Realizing something was wrong, Elaila went into a defensive stance, but surprisingly, her body wobbled before she slumped back on her chair…" what did you do to me?!" She limply said, then it hit, her, "the pill! You poisoned me!"
"Now calm down my lady, I wouldn't need such petty tricks like poisoning you, it's merely a paralyzing spell," Sen said with Jonas's body. "I really just want to have a conversation with you"
"A conversation?" she could hardly believe it. By now, she already understood that this person is not Jonas, "why don't you show me your real face then?"
"Hmm...As you wish" Sen said and Jonas' body morphed to become a long-eared, pale-faced tattooed Fanalis.
Elaila of course read the reports as well as saw a sketch of his face but seeing it up close like this, she couldn't help but be terrified.
"Satisfied?"
"What do you want?" she managed to say.
"What I want?" Sen rested his face on his palm, pondering. "Well, I first came here for the Sistema" he answered as he took her Sistema in his hand.
"You know about the Sistema?!" Elaila was visibly shocked. The Sistema was a closely guarded secret of her family, never had she thought he would know about it.
"Why wouldn't I know about it?" the two linked Sistema appeared in his hand as he fiddled with them in one hand while holding the other in his other hand. But, Sen did not plan on fusing them now since he had a guest, even though he was the guest.
"You…just who are you?"
"You can call me Sen"
"So? What did you want to talk about?"
"I just want to know somethings. First, tell me about this country."
"What?" of all things she did not expect him to ask this question?
"Ah, you see, I just arrived at this world not too long ago, and I know close to nothing about this country. Why don't a beautiful and elegant lady like you help enrich my feeble mind?"
Although his words were sweet, to Elaila's ears they were anything but.
"Grandor…" she hesitated, "I can't tell you…" even though she had plans to stage a coup, she wouldn't give delicate information to someone who said he would burn her city to the ground.
Slap!
But sadly, the one she was dealing with was Sen.
For a moment there, she had forgotten that she was a hostage, so when she refused to answer, Sen simply delivered a slap directly to her face. He got to admit, her body was pretty strong since a slap form a Fanalis could break a bone, but she made it out with just a few broken teeth.
"Looks like you don't quite understand your position here" Sen clutched her face and forced her to stare him in the eye. For disgusting creatures like her who participated in what he saw in that room, or even allowed it to happen under her roof, he had no mercy, woman or not.
"T…" if Elaila held onto any hope before, she completely let go of it as her mind sank in Sen's fear-inducing eyes. "Grandor…has no world-class cultivator. The strongest is called Mello Falahe, that why it's still small. The king is not a mage, he is a warrior with a special ability that…that can tame beasts easily. That is why Grantor's army is strong, because of the beats the kings tamed."
"Hmm, so Mello was the strongest?"
"Y…yeah…but that's just in the small kingdoms like Grandor. In K'rasia, the strongest kingdom in this continent. Their leaders have broken through beyond the expert level and have many world-class warriors and mages"
"Hmm… I see…what did the prince want with the demon?"
Another thing he said shocked her again. Just how in the night did this person know a lot of these things that should be strictly confidential?
"What de…" she planned on playing dumb but the pain from her missing teeth reminded her to behave. "The royal family…they made a deal with…the Flasa country…"
Sen interrupted her, "so it wasn't because Mello wanted to drink her blood?"
At this point, she no longer bothered to be surprised. Maybe this creature even knows what color underwear she is wearing.
"That was the mission handed to the second prince Rolland." She truthfully answered. "When you killed Ebara, the magic chains holding the demon disappeared and she fled. I'm talking about the first prince Rosvalt, the king gave him the mission of finding a demon to give to Flasa kingdom"
"Why?"
"In exchange for the demon, they would allow a team from our kingdom to enter their labyrinth.
"Labyrinth?" now that is a familiar term for Sen, because back in LR, the labyrinth was an upgraded version of a dungeon, in a way that when cleared once, they would disappear from the entire game.
"y…yes, an ancient structure that appeared sometime in history, they say that if one managed to conquer one, they would gain the power of a god…of course none have ever managed to do it. Not even the one in K'rasia has been conquered, much less one in a backwater country like Flasa.
"So it's like that..." it makes sense that labyrinths exist since no one has ever conquered them. "But what does Flasa wants with the demon?"
"That…I don't know….one day they just came knocking and proposed this deal saying that if we find one and hand it to them, they'll let us in on the labyrinth"
"En!" Sen nodded, "then one last question; did you know your brother has a slave room? Where he tortures and kills even young boys and girls?" his tone grew very cold but the smile was still plastered on his lips.
