Chapter 37 - CHAPTER 37 - Winds of Change

While Sen was ravaging the Zacharias house, he gave Nivera, Leonas, and Risa a different job; destroying the slave shops, slave markets, and free all slaves from the nobles' houses.

Leonas and Risa's strength hasn't yet reached the expert level, they were considered to be normal internal energy cultivators. The only thing that gives them an edge and advantage when fighting is the skill manuals Sen gave them.

Leonas is learning a precision manual. With it, his fencing and vital point strikes became somewhat accurate, but he hadn't even practiced it halfway yet.

Risa, on the other hand, Sen gave her a low-level body enhancement art. But also that was something she found hard to study. Since her fighting style relies on brutal strength, Nivera advised Sen to let her build a foundation before training her in one certain combat style.

The slaves' shops and nobles of course had their own well-trained guards and one or two mages. That is why the one that led this mission is Nivera who Sen assigned to be his right-hand man.

Demons were already way stronger than humans both in terms of physique and energy. Now that Nivera has grot's heart, naturally, she became a powerhouse in her own rights. She now can be considered as strong as Sen.

There were three slave shops in Lavin. They couldn't just enter, free the slaves, and destroy the place. They first headed towards the garrison where Lavin city's hundreds of guards stayed.

From the DuBois shop, they've bought the bladder of a beast called the Sleeper Dead. As the name suggests, this beast bladder has the ability to make people fall asleep by exploding it. It releases a thick drowsing gas.

With all the guards asleep and would pose no resistance, the city can now be considered to be in their palm.

So for the next few hours, many buildings could be seen burning in Lavin. Nivera led the team to a slave shop after the other. The slaves were freed, while the shopkeepers were all executed.

As for the nobles, Sen knew that some of them had deep ties towards the nobles in the capital and possibly royalty. There were eleven noble houses and their branches here in Lavin.

Nivera targeted all eleven of them. Sen gave her full discretion on how to deal with them.

She, of course, wasn't an unreasonable person who would kill them just for owning slaves. She judged them using the rules and regulations of her country in the demon continent.

And although the nobles did have their own forces, the strongest guards in each house was an expert level cultivator, someone that Nivera with her current strength had no problem defeating.

Thus, eight nobles were sentenced by her to immediate execution for their atrocious acts while the other three houses were spared but had to be crippled. The servants, children, innocent women, and men were of course also spared, but Nivera crippled their energy sea, leaving them never able to cultivate.

Whatever happened that night, there was no doubt that Lavin City would witness a drastic transformation in the morning. No one would know what the future would hold now that the winds of change blew over Lavin.

On the other side, Sen was currently contemplating Fatima's last words before he and his convoy left Lavin for K'rasia, where the house DuBois was settled.

"You should be careful of Elaila Zacharias, she may not be relatively strong but there is a reason why Grandor gave her such a big leeway and did not pursue the matter of her refusing to be queen."

"What do you mean?" asked Sen.

"She herself is just an ambitious woman, but her teacher, he is a known person in K'rasia. The only reason why she is currently staying in Grandor and why she built a city such as Lavin is to complete a task that a teacher of hers assigned to her"

"How do you know this?"

"We, the DuBois, also have our own intelligence network."

"What is that task, do you know of it?"

Fatima shook his head sideways, "we don't. All we know is that she is keeping something under her master's instruction. Her master isn't a big fan of K'rasia law. In fact, his family has tried for generations to stage a coup, so K'rasia has been keeping a really close eye on him. So we suspect that whatever he is planning has something to do with what he is tasking Elaila of hiding."

At that time, she has asked Fatima why not just directly question Elaila and Fatima answered that for the peace of the entire continent, K'rasia, and the two other largest and strongest countries in Thesa, have signed a non-aggression pact that includes doing unauthorized business on the other's soil.

Sen Thought that for a medieval world like this one, some policies are really modern like back on earth. Or maybe K'rasia isn't really taking his threats seriously.

Sen sighed as he went deeper into the Zacharias mansion. He arrived in a closed room. When he entered, a stripped Jonas was tied up to a chair in his undergarments, mouth gagged.

Sen grinned. This ought to be his second interrogation for the night. Of course, Jonas's life would be in balance.

A few minutes were all that is needed to get what he wants. Jonas basically was Elaila's right-hand man. He knew of all her secrets, but whenever he tried asking about her reason for staying in Lavin and not following her teacher to K'rasia, she would shut him off immediately.

But, he did know about the existence of a hidden room that only Elaila was allowed inside.

Jonas served his purpose, so Sen knocked him out and destroyed his energy sea, a method Nivera had thought him, and it's called crippling him. Basically, Sen drained his entire Mana away.

Not caring about Jonas anymore, Sen made his way towards the hidden room according to the butler's directions.

The room was located underground. It took Sen a few minutes to reach there and once he was, he was met with a long spiral staircase that led even further underground.

Of was obvious how much effort Elaila or her teacher put into constructing the room, as the further down he went, the more complicated the traps and mechanisms were.

'Slash'

Sen's clone was once again mercilessly cut down by the sharp arrow from the wall.

The most interesting thing was that Sen recognized the mechanism used in these traps. It was what he saw in the auction, precisely, what his ancient texts contained: the hextech.

But Sen managed to get past them easily, maybe it's his bloodline memories, but he somehow felt a connection towards the machinery made by the goblins.

He decided that he would do some thorough research on the goblins once the chance arises.

Sen cleared another round of traps before finally arriving at what looks to be the end of the road. It was a heavily chained door.

The door or rather a cell gate was three meters tall made of sturdy metal. Sen had seen this metal before at the auction. It is called eternum and it sold for a lot of dragon coins.

Four chains thick as a burly man's arm locked the door in place. It looked utterly impenetrable and majestic. At the center, was carved a statue made of bronze. It was of a woman who looked like an Indian goddess from back on earth. It was a woman in a lotus position with hundreds of arms behind her back spread like a peacock's tail, there was also a small red mole on her forehead.

Sen sucked a breath in. he wasn't nervous when he broke into the Zacharias house when he killed that fat pervert and beat Elaila. But standing here in front of this hulking mass of eternum metal, he became nervous all of a sudden.

Whatever was Elaila and her teacher hiding in here, it definitely had to be something strong enough to warrant such treatment.

"Why don't I just leave?"

He contemplated leaving. He may not be Abe to handle what's behind this door. But Sen's heart was itching with curiosity. Ne needed to see what's inside. He cursed himself, shook away the thoughts, and resigned himself to examining the door.

But unfortunately, he had to be disappointed by the results.

He cannot sense behind the door, has no weapon strong enough to break the door. Once again, Sen felt his power to be lacking.

Body enhancement art, battle dance art, hellfire art, and true ice art; even though he had only reached minor mastery over the last here arts, they were still quite strong. Yet, none of them was able to leave a dent on the eternum door.

In the end, Sen acquiesced to figuring out the mechanism behind the door. He wasn't able to tell whether it's hextech or not like the traps since he felt no connection whatsoever to it.

But that had to be a dead-end as well. No trinket could be found, no keyhole, no lever, knob, nothing! Even the bronze statue was of no use even though it looked to be the answer to opening the door.

Just when Sen was racking his brain and contemplating whether to give up and go meet the others, a voice was heard through the door. It was distant but clear and calm.

"Push the ninety-ninth arm from the left towards the center, do the opposite for the first arm from the right. The head will pop out then. Rotate it to the left for half a round before pushing the first arm back and extending the two hundredth arm from the right. Press the red mole on the forehead and the door will open"
