Asher and Mercer carried the injured drivers to the ambulance. But Asher thought, "Great, I'm gonna get scolded if got late now."
In the library.
"I think Asher will not get scolded because of the gravity of this situation." Esther thought.
Xander saw Parker and said, "Oh hey Parker, I almost forgot you existed. Good thing I have a good memory."
Her reply, "Esther, I might kick this guy if he doesn't stop talking."
"Don't be like that miss Langstaff, I'll make sure you'll be the flower girl of our wedding."
"I'd rather be the choir for your funeral if I'm not the one who's gonna murder you."
Esther smiles at Parker, "Go ahead, I will not stop you. I will even help you burn the body."
He holds both the girls' shoulders, "Oh girls, I know that deep inside you both love me to death."
They both elbowed him as he kneels down in pain.
Meanwhile, Asher's worrying rises every minute if it weren't for the accident, bloodstains were on his and Mercer's clothes so they decided to go home. Asher silently said to himself, "Esther's gonna be really really really mad at me but she'll be mad even more when she saw me in blood. And I'll assume she'll assume that I'm using blood as an alibi."
Back at the library.
"Asher, every minute that you are not here while this scumbag is here, gives me an opportunity to kick him out. He might get the wrong idea if you know me." Esther thought, then she asks Parker, "Is the door not working?"
Parker answered, "No, the devil of a face is refusing to leave! He's latching on like a parasite."
"Girls, why don't we just sit down and have a little talk?" Xander said while resists being pushed away by Esther and Parker via the door.
"That's it. Parker, give me the broom, I'm going commando." Esther extends her hands.
"Finally." Parker gave her the broom.
Esther looks at Xander with a cold face. At full force, she pokes him with a broom in the face. Xander seems to be taking it easily without looking like in pain, but in reality, he's taking bruises on his face.
She looks at him in disgust and said, "Ugh, he looks grosser. We have no choice, call the cops."
Xander runs away, much to Esther's relief she puts the broom away. She sighed, "Asher, I will definitely let you off the hook for your tardiness, and I should have really called the cops in case that creep comes back."
"Yeah... Including the fact that I now understand why you sensed a bad omen..." Parker replied.
After a mishap at the library, Asher and Mercer arrived without Xander's appearing anywhere.
"So this is your cousin?" Esther asks.
"Yeah..." Asher replied, "By chance, we saw two crashed vehicles, and injured drivers inside each vehicle. So we helped them, and it took us a while to get here..."
After a few minutes of silence, Mercer starts to sweat, Asher's waiting for a response, Parker wondering why Esther's taking so long to answer, and Esther's answer,
"I see... Because of your altruistic acts, I will take it as a valid excuse. We also had some... Difficulties of our own as well, so there's not much for you to apologize."
"Difficulties? What was it?"
"You don't want to know."
Parker stood up and greeted, "Hi Mercer! I'm Parker Langstaff, and that girl all you people feared so much is Esther Violette, the acting librarian."
"Nice to meet you too." Mercer replied, "Who knew she would be the talk of the town in just a week? And her teaching skills, Asher's writing mastery is gonna skyrocket!"
"I know, but I hope he can tolerate Esther's behavior."
"Are you kidding? Asher is the kind of guy who never loses his temper that easily."
"Hmm, what else?"
"He's a hard-working man, someone you can trust the most, and he never breaks his promises."
"Wow, he sounds like a good boy."
Esther looks at Asher in the eye, "It's true, I can see it in him. Although I already knew that."
"I guess we should continue the lesson." Asher insisted.
"My words exactly."
They started off as Mercer picks a fantasy book, and Parker returns to the counter watching if Xander comes back.
Esther asked Asher, "What genres are you writing about?"
"Horror and Humor."
"Ok, Horror includes fear, gore, and everything terrifying. Not for the squeamish, cowardly, and definitely for those who looked like they're going to have a cardiac arrest. It can merge with other genres but the hardest to merge with is Humor..."
"You don't like laughing that much do you?"
"Pop culture references are the ones I'd like to put the nuclear missiles in to. I'm that pessimistic, and it might be possible that you'll find a girl who is negative like me, but not another me."
"Of course there's no other you. Because you're the only you in this world. There may be people who look like you, act like you, dress like you, or hunt down people because they did something stupid. But they have one flaw, they're not you."
"Mmmm... Ehem! Where were we? Right... Humor is where you laugh, they laugh, everyone laughs except for the one who's being laughed at. For writers or comedians, they need to have a quick mind for a humorous story or joke or it'll take forever."
"I think I can do this."
"You need to. Because you'll only be writing a story for two hours, no questions asked."
"That sounds hard, but might as well give it a go."
"Good. Now remember--"
Suddenly Esther heard a certain noise outside, she knew that it's trouble so she said to Asher, "Don't leave and write now."
She goes to the entrance door, saw Parker and Xander of all people, arguing
"You got to be joking, I better help Parker with the insults. That creep doesn't take her seriously, due to her... Anyway."
Parker is irritated because of the idiotic look Xander is giving to her even with all the insults, he looks like a goat that lost his hearing.
"You better leave, don't make me call the cops!" Parker warns the ignorant creep.
"Please Parker, I just to talk with my future wife. What's the harm in that? I'm the Romeo and she is my Juliet."
"The harm in it is that she's gonna be the one to cremate your body because of me ending you."
Esther cuts in, "Alright, that's enough Parker. I'll take it from here. If this is a Romeo and Juliet story, you might as well be Paris."
"Ah Esther, finally you've come to talk to your--"
She hits Xander with a book straight to the nose. Esther takes the book back, pulls Parker to the library, and closed the entrance and exit door.
Xander's nose starts to bleed, his temper starts to show as he punches the entrance door and shouts, "COME OUT YOU WITCH! I'M GONNA BEAT YOU UP AND MAKE YOU PAY!"
Esther immediately went up to the rooftop and dropped a few books on Xander's head, making him unconscious while Parker opens the door and takes the dropped books.
Two hours later, Xander wakes up and continues to punch the door causing readers inside the library to be frightened. Asher also noticed the noise outside, he asked,
"What's with the drunk man?"
"By drunk, you mean a delusional and possessed kleptomaniac? Well, he wants me to be his, 'future wife'." Esther answered.
"Should I do something about it? I'm already done."
"Hmm... Let me think about it."
When Xander stops punching the door, he starts punching the windows.
Mercer begins to worry, "Uhh guys, I think he might get in if it weren't for the punching door not working out for him."
Xander punched so hard that the window glass was starting to break.
Esther tells Asher, "Okay he's broken library property, Asher take him out."
Asher opens the exit door and whistles at Xander.
"Are you okay?" Asher asked.
"Does it look like I'm okay to you!?"
"You do know that you're destroying library property. That's wrong."
"Shut up!" Xander continues to punch the window pane.
Asher sighs, "I guess there's no way to reason with you."
He knocked Xander out with his fist and dragged the unconscious body inside the library.
Esther claps for Asher's performance, Mercer's eyes widened at her reaction.
"You're probably thinking..." Parker said to Mercer.
"Yeah, what the rumors said are both true and false. She may not be a demon, yet she acts like one."
"Now tie him up before he causes any tantrum," Esther ordered.
When Xander woke up, he noticed that he was tied up on a chair inside a car. He heard Esther's voice,
"Please remind his parents that I politely decline his marriage proposal. He still attempts to make me fall in love with him which doesn't work."
