Chapter 5 - Episode 3, Information heavy.

Oliver sat on his bed for a solid minute while trying to understand the notification. He recognized the name Brigand since it was the Pseudonym he had typed into that suspicious survey. The rest of the text resembled a stats page for an RPG.

Oliver knew he had little time left before he was to meet his mom by the car to go to Judo class. But curiosity got the better of him and he touched one text and what opened was a new...'tab?'

***********

Strength: 14

This stat is the ability to generate force to carry out work. It compliments all muscles within the human body and thus, more energy is required to keep it constantly growing. {1 strength can generate a force of about 10 Newtons per unit time.}.

This stat compliments [Stamina]

****************

Oliver was now interested as he thought deeply about the explanation. On Earth, at least it took about a mass of 1 kilogram to generate a force of 10 Newtons. This was because of gravity. If he did the math correctly, the text was saying he was capable of either lifting a mass of 14kgs or could generate a force equal to 140 Newtons.

It was an interesting prospect and Oliver knew it was a sort of true. Whenever he went to the gym with his father, the heaviest weight he could carry was just shy of 14kgs, even though his body altogether could lift something much heavier. He wasn't strong, but he was at least smart enough to understand the explanation.

He was growing excited as he tapped the next one, while failing to acknowledge the passing of time.

**************

Stamina: 10

This stat is the ability to produce energy to carry out an activity. There is no definite unit of measurement for stamina and thus it simply works better the higher it is. It is consumed when one carries out work and may permanently reduce if the user's body is severely damaged.

This stat compliments [Strength]

*************

Oliver nodded his head in understanding. Stamina was energy, and it made sense that it would complement one's strength. After all, it would take more energy and strength to dent a car than it would be to lift a stone.

He continued with his research.

************

Intelligence: 15

This stat correlates with one's ability to perceive and process information before deciding. There is no specific unit of measurement for intelligence. It's advised to increase its value as it allows for better perception and efficient decision-making.

This stat compliments [Magic power], User is incapable of reading this stat at the moment, and thus further information is locked.

This stat compliments [Agility]

**************

Oliver hesitated a bit as he read. It seemed intelligence was the most diverse of the stats. It complimented magic power, a stat which Oliver himself did not have. He thought against it and simply read the explanation again.

Intelligence was yet another stat without a specific unit of measurement and so it simply worked better the higher it was. After a bit of thinking, it also came to light how it complimented agility. The human brain perceives information moving below a certain speed. If something moves faster than this speed, it becomes blurred to the human brain since there isn't enough time to perceive it clearly. However, if perception increased, such a problem could be solved and Oliver could move at thousands of miles per hour without the world being dangerously blurred.

He looked towards the next stat.

****************

Agility: 7

This stat relates to the speed of a reflex. It also relates to the speed of the user, as it allows for more energy to be concentrated throughout the body without damaging it. (1 agility point relates to a speed of about 1mph/ 1.6kmph).

NOTE: This stat can change the user's physique in order to allow for growth and development. Changes depend on the user's lifestyle and other factors.

This stat compliments [Intelligence]

**************

Oliver read it thoroughly but couldn't seem to find the same excitement he had with reading the others. Agility seemed pretty straightforward except for the note about changing Oliver's physique. He couldn't properly wrap his head around it, but eventually gave up on it and instead looked at the final one.

*****************

Will: 10

This stat is to measure the emotional stability of the user, their willingness to develop and the faith they have in their own power. It holds no physical value and only works to aid in the efficient use of the user's attributes. You may ignore it if you wish, as only you can increase it.

This stat compliments [Attributes]

***************

Oliver was at a loss now as he read the explanation of [Will]. Its use was only clear when using attributes, and Oliver couldn't even fathom how something like that worked. He simply sighed as he glanced at the clock. His jaw almost dropped as he read it was already 30 minutes past.

His mom was going to be absolutely pissed.

He rushed to pack his things, including a wireless power bank for his phone and a notebook for use later. He stumbled down the corridor and nearly bumped into the coat rack as he jumped out the door.

Sunlight hit his vision as he walked onto their lawn. He caught sight of his mother sitting in the driver's seat of their simple car. She was chewing on yet another toothpick and from the way her head was bent; she was on her phone.

Oliver awkwardly entered the car while avoiding his mom's gaze and trying to act as natural as possible.

"Let's go..."

"Sure, champ. Just texted the instructor you're going to be late, so don't worry too much."

After she said that, Oliver relaxed a bit and his mom noticed it. She simply smiled, however, and started the car engine. With a minor delay, they set off for Judo class.

*********************

(Later that day, during the afternoon)

Oliver held a chocolate donut in his hand and an open box of donuts on his lap. He was wearing his judo outfit and held his phone in his hand. His mother was quiet as she drove the car out of the donut store parking. Oliver couldn't help but poke a bit of fun at her.

"You think dad will appreciate these donuts that I got him?"

She simply smirked and punched his shoulder lightly.

"Watch yourself, champ. The money came from me, not you, and I also might add the extra box in the back."

Oliver laughed as he took another bite of his donut. He stared down at his phone and kept on reading text after text. This behaviour of his didn't go unnoticed by his mom and she simply asked what he was doing.

"Oh! I'm just reading this interesting thing I got. Want to see how strong it says I am?"

"I doubt that it's that interesting, but sure, let me see."

Oliver handed over his phone and waited for her reaction to slow down the car to read. She eventually slowed down and glanced at the phone before a frown appeared on her face. Immediately Oliver thought something wasn't right, and he tried explaining.

"Wait, I promise this isn't one of those cult things!"

"Oliver..."

"It's actually some sort of thing that installed itself on my phone!"

"Oliver there's no-"

"I promise there's nothing bad going on here, though! I got no message from my antivirus-"

"Oliver, there's nothing here but a blank screen!"

She then tossed his phone back at him and scowled as she drove. It stunned Oliver as he tried to find his own words. He looked at his phone screen and the app was still open. In bold white italics, and that was when he realized what was up.

{It seems I'm the only one who can see this...}
