Chereads / The Hogwarts Years / Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

Hufflepuff sat down at one of the tables in the ice cream parlor in Diagon Alley. She had ice cream in one hand and the everyday season in the other.

She was not interested in this newspaper, but maybe there will be something interesting in it?

- Hello. Can I sit on it?

At the sound of someone's voice, the blonde looked up from the newspaper and saw a brunet standing over her. The boy had gray eyes and a fair complexion. You could see a few freckles on the cheeks.

- Sure. She replied with a smile and showed the boy to sit in front of her.

As she showed him, he sat across from him and began staring at his fingers.

- I'm Sophie Turner. The puffer introduced herself, waving her hand gently.

- Forgot completely, I'm Noah Moonlight. - He also introduced himself with a gentle smile.

Sophie licked her ice cream and asked Noah out of curiosity:

- What house are you from?

- Ravenclaw, and you? the ravenclaw asked, turning to Sophie.

- Hufflepuff. she replied with a slight note of pride in her voice.

There was a momentary silence, and only the voices of the other customers of the ice cream shop were heard.

- What are you reading? The boy asked breaking the silence.

- The Daily Prophet. - She replied and a few moments later asked - Do you want to read?

- Oh, what are they writing about again. - He muttered and took the newspaper from the fluff.

He read a few pages while rolling his eyes. After a few minutes, he handed the Prophet to Sophie.

- What you're interested? she asked not to interrupt the conversation.

- Mmm ... I like reading Muggle stories. They are really interesting! - He answered and turned the question - And what are you interested in?

- I love working in the garden. You know generally it is to take care of plants.

- Yes, plants are great. he replied, his voice full of joy.

Sophie smiled at the raven and went back to reading the Daily Prophet. Noah, not wanting to disturb the blonde reading, started looking for something in his bag.

"Damn ..." he muttered under his breath, stopping rummaging in the bag.

Hufflepuff looked up from the newspaper and asked:

- What happened?

- I lost something very important to me. he explained in a slightly worried voice.

- Maybe you left it at home. she suggested, putting the prophet aside.

- I doubt I'd have left this in the orphanage. He sighed softly, straightening himself on the back of the chair.

- You live in an orphanage? she asked a bit surprised.

- I wasn't supposed to say that, em ... Yes. he said with a sad smile.

- I feel sorry.

- It wasn't that bad ... Until. he said and even managed to smile.

And this awkward silence reappeared. But fortunately it was quickly discontinued.

- Coming back, what have you lost? She asked quickly changing the topic of conversation.

- A memento of the mother. - answered the question.

- Can I help you search?

- Thank you for your willingness, but I will not use it.

She nodded and picked up the newspaper. She opened the page she was reading on and continued this activity. After a moment's thought, the Ravenclaw got up from his chair and approached the girl from behind. He leaned over and began reading what she was reading.

- This is good. she whispered in her ear and pointed the text with his finger.

Sophie read the text on display and replied:

- He's actually good.

- You see, I'm always right. she replied with a lie in her voice.

She looked at him with one eyebrow raised. After a while, she was laughing at her best.

- Do you doubt? he asked and then added "And you are doing well."

Amused, the girl shook her head, turning her gaze back to the prophet. She has already started reading the end of this newspaper here.

And the brunet leaned in even more to read the sentences.

- I think I'll be blind. he replied, stopping bending and straightening up.

He started rubbing his eyes with his hands and trying to read something each time.

- Maybe you should see an ophthalmologist? she asked seeing Noah rubbing her eyes.

- Maybe yes, maybe not, we'll see what the time shows - he said and after a while he dreamed - Ahh ... Hogwarts soon I will be able to sit alone in the compartment, enjoying the views.

- I love that place. she said with a broad smile, also drifting away for a moment.

- I too ... - she replied and quickly added - I hope we will meet again.

- I also hope.

- So that it wasn't, let's have a meeting somewhere. the ravenclaw suggested.

- But where? she asked, wondering.

- I didn't think about that. he scratched his head, considering the places.

May the two of them think about the perfect places to meet. But they couldn't think of anything.

- We can fix it at Hogwarts. she said with a smile.

Noah nodded eagerly and smiled back at Sophie as well. He embraced her gently and said:

- We'll meet for sure ...

- Before we see you, you should see an ophthalmologist. she cut him off in mid-sentence.

- Ugh, okay, I'll go. he replied, resigned.

Sophie nodded, and Noah looked at his watch on his hand and replied:

- I'll be on my way.

- I'll see you! - She said goodbye to him when he was going to the door.

- For now! - He also said a quick goodbye and left the ice cream shop, walking forward.

Meanwhile, the blonde hid the newspaper in her bag and finished eating ice cream.

She got up from the chair, put her bag on her shoulder, and left the ice cream shop.
