Chapter 65 - Home away from Home

After everyone had changed back to their armor Morgan led us to where we would be staying for the time we would be spending here.

The place we were staying at was a large apartment on the fourth floor of a nice looking building. There were three bedrooms for me, Serene, and Alice. The living room had two couches facing each other with a table in front of them. Bookshelves lined themselves against the wall and the windows showed a beautiful view of the city.

"This place is amazing Morgan! How much did it cost for you to rent a place here? I need to pay you back for this." I said.

"You don't need to do that. To be honest with you, this place was completely free for me. Being the captain that I am gives me some cool perks." Morgan responded.

I brought my bag over to one of the couches and put it down. I continued looking around the room and noticed the kitchen. Nothing of interest was there for me.

I walked over to one of the bedrooms and looked inside of it. A large bed was put in the corner of the room with an end table next to it. A medium sized chest sat in front of my bed allowing me to put my stuff away.

I walked back to the living room and saw Morgan and Chuck talking to each other about something. I turned towards Alice to see if she knew what they were talking about but she shrugged.

"Looks like I have a mission to go on. It seems like they cut my break shorter than I expected. Hope you guys enjoy the party." Morgan said, opening the door.

Morgan left the room with Chuck behind him leaving us in the room. I walked over to where I placed my bag and brought it over to the room I wanted to stay in. When I put it down I walked back to the living room and looked out the window.

The bright lights of the city were captivating to say the least. Each street had its own colors it used making every place look different. The sounds of people talking could be heard from where I stood.

Alice walked up next to me and looked out the window as well. A small moment of silence went by as we watched the city. I let out a small yawn before turning away from the window and walked over to a bookshelf to grab a book.

"Well I'm going to bed for the night. See you people in the morning." I said, walking back to my room.

When I sat in the bed I opened up the book I grabbed and began to read it. The story was of a young boy who traveled all across the world to find someone he cared about.
