"Woahh! Your stats are insane sorin!," gasped Nald as he peered over my shoulder at the blue holographic screen that had popped up in front of me. Everyone could see their stats at will by saying status.

"Wait a second...is that Divine eyes! That's the bloodline skill of the royal family, how did you come to possess it?," asked Nald curiously.

"I have no idea, one moment I was getting pummeled by Murklins goons and I got so mad, then these magic runes started appearing on my body before being blown off in the mana explosion earlier. Next thing I know I have all these new skills and much more mana than ever before," I explained carefully.

"Hmmm, this can only mean one thing, you are somehow related to the royal family!," shouted Nald suddenly.

"I don't even know who my parents were Nald, I don't think we should tell anyone...," I pleaded.

"Well then lets go find out who your parents are!," urged Nald.

"You'd help me with that?," I asked with a look of shock. My world had been completely thrown upside down by this new reality, that I was somehow related to the royal family.

"Of course your like a brother to me," laughed Nald.

Everyone knew that those in line for succession to the throne always had to go through viscous and oftentimes dangerous disputes. I had no interest in ruling, I only wanted the strength to do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted but as long as this would keep Nald quiet then I would let him help in finding who my parents were.

"I just noticed another clue, that other X rank skill there Quantum Leap is one I don't recognize. It's not from one of the three noble bloodlines that are in Xanlandia and I know all the ones from our allies outside the country as well and it's not theirs...," pondered Nald.

"Where can we get info without drawing attention to ourselves?," I asked.

"I'll ask my grandfather the next time I see him, he's been around for a long time," joked Nald.

"Alright I'll see you tomorrow then," I said.

"See ya," he said after slinging the practice armor over his shoulder and picking up the practice swords.

I watched the sun rise through the windows of the academy and thought about what happened yesterday as I sat at my desk. Everyone was gossiping about the X ranked power that was felt throughout the whole city, some even claimed that the royal guard had come through the city portal to inquire about just who it was in case it was a foreign threat.

"Today in class we will be learning about mana theory, can anyone tell me what the four types of mana are?," asked Mr.Slans.

"There is regular mana, dark mana, god mana, and chaos mana," said Kenna who had raised her hand and gotten picked on.

"Correct, but does anyone know the differences between them?," said Mr.Slans proudly.

"Uhhh....," muttered the class almost in unison.

"I suppose not as you are just first years, well listen closely. Regular mana is used by mortals and most magical beasts, it exists in the atmosphere like air. Dark mana is the opposite of regular mana and does not exist naturally in nature, mortals who take to many innocent lives have there mana slowly transform into dark mana which turns all of your skills into a more powerful dark variant however you eventually become a lich-," said Mr.Slans.

"Aren't liches immortal though sir?," asked Murklin smugly.

"Yes they are but the kingdoms Dark forces extermination squad would hunt you down. Anyway students god mana is the most powerful but can only be wielded correctly by the gods themselves however demigods can use it but with great strain. Chaos mana is not from this world and rivals that of god mana with the amplification it gives to skills or so the legends say...," explained Mr.Slans.

"Where does Chaos mana come from?," asked Kenna curiously.

"Hm? Oh it says in the legends that it originates from the chaos realm. Unfortunately we are out of time for today class, the war game tryouts will be taking place over the next two weeks so anyone who thinks they are up for it just come to the school training field after class," Lectured Mr.Slans.

After class let out I stood beside the bleachers as the war game tryouts went on, wondering if I should go for it or not. As long as I keep my strength in check and don't raise my mana to high I should be fine, there would be Guild masters attending the war games and If I performed well then I could secure a spot with one of them that pays well. I could care less about being related to royalty, the drama and danger would not be worth it to reveal that...

"Next!," shouted Mr.Slans from the middle of the field where he was conducting the tryouts. Each student who wanted to participate had to battle against a teacher who would decide if they were ready for it, usually only C ranks were admitted or in rare cases those who had the power of one but was of lower rank.

"I'll go," i hollered while jogging over to Mr.Slans.

"No more huh?...," muttered Mr.Slans as he wrote something down on parchment.

"You are required to test ALL who wish to participate Mr.Slans," said a voice.

I looked around to see Ms.Exalia standing on the left of us. She was one of the few teachers who didn't treat me different because of my potential, I had to remember to pay her back one day.

"But he's so we-," started Mr.Slans with a tired expression as he sipped on his coffee.

"Not another word or I will be reporting this to the headmaster!," yelled Ms.Exalia.

"Fine, come on then boy let's get on with it. Ms.Exalia make yourself useful and go fetch the nurse," sneered Mr.Slans while putting down the parchment, but still holding his coffee cup.

"How dare you!," said Ms.Exalia. I noticed she was clutching tight on her daggers but knew it was forbidden for teachers to fight.

"Hurry up boy," boomed Mr.Slans as he unsheathed his sword with his right hand and sipped his coffee with his left.

"As you wish sir," I growled.

I unsheathed my blade and unsuppressed my mana from that of an F rank to that of a Low tier C rank which was around the level needed for entry. My mana aura began to roll off my body in small waves of blue energy.

"How?," muttered Mr.Slans with a shocked expression. Ms.Exalia couldn't even utter a word...

