Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The morning sun was still low on the horizon, it was without doubt too early for anyone to be up and about. Marroc walked along the silent street, occasionally catching his reflection in the faintly illuminated puddles that lined his way. His emerald eyes faintly glowing and dark hair sticking to his face, betraying that he had been out most of the night. Recently having moved to a new city, he found himself often out at night, he didn't really have it in him to make new friends or to take up any hobbies that would let him meet anyone worth making any kind of acquaintance with. He had his own place and lacked any valid reason to get a job. Every month he received 8000euros deposited into his account regardless.

turning the corner he fumbled for his keys. The run-down door of the apartment he lived in made it very hard to imagine that he was in any way well off. Inside the passage was equally as uninviting, wallpaper peeling off, and a musty scent lingered in the air. The lift groaned as it carried him up to the 6th floor, he had been surprised that the building had had one when he chose the place, and even more so when he found out it worked. though he knew that it was not safety checked, though trough lack of value for his life he used it anyway. Slowly and increasingly reluctantly he made his way to his front door. It was much newer than the rest of the building, making it stand out like a saw thumb. He began his unlocking ritual, starting with a 6 digit code, followed by a series of traditional locks.

the door swung ajar, revealing a modern home, lightly coloured wooden floors brought to life by an automatic light. he took off his shoes, carefully placing them on the shoe rack and made his way to the bathroom to shower and sleep the day away.

He barely made it five steps inside when his world spun and he found himself facedown on the floor.

"F*ck!" he exclaimed turning to see which of his belongings had betrayed him, only to discover a pair of shoes he certainly had no recollection buying and was even more certain, due to their small size, would never fit him or anyone he knew. looking up his eyes found their way to the perpetrator, A young woman with golden-brown eyes and matted auburn hair, dressed in nothing but an extremely large offwhite pullover and long thigh-high black socks.
