She could hear multiple footsteps following them as they ran through the dark tunnel. Elliot glance back from time to time, checking on him as she ran-more like waddled-from the attackers? She was sure what to call them these days.
A flash of red came out of nowhere, sending Elliot tumbling to the ground. A loud crack followed by a pained groan echoed throughout the entire tunnel.
"Elliot!" screamed Victoria in shock. Her hand wrapped around her stomach protectively as she stumbled backward.
"Well. What do we have here?" asked an amused voice from behind her, causing her to stumble a few steps away. Her ankle twisted on a rock as she did. Sending her face-first to the groan.
His belly throbbed with an unexplainable amount of pain which caused her to writhe and scream in the night.
"Ahh!"
A warm feeling trickled down her leg, causing her screams to raise an octave.
