Chapter 73 - Pain

My lungs felt like they were about to burst. I couldn't even pick myself up from how tired I was. Everything was in pain and all Alice did was sit there and watch.

"With where you're at now there's no way you'll be able to learn the magic move I showed you. It consumes more stamina then you have. Your body wouldn't be able to handle the pressure." Alice said, throwing me a stamina potion.

It was early morning and Serene was still sleeping. Alice had picked up yesterday where she left off and continued teaching me how to use magic. She had realized I wasn't yet strong enough to use that spell so she had begun training my magic skills.

"Everything hurts... can we take a small break so I can breath please?" I said, breathing heavily.

Alice gave me a smile and nodded. She walked over to me and helped me to my feet. She walked me over to a wall and put me against it.

"Welcome to the world of advanced magic, it'll be painful in the beginning but you'll eventually adjust to it." Alice said.

I let out a deep breath and thumped my head against the wall. Last time I trained to learn magic I never had much trouble with it. I let out a small sigh and got back on my feet.

I raised my arm and pointed it towards the sky. I began to think of what spell I should cast and began thinking of elements. Rings began to surround my arm and wind began to pick up. As I continued to think of something the rings suddenly vanished and I collapsed on the ground.

"That's odd, you didn't even use a spell yet you collapsed on the ground from exhaustion. What were you thinking about using." Alice asked, walking over to me.

My hand felt warm for some reason. I picked myself up and opened it up and saw a multicolored sphere levitating. Alice seemed to notice this and gave a strange look. The sphere suddenly vanished and the warmth I felt from it was gone as well.

"What was that thing? I was trying to think of some element to use but couldn't find the one I was looking for." I said.

"If I had to take a guess I'd say that was some form of unique magic. Though I've never seen a form of magic that has as many colors as yours did. The most I've seen were two that being red and yellow." Alice said.

I looked at my hand for a little bit longer trying to figure out what I did but couldn't come up with anything. I let out a small sigh and put my hands into my pockets.

"I think we've done enough for now. Want to go explore more of the town today?" Alice asked.

I didn't have anything better to do so I nodded. Alice gave me a smile before walking out the alleyway we were in leaving me alone so I'd have to catch up to her.
