"It's true, I swear!" exclaimed Victoria, her hands stretched out to grasp his. "Terror wasn't there when I saw you."
"What are you talking about?! She was right with me in that room-"
The snake man paused as he stared at her, his eyes big as if he'd said something that he wasn't supposed to.
This caught her interest. What room was he referring to?
"Complete it."
Surprised at the sternness in her voice, she gave a jerk.
"I'm not inclined to tell you nothing."
"And neither am I."
Silence followed her bold statement.
"So tell me," she began in a low but calm voice. "What room were you referring to?"
"A door," he voiced in a 'duh' voice.
The only thing that was missing from his statement was the rolling of his eyes. She couldn't comprehend fully the reason behind his actions.
