read 5:47 am. Luna, my older sister, should be knocking on my door any minute now to "wake" me up. I haven't been able to sleep soundly for a while. Two months to be exact. But who cares about that. School starts today, and I am not excited, like at all.

*knock knock knock*

"Get up, Zeke!" Luna shouts from behind the door.

I swear she does this every day.

"I've been up for the last three hours, Luna!" I yelled back. "You don't have to do this anymore!"

"I know." I heard her say before walking away.

I grumble as I start to gather my things when I hear a series of buzzes coming from my phone. I look at it, and I see many messages from my friend Kristina, Kris for short. I sigh and turn off my phone, filling the room with silence once more. I noticed my eye started to hurt, so I went over to my nightstand to grab the eyepatch my doctor told me to wear. With everything I need in my backpack, I grab my maroon jacket and a muffin and walk out the door to see Kris sitting on my porch swing, waiting for me. I notice the clothes she wears. Only Kris would be crazy enough to wear a t-shirt and shorts without a jacket in Boston.

Kris turned around to greet me. "Hey, Red!" She smiled. "What's the patch for?" Referring to my eye.

"Hey, Kris," I say. "I'll tell you later. You ready for school?"

"Six crappy hours of our lives? Hell no." She said, rolling her eyes. "What about you? You ready to be the new kid?" There was a hint of sarcasm.

"Fuck, no." I scowl.

We start walking towards the school thought the park across the street from my house. Not long after, we spot a green picnic table, walk over to it and set our stuff down as we begin to wait for Jessie to arrive. In the corner of my eye, I see something move, so, as you do, I look over to see what it was. After scanning the trees that were nearby, almost expecting to see Jess pop out from behind one, I see someone who I hadn't seen before peering from behind a tree, just looking at us. I look over at Kris to see if she sees the person too, but she's looking at her phone, so I look back at where the person was, and they were gone.

"Weird." I think before sitting down beside Kris as we continue to wait for Jessie.

I turn toward Kris. "Care to tell me why you sent me so many messages? I was getting ready."

"Cuz." She smiled. "It's funny."

"Not really but ok," I say in an equally sarcastic voice.

"I'm sorry, my lord, I was bored," Kris smirked.

"I'm not a lord," I say.

"I know," Kris says, still smiling mischievously. "I was joking."

I laugh. It was a small laugh, but a laugh no less. We then heard footsteps coming from the left of us, and we knew who it was before we looked to see.

"Sup bitches!" A familiar voice greeted me as I felt an arm around my neck.