Elaila suddenly felt a chill running down her back. As expected, her brother's 'hobby' had finally came to bite her in the behind.
Did she know? Of course, she did. Her disgusting brother always spoke of his 'happy hour' and how he tormented his victims. She was disgusted yeah, but she wouldn't do anything about it. After all, she and her brother were nobles and those were just lowly non-humans and peasants. But the real reason was that her brother had suffered an injury when he tried to save her life. She felt indebted so she allowed him to do whatever he wants.
"This…" she was at a loss on how to answer.
"Young children…humans, just like you" Sen interrupted her and suddenly had the patience to hear a noble's point of view.
"He saved my life once"
"Ahh….when you guys were a pond at your maternal grandparents' right? Haha" suddenly, Sen burst into laughter. When lander died, he harvested his soul but not before using Hell domain and soul search like he did Cassil. In it, he saw the most prominent memories. Most of them were disgusting, but this one stood out to him.
"A horned lion your grandfather kept as a pet suddenly went on a rampage. It came towards your direction but your brother pushed you from harms' way and suffered the blow instead right?"
"you…just what are you?" it was a bit understandable that he knows the previous stuff, but things that happened to her as a child and no one knows about, that was something she couldn't fathom.
"Well get this…" Sen ignored her shocked expression, "he didn't push you out of harm way, he panicked and started thrashing around randomly, accidentally pushing you and taking the blow. And by the way, he was the one who killed the lion's newborn cub by poking it with a stick!"
Sen Laughter ended, he paid no more attention to the morphing of Elaila's expression. "But really, I've seen horrible people back at my world, my parents were one. But compared to you…they are saints. Sigh…little children…Ahh."
Sen would refuse to play the hero sometimes but now…his heart was broken, utterly broken. Something that his bloodline memories could not heal nor calm. This, this was his humanity and he was glad he still had it no matter how much ache it caused him now. Because at least now he would not turn into a murderous heartless Fanalis. He was still Sen the human at heart and that was not going to change.
"I…I never touched them" that was the only defense she could come up with.
"You allowed it, supported, and encouraged it" his voice raised at the end, "it's time to end this" Sen raised his hand, Mathrim El'dor's dagger appeared in his hand long sharp blade that glistened in the darkness of the dimly-lit room.
Although the Mathrim twin daggers were unable to show their powers in Sen's hand, they are still sharp and unbreakable, so Sen made them his personal weapons before he found Mathrim's descendant.
However, before the blade could touch Elaila, an old man appeared out of nowhere and blocked it.
"Teacher!" Elaila cried out, never had she thought she would be happy to see her teacher as she was now.
The old man paid her no heed, looking straight at Sen. "whatever you are, I hope you can spare my student this time" he spoke politely but he was not asking.
"Hmph, just a clone and still dare be cocky?" with his enhanced sense on, Sen could clearly feel that this old man was not the real body. Maybe just a safety measure put on Elaila in case of emergencies.
"You're quite perceptive, but even as a clone, you're no match for me. A clone of a world-class is still enough to stop you"
the air thinned, the candle extinguished, and the roof of the study room was blown into smithereens as the old man released a terrifying pressure that met with Sen's Mana barrier he created by quickly crushing the barrier skill orb.
"This…how is this possible?" the old man opened his mouth wide and stared at the shield in surprise and shock, something was familiar to him about the shield. In his daze, he let his guard down and Sen took the chance to push him further.
However, the old man was no pushover either, he quickly recovered and a sword appeared to in his hands.
Slash!
One swing after the other, the old man attacked with extreme dexterity. Sen had to concentrate and think about where each slash is coming from.
"Fast!" the old man muttered. In that split second, he understood that he could never win against this person, at least not with his clone, where only a fraction of his powers could be used. Jumping up to Elaila's side, he grabbed her and stared at Sen. "we shall meet again later I'm sure"
"Who said you could leave?" Sen snorted and held out his hand, immediately, green flames appeared and shot towards Elaila.
The same scene when Cassil escaped happened again, only this time faster.
The old man realized the fire was approaching very fast and it was absolutely bad news, so he covered Elaila with a golden shield. Yet, who would've thought that the fire would change the path and slam against the old man the moment they disappeared from Sen's sight.
"Tssk" Sen slicked his teeth, "they escaped…"
Before Elaila and her teacher successfully teleported away, Sen attacked the old man with the hellfire which he did know to which extent it injures him"
Then something happened that greatly irritated Sen; the Sistema which he had in his hand; it disappeared once again!
"That damnable woman; she must've put a spell on it"
Sen calmed his thoughts he stared into the distance and he could see fire everywhere within the city. "I guess they made it" he smiled and left the now-destroyed office.
