We had currently reached floor five. It surprisingly only took up two weeks since we hadn't decided to get side tracked. The last two floors didn't have any towns to begin with so it wasn't like we could get side tracked unless we really wanted to see what was inside some cave.
"Hey, Alice. I know this is coming out of nowhere but remember when you told me about how we had just reached floor two?" I asked.
"Vaguely, yeah. I was completely lying to you about that. I just wanted to keep as much distance between me and my father." Alice said.
"You must really hate him."
"You have no idea."
I slowed down a little to take in what Alice had told me. I didn't know what Alice's dad was like but it was clear he wasn't a nice guy.
I quickly caught up to Alice and the others just in time for us to arrive on floor six. The forest that was abundant on the previous floors seemed to have shrunk to just a couple large patches. The rest was just grassy hills which made the place look nice.
"So what's floor ten like?" Emma asked.
"Oh it's great there! Unfortunately past floor ten is my past jurisdiction so that's as high as I can patrol. Same goes with Jyn." Morgan responded.
Emma tilted her head in confusion, "Jyn?"
"He's the other person that guards the first ten floors. Since this is where most the weak adventurers are, a requirement of two floor guardians has been set."
Hearing Jyn's name brought back not so pleasant memories. Specifically about all of the Ren clones and the scars on my arm. If Jyn and his guild weren't there, I doubt I would've been able to return that jewel back to Eli.
"So what's Jyn been up to recently?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"No clue. I'm pretty sure he hates being around me." Morgan responded.
"How lovely."
