"So where exactly are we heading?" Steven asked, leaning forward against the ship's railings.
"There's supposedly some hidden islands on this floor and Felix and Aoi are invested in finding them." I answered, staring out into the ocean as the ship glided across the sea.
"Interesting. Well wake me up when we get there." Steven said, stepped back from the railings.
"Will do." I answered, waving goodbye as Steven walked into the ship's interior.
It was surprisingly quiet despite how many people were on the ship. It was pretty early in the morning though so I guess everyone was just tired. There were only around ten people currently on the deck at the moment, excluding me. Aoi and Felix were two of the people here and they were the ones at the back of the ship. Aoi was the one steering the ship while Felix was reading the map he made that supposedly led towards the secret islands.
"I wonder how long it'll take for us to reach the islands." I said to myself, returning my attention to the ocean.
"Not even the captain has an answer for that question."
A tall man stood next to me carrying a large barrel. On his arms, he wore wrappings that went all the way to his elbows. He had short brown spiky hair that was raised up by a brown headband. His blue eyes shined like the sea as I observed him.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I'm Vylan, the right hand man of Aoi." Vylan said with a smile, extending his hand so I could shake it.
"John. Pleasure to me you." I said, reaching my hand out so I could shake his.
"I appreciate you telling me but you really didn't have to. Everyone in the tree knows of the Big Four Rookies!" Vylan laughed.
I gave Vylan a confused look, "Big Four Rookies?"
Vylan gave me a surprised look, "yeah, you guys are the best rookies the tree has gotten in ages!"
"And these people are?"
"Well there's Lady of Steel Aisen, Luminescent Prisma, Unyielding Jai, and Wild Card John which is you."
Everyone had a pretty cool title. Honestly, I had no problem being called a wild card. That was what Megumi called the type of magic I specialize in so hearing it reminds me of her and Katsu.
"Captain!"
Vylan and I turned our heads towards the crewmate standing at the crow's nest. He was pointing in the direction where the ship was heading which showed thick fog clouds which were impossible for me to see through.
"We'll be fine, right?" I asked, looking over at Vylan with a worried look.
"Aoi's the best captain in the tree. Of course we'll be fine! Probably."