I lunged at him and covered the ten feet distance between us within seconds.

*Clang*

*Clang*

*Clang*

"Not bad boy, it seems you really were a late bloomer," mocked Mr.Slans.

"Yeaaa! That's what I'm talking about Sorin!," hollered Ms.Exalia.

"What are you going on about, He's still a weakling," said Mr.Slans as he stopped matching my output of power and sidestepped to the left of my blade, sipped his coffee and then kicked me in the stomach.

"Blegh!," I said spitting up blood and using my sword as a cane to prop me up.

"Go easy on the boy!," yelled Ms.Exalia.

"Then how will he ever learn," sneered Mr.Slans as he kicked my blade out from underneath me making me collapse.

"There, I tested him. He may have grown a bit stronger but not enough for it to mean anything in the war games. He barely meets the power requirements," stressed Mr.Slans.

"I'm not done yet...," I boomed while getting up, I'm tired of this guy. It's time to show him what I'm really capable of.

"Get on with it then," yawned Mr.Slans as he sipped from his coffee again.

I unsuppressed my mana all the way for a brief second and lit up the training field with my blue aura despite the fact that the sun was setting in the background. My manas aura grew to hundreds of feet in height before dying down. That's when I rushed at him and seemingly disappeared from the spot where I was. I appeared behind him and came down with the flat of my blade aimed at his head.

*Clang*

*Boom*

His skill and experience alone saved him, he turned around just in the nick of time and put his sword up to block but he was still thrown back tens of feet like a ragdoll and crashed into the side of the academy's equipment shed. He was out cold, his coffee mug lay broken on the ground next to him. I suppressed my mana again immediately right after the attack.

"Sorin that was amazing! I couldn't even follow that...," stammered Ms.Exalia.

"Maybe I went a bit overboard...," I muttered with a shocked expression. I only meant to match his level of power but it seemed I didn't know my own strength.

"He deserved it. Our school might actually win the war games this year!," exclaimed Ms.Exalia.

"So I'm in?," I asked excitedly.

"Yes. Also starting tomorrow you will be in the A rank classes," continued Ms.Exalia.

"Cool," I said with a surprised expression.

"But where did you get this power? It felt X rank at least, that couldn't have been you the other day...," pondered Ms.Exalia.

"I should go get some sleep for classes tomorrow," I

said panicking.

"Oh yes of course, come to the front office tomorrow for your new schedule," said Ms.Exalia.

The next day I woke up early so that I had time to pass by the front office of the school to grab my new schedule and see my new classes. When I arrived there I saw the assistant head master Ms. Larrington who was X rank at the front desk waiting for me.

"Your early, I like that kid. Here's your new schedule," explained Ms.Larrington.

"Thanks Ms.Larrington," I replied earnestly.

When I got to my new class I opened the door and saw Nald sitting in there to my surprise. Once my tutor and now I was his equal, perhaps even more than that.

"Welcome to A rank Combat Class, you must be the new student joining our class that Ms.Exalia spoke so high about!," said the teacher who was a tall male with white hair and blue eyes. He wore a simple brown top and trousers fit.

"Yes I'm Sorin," I said nervously as Nald waved at me and motioned for me to sit next to him.

"I'm Mr.Danzini, don't be shy," he reminded.

"Nice to meet you," I laughed. When I took my seat he began the class, I zoned out for a bit but then he called on me.

"Alright that's all you guys need to know about this weapon skill. Are you ready sorin?," asked Mr.Danzini.

"Um yea of course," I replied.

"Good, your partnered with Nald," said Mr.Danzini.

After we split up into groups we moved to the training field and everyone finally began as Mr.Danzini gave the signal to start.

"Were you listening or did you zone out like usual?," asked Nald while he handed me the practice armor and swords.

"I mean I was totally into it but for understanding purposes could you explain it to me one more time," I confessed.

"You never change Sorin...," chided Nald with a laugh.

"Hehe sorry," I said.

"We're practicing Multi-hit weapon skills," explained Nald.

"Hmm I've never tried that...," I pondered.

"Yea that's because your power was so frail," joked Nald.

"Haha, could you show me one? I'm more of a visual learner," I challenged.

"Of course," replied Nald as he took his stance and crouched low.

Flame Strikes|

"Ee-yah!," yelled Nald.

Nalds blade began to glow red then steam started coming off it before it burst into fire then he performed a three hit strike in the air five feet away from me at an angle that I could see.

"Cool," I said while grinning.

"Normal Knight use their stamina to perform weapon skills, but since you and I have mana and were multi class users who use Magic as well our weapon skills come out with an elemental effect. You'll never know which element you have the talent for until you infuse your mana into the weapon and perform the skill as I understand you haven't started Your magic instruction yet so save the magic for them fir now," explained Nald.

I listened patiently and did my best to try and give him my full attention, then I gave it a go myself.

"Haaa!," I roared.

I took a stance and began my assault on the air in front of me but this time I put more strength behind it and my sword glowed with a white aura indicating a skill was at work, then the name of it just came to me from the system.

Blade Rush|

The air in front me was cut to bits as I performed a five hit combo without stopping.

"That's good Sorin, especially for your first time," began Nald.

"Times up guys! Dismissed," boomed Mr.Danzini.
