Chapter 5 - -Chapter 4: Cassandra-

-Cassie-

"Hey. Cassie?" I hear my sister say softly while stroking my hair. "You need to get up before mom does so you can go to school."

I open my eyes to an unfamiliar room. We had just moved here from Arizona. It wasn't fun, and I'm not happy here. Then again, when am I happy now a day's? Anyways, I get up, get dressed in a low V-neck t-shirt and a skirt before picking up my bag and sweater before running downstairs and begun to open the front door.

"Cass!" My sister, KC, called, "Aren't you going to eat breakfast?"

"No," I reply in a sad-happy voice. "The pamphlet they sent us said they have breakfast at school."

I lied.

KC raised her eyebrow before beginning to say something.

"Anyways, sis." I cut her off. "I'm gonna be late, I should get going. Bye, sis!"

I practically bolt from that house. I run until I find myself leaning on a decently sized tree in a park while trying to catch my breath. I knew nothing about where I was or where I was going. At this point, I don't really know how lost I am. All I know is an address and a street name. Nothing else. I press my back against the tree and put my hands to my face.

"God please help me!" My thoughts scream.

I hold the necklace I wear in my hands for comfort. It's in the shape of a razor blade but it isn't sharp. Sadly. It's the only thing I have to remember my friends in Arizona. God, I wish I hadn't left.

I start to stand up and regain my composure when I hear footsteps.

"Aw fuck, please don't come this way," I say quietly to nobody in particular.

"I swear on everything I own, I won't last here." I think.

I notice that the footsteps have stopped and I look around the tree to see if anyone was there, and when I do I lock eyes with a boy sitting on a green picnic table with what I assume is his friend. I quickly go back to hiding behind the tree and start running again. I ran for a while until I came across a school. I checked the pamphlet, hoping I was at the wrong school. But to my dismay, I was at the correct location.

"Fuck," I say to myself before walking into the building.

I walk into the building and was greeted by a tall man in a suit.

"Good morning!" He said. "I don't believe I've ever seen you here before. What's your name?"

"C-Cassie Fl-Fletcher." I stuttered.

He looked at a clipboard he was holding then back at me.

"Ah, here you are." He smiled. "It seems that Jessica will be showing you around the school today. The office is four doors down to the right."

"T-thanks?" I say with uncertainty in my voice.

"My name is Mr. May if you need anything." He said. "If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

"Th-thank you," I say before turning around and following his directions.

Once in the office, I found a chair away from the doors and sat down and put my bag in my lap.

"I'm gonna hate it here."

I put my head down in such a way that my hair covers my right eye. God, I just want to be normal.
