Alice's face was completely blank as she stood there. I got up off the ground and tapped her shoulder to see if she was ok. When I made contact with her, a small bolt of lightning zapped my hand.
"Ow!" I yelled, shaking my hand in pain.
My pain must have snapped Alice out of her daze because she was now looking at me with color in her eyes again. Though now she looked completely confused.
"So what kind of thing did you fight? Something revolving around lightning magic?" I asked.
"It's not important." She said, avoiding eye contact.
I tilted my head a little as she walked by me. She was wearing some kind of necklace I had never seen before. I let out a sigh and shrugged my shoulders. If Alice didn't want to tell me then I wouldn't try to pry.
The empty void remained silent for a moment. All that silence abruptly came to an end when the ground below us began to shake. I wobbled a little and almost fell over but Alice caught me by the back of my cloak.
"I see what that old man did." Alice said, her face practically screamed that she was pissed.
"What? What did the old man do?!" I asked.
Alice pointed towards the rising water in front of us. A monster of which I had never seen before was emerging from the water in front of us. On its arms you could see two fins, the one closest to its hand was larger than the other. Though both fins were still long, almost sword like.
"What is that thing?" I asked.
Before Alice could even respond, the monster had appeared in front of me and hit me away from Alice. As I flew backwards, I ended up bouncing off the ground. By the time I finally stopped moving, the monster was already behind me and kicked me all the way back to Alice.
"Are you just gonna stand there and watch or are you going to help me?" I asked, still laying face first on the ground.
