"You two have been hanging out together a lot more than usual. Anything interesting happen to the two of you?" Serene asked.
I was sure I knew where this conversation was heading and let out a small sigh. I shook my head which caused Serene to seem a little sad.
"I'm sixteen, Serene. Alice is probably somewhere in her twenties because I've seen her drink before." I said.
Alice punched me in the back of the head and turned away from me. I gave her a funny look before raising myself back up. Serene seemed confused by what I said and twisted her head. I was confused by her look and twisted my head as well.
"You said she's somewhere in her twenties. That's not true though because she told me that she was seventeen." Serene said.
That definitely explained why she looked so young. I turned back to face Alice and lowered my head. Alice let out a small sigh and shrugged.
"I don't actually drink beverages at the inn. I actually just get a normal drink and play along with everyone else." Alice said.
A silence filled the room but was broken shortly with a knock on the door. We all turned towards the door and looked at it for a moment. On the other side of the door was a familiar voice. It was Morgan.
I walked over to the door and opened it up. Morgan was standing there with scratched up gear and Chuck alongside someone else was right behind him.
"We've returned from our unexpected mission. The party is starting tomorrow night so I hope you're ready. It'll take a while to get there so it's best we leave at midday." Morgan said.
Morgan entered our room and walked towards the couch. He sat down and suddenly fell asleep. We all stared blankly at Morgan for a moment until Chuck cleared his throat.
"Sorry about Morgan. Floor Nine happened to be a lot harder than we thought it was. Well not hard as much tiring I should say." Chuck sighed.
We all looked at him with curiosity about what happened but Chuck wasn't saying anything. The person next to him let out a small sigh and cleared his throat.
"The monster was extremely fast and could heal almost all the damage we could deal to it. The monster itself wasn't too strong though, it only felt like getting hit with a wooden sword. I feel bad for Chuck though, it's like that monster had some personal grudge against him." The man said with a smile.
I was about to say something but stopped myself. 'Did they just say that they made it to the ninth floor? So that's why Morgan left, but if they're on the ninth floor then why is the third floor not opened yet?' I thought.
Morgan suddenly jumped out of the couch and looked completely refreshed. We all gave him a strange look for a bit before turning back to face the man.
"It's getting late captain, maybe we should head back home for the day?" The man asked.
"I'll have to agree on this one, Leo. Let's get going before it gets too late. See you guys tomorrow!" Morgan said, walking out the door with his small group.
